Saw these guys all over Austin was down there and was intrigued since I'd never seen them anywhere else (even though they're apparently everywhere). I stopped in for a quick lunch my last day there. The menu has a fairly extensive range of options for gourmet sandwiches. I went with a Totally Tuna which was, wait for it, totally tasty topped with alfafa sprouts, cucumber, lettuce and tomato on whole grain bread. The tuna was a little bit dry, but on the whole it was an awesome sangwich complimented very nicely by some Jimmy John's salt and vinegar kettle chips. I walked in to a nearly empty shop with a ratio of employees to customers that was possibly 3:1. I got my sandwich in about 3 minutes and had no trouble securing a a booth. Maybe 5 minutes later, the corporate lunch crowd arrived and the place was packed. Nice lunch experience. May now actively look for a Jimmy John's near me. read more

There are Jimmy John's all over the place. But it seems like this location is the one I frequent most. The sandwiches are good and they don't give me the "strange look" like Subway when I order a cheese sandwich. That alone gives them 4 stars. Subway must train ALL of their employees to look appalled when one orders a cheese sandwich. Jimmy John's makes me feel GOOD about my cheese sammie. Italian Night Club on french was recently on a list of the top 10 "worst" sandwiches. They say it isn't healthy. I don't care. Don't know where this location is because I have always ordered and had it delivered. The bread, the meat, the veggies, the dressings. It's just a perfect match. Had the Beach club and it's good, but not as good. The extras cost too much, but if you just want the sandwich, and especially if you need delivery downtown this is the way to go! read more

They are probably getting an extra star for being located in my office building, but I suppose it's better of me to round up than down. Jimmy Johns has a few good things going for it. Fresh bread and tasty veggies highlight the sandiwiches. I like the regular bread, but have heard numerous compliants from others. If you fall into that bucket I would give the wheat bread a try as it's pretty darn good. The meat is only good for about two slices, but it's enough food to fill the hungry, and at $4.50 cents (before cheese) I'll take that bargain before going into the hell that is the downtown Subway for a $5 footlong anytime. It's worth noting that their Veggetarian sandwich is one of my favorites in town. The commercials for this place about their speed of service are corny, but their words ring true. Even when the lines are long, they'll get you in and out in a matter of minutes, noting that their service has always been spot on. I'm a rather picky individual... so don't read too far into the food part if you love to load your sandwich up with a bunch of crazy toppings. But for what I get o it (meat, cheese, mayo) the sandwich is awesome. Many people may say "well hey, how can they mess up a sandwich that simple?"... But it's easier than you would probably think! I feel silly saying this but honestly Jimmy John's is one of my favorite quick places in Austin to eat. Yeah it's a chain and I do respect the small businesses but when food tastes good... it tastes good. You can't really doubt that. I can't rightfully be discussed with a restaurant just because it's a chain. The best part of Jimmy John's though is the bread! This is the key to their greatness. How can bread be that great? Came here and asked for my sandwich to have no cheese and no mayo to be greeted with incredibly rude looks. I asked for mustard, got an attitude. I was told mustard was in packets so I asked for some, I didn't get any, had to go back and ask. There was no avocado on my veggie sandwich and when I went to tell them the rude man working told me I was wrong and it was there...as if I wasn't the one eating it and looking at it. I loved this place. I'm visiting my brother in San Antonio and we took a trip to Austin. We were walking around in the down town area and got hungry for something quick and easy. The first place we noticed was Jimmy John's so we decided to just hop in there and grab something since it was right there. I really liked the place. The funny little posters and signs are fun and give it a really fun vibe. I got the tuna sandwich and it came with sprouts! I love sprouts! It was delicious. First of all, the address to this place says it's on Congress. The door is actually on 6th street. Best deli sandwich I've had since moving to New Mexico! That would be just over two years and, yes, I know this restaurant is in Texas. There aren't any good deli-style sandwich shops in southeastern New Mexico that I've found. So...this is the best place..! The staff is a lot of fun and friendly. The place is clean. Parking is a challenge if you're driving. I walked here once and drove the next day. Here's the cheat to driving: *** This is for demonstration purposes only. At no time should anyone break the law and always be a safe driver and drive friendly! *** Drive up 5th Street and stay in the far left lane when you pass Congress Ave. Drive s-l-o-w-l-y as you will take the first left, which leads down an alley. There's a loading zone. Park at the end of the zone closest to 6th Street. Walk out of the alley towards 6th and turn left. The shop is right there. Get your meal. These guys are usually so quick you'll be in and out in no time. Get back to your car quickly and leave out the 6th Street side of the alley. I had the Gargantuan, since I'm a big guy. One day I added bacon and the next day I didn't. This sandwich is so huge I didn't even taste the bacon. Don't screw with making the sandwich special. Just order it as it comes on the menu. Tried Jimmy John's for the first time in Indianapolis in February. Went again in Baltimore in June. Really nice to see consistently good quality with a third pleasant visit in Austin this month. Pretty empty inside, quick service, nice employees, why no tip jar? Music not loud when I was there but it was a Wednesday. Maybe the music gets turned up on the weekend. There was live "entertainment" too. A female came in and was talking with several employees as though they were friends. In a matter of seconds, she was storming out the door saying she was going to report them. A few seconds after that, she came back in smiling and saying she needed to use the restroom. One of the employees apologized to me (even though I wasn't disturbed). I asked what it was like on the weekend and she told me that they were open until 2 am and lots of people would come in thinking it was a bar and try to order drinks. LOL read more

This Jimmy Johns just delivered my sammy so here it goes They really are fast. I ordered at about 11:25 and was eating by 11:40. And whenever I tell this to come between a certain window (11:15-11:30 for example) its liek they read my mind and came as early as possible. I love the bread. Its nice and soft. It really is a good sammy. Like someone said its not gourmet or anything but will satisy for sandwhich needs! The delivery guys are also always very nice! Thanks for my lunch today. My roommate and his girlfriend went to Michigan State and sang the praises of this enigmatic Jimmy John character....and I can see what inspired them. It's fast and delicious, not unlike grape flavored Dimetapp. We went in here cranked out of our minds on scotch and brewdogs. I ordered a #6 or someshit, turkey and cheese with stuff on it. BEWARES: they put a good amount of mayo on these if you don't tell them otherwise. Not a huge mayo fan, but it tasted pretty good. I have an inkling that JJ's without mayo would be like cooking up fish sticks and not using tartar sauce. At any rate, my fountain soda was delicious, and highly necessary, the sandwich was in my hand before my change was, and there was an amazing amount of shredded lettuce on that guy, and I left my friend Wags an hilarious voicemail while he was talking on the phone with my other buddy Jarrett, thinking he would flip his wig with the stereophonic timespace-melting deja vu. 4 stars. Jimmy John's is your typical sandwich shop. All the sandwiches i have tried have been OK. Not great but filling enough to get me through the rest of the day. What JJ's really has going for it is speed. Often they have finished making my sandwich even before I am done paying. I have even heard them making deliveries within 10 minutes of placing an on line order. If you need a quick cheap lunch downtown this place is perfect. I don't get the hype. My friend had been raving about these, growing up in the mid-west, living in LA - not a JJ in sight. He said "the way you felt about Subway the first time you ate Jersey Mike's, that's how you'll feel about Jersey Mike's once you try Jimmy John's". Iiiiiiiii'm not so sure about that. Per his recommendation, I got the Vito, add mayo (include peppers). The bread is awesome. All you acolytes are correct in that regard. The bread is just fresh, soft, great. I wish I had the stomach space to drop two bits for the day-old rolls. However the rest of the sandwich was just a-ok. Not bustling with flavor or sauce. The meat and cheese was fine. Ok, above par. But not extraordinary. There were also some oddly condescending adages aimed at high school teenagers plastered all over the wall. That was kind of weird. The people at this location are consistently rude. Typically when your sandwich is ready, they will call out the number, the name of the sandwich and any modifications (ex: #4, Turkey Tom, add mustard). While waiting, I heard them yell out "#11". That was it, so I initially assumed it was not mine. When they yelled it the second time, I asked if this one had no mayo (which is how I ordered mine). The guy looked me in the eye and replied "you can read the receipt.". Was that necessary? (1) He should have called it out correctly. Or (2) a simple "yes" would have sufficed. I've been to the location many times and have witnessed several examples. Today will be my last time - I'll take my business elsewhere going forward. Additionally, their cyclists (delivery boys) are awful. They don't follow traffic rules and will dart in front of vehicles as they are trying to pull out of the garage. I've seen several cars nearly hit one of them and I've also see several of the cyclists nearly run over pedestrians. They are clearly idiots or not sober enough to be aware of what they are doing. I will say, typically the folks running the register and taking orders are nice. However, the delivery boys and the guys calling out orders are obnoxiously rude and dumb. read more

Very rude, will rip you off. I order Jimmy John's a couple times a week. Not from this location usually, but the one time I did they were very rude. I always get a pepe with xtra ham, xtra roast beef. When my order came it was seriously lacking roast beef. Usually the meat can barley fit on the bread, I noticed immediately this time the sandwich was thin. I called to tell them that they didn't give me double roast beef, which is $4 extra, and they just told me sorry, yes we did, too bad. Jimmy John's tosses fresh ingredients onto fresh bread, with standard condiments, to make an inexpensive, decent, quick sandwich. Perfect for lunch on the go, plus JJ's offers delivery. My office has used them for corporate events, and the 6th street location is fast, efficient, and most importantly, accurate and on time with deliveries for group events. In comparison to other downtown options, JJ's sandwiches are mid-level. Not gourmet by any means (I would reserve that moniker for Sweetish Hill nearby), but definitely a reliable and consistent option for the lunch crowd. I would love to review the sandwich, but I can't get one delivered! I am 1.08 miles away from the closest location. Sure, I am on the East side of 35, by four blocks. So many places do not deliver over here and it is really frustrating. I take it personally. I asked the general manager why his delivery zone is so small and he said, "That's why we can get you your sandwiches so fast". I just recently moved near this location to a building that is serviced frequently and it has been like pulling teeth to get a sandwich in under 45 minutes! On top of it the staff is RUDE and could care less about courtesy and customer service. I had an issue yet again with not receiving my sandwich in a timely manner which was not entirely their fault, but a website glitch. I spoke with the manager Ryan about the situation and at first it seemed as if he did an excellent job of trying to remedy the situation and offered me a refund, (which I have not received), and to still send over my meal. He also offered a free order in the future which was awesome since I go through busy periods where I order frequently. So I ended up having to call back again asking where the sandwich was because he misunderstood when I wanted it, (annoying but let it go since he was trying), and then he told me that when I wanted my free order then I would have to call the store since there will not be any notes. This situation did get resolved UNTIL 08/19/2016 I called in an order. The delivery person did arrive quickly and called my phone, and I told him that I would be right down to get the sandwich (there are street level elevators), he then calls back 2 min later as I am on my way down and says he is now a block away where there are not any public elevators! I had no clue as to why in the world he would go 1 block further away for me to track him down and get my sandwich!!! I even asked the office what he could be doing and they were equally as perplexed. I tried looking for him only to get a text saying he left my sandwich on the commercial delivery scale where filthy trucks, boots, animals and grease traps are near-DISGUSTING. When I called and spoke to the regional Mgr- he actually said that the delivery person just had a different "perception" of where to deliver- REALLY?!!! Oh okay, lets leave his food in a delivery area downtown covered with dirt, grime and filth when the main entrance street areas that are easily found, where the call box to reach the residents is clearly labeled, is actually used and then abandoned to go a block away in a dirty delivery area where it is not easily found, and call it it a "perception" choice and blame the customer! I should contact the Health Department on this is another thing I am thinking if the Regional Manager id not find this to be a big deal. What are you allowing to go on if this does not concern you??? YOU WILL NEVER GET MY BUSINESS AGAIN. ****Corporate called and was indeed sympathetic and shocked that this happened, and that the Regional Manager even tried to defend such business practices. I was told that they will be looking into the situation and how to handle it- I appreciate it but I will till never eat there again. ****I am asking for a refund since they basically stole my money for a sandwich never received. read more

Our presence at the store seemed to irritate the employees. There was no one ahead of us but they were furiously making sandwiches for to go orders I assumed. They were quite rude and seemed irritated at us. We had to shout our orders over the blaring music and got no confirmation if they heard us right or not.
