The weather was amazing out today so I decided to go in and order. My sandwich and pickle were amazing and the staff was super friendly. I usually always get the veggie, but decided to try something different and I got the Spicy East Coast Italian, it comes with: DOUBLE SALAMI, DOUBLE CAPOCOLLO & PROVOLONE, Jimmy Peppers, oil & vinegar, onion, lettuce, tomato & mayo - it's fire. Placed an online order. Driver didn't ring my doorbell or knock so I have no idea how long it was sitting out there. My order was left on the wet floor and they forgot my drink. Called the store and the manager couldn't have cared any less. No apology or empathy. Just said so do you want a credit or do you want a drink? Earlier this week I called to order my free complimentary sandwich due to the inconvenience I experienced previously. The guy who answered stated he could not pull anything up under my name or phone number regarding a complimentary sandwich. I gave him the day and he still insisted he didn't see anything in the system. I told him about the girl who made the sandwich. He insisted she normally is pretty good at leaving the phone number and name of the person who is supposed to have the complimentary sandwich. Wow, well apparently she didn't! They are so slow!!! Last year I ordered for deliver from this place. They took over an hour to deliver. There was nothing "freaky" about that delivery timeframe. Recently, I figured I would try them again and see if they improved the delivery times. Ordered for delivery again. Forty-three minutes into the order I called to see what was going on and they said they haven't even made the sandwiches yet. Get real!!! I will never order from this location again. Well just placed an order for two sandwiches and two drinks for delivery. I guess I'm use to a different brand of Jimmy Johns. They showed up with a different price in the receipt than the total than I was told on the phone. I also ordered large drinks and the do no drinks large drinks. Not delivering large drinks for a reason is fine but not letting me know that when I specify large drinks is an issue to me. None of this is something that would make me bail on a resturant yet when I called, both the prices of everything I ordered and the large drinks issue were both said to me by the GM in a rather rude way that "I should know these two things", including the total that differed. So these are non issues besides "someone should have called about the total that was an error on their end." He really could care less and now I could care less to spend my money there. Now that I'm educated on what to expect. If there ever is an issue again, I don't know what else I should know... he ended up hanging up on me promptly as a GM that should understand the impact of business. So I'm hanging up the phone on ordering from Jimmy Johns again due to two should have been simple things. read more

I called and placed a delivery order shortly after noon. 50 minutes later with no food showing up I called them to discover that they just aren't delivering my food saying I'm not in their delivery area. I am so upset right now. I didn't bring a lunch today, am 6 1/2 months pregnant, can't leave to get something, and they wasted an hour where I could have gotten something else. Jimmy John's is always known for their Freaky Fast service and I can usually count on my online order to be ready before I get there but today it wasn't, which was fine, I wasn't in any rush today. Deeply disappointed in the service and speed of this location. I love Jimmy John's, and order often enough from the location near my house. I've never had a problem with that location, but I'm afraid the River Street Jimmy John's location has proven disappointing on more than one occasion. I placed my online order this afternoon at about 1:20, receiving a confirmation email shortly thereafter. When nothing had arrived by 2:00, I called the location to check on the status. The gentleman who answered the phone informed me that they had gotten very busy, but that my order was out the door and on it's way to me. It arrived another 15 minutes later, nearly an HOUR after placing the order. I also had to remind the driver that I'd ordered a drink, which he ran back to his car for. As this is the only JJ location which delivers to my place of employment, I will likely order again in the future, but I'm paying cash next time, and tipping based on the service. Maybe when they have their yearly customer appreciation day, but not this year. I am so sick of JJ, I way overdid it when I started working DT A-town and was too lazy to bring my lunch, or drive anywhere bc there's barely ANYTHING to eat DT Aurora within walking distance. Wackarnolds, the Subway got closed, and I can only eat so much Mexican food (although tortas de Guadalajara does throw down one fire milenesa torta). I hate JJ bc I can't stand the meat, it tastes slimy and the lettuce tastes like chemicals. However, they always have delish little tomatoes and I love their hot peppers, although my stomach disagrees with me on that point Their bread is good but these sandwiches are awful for you calorie-wise annnd don't even look @ the sodium. Also, I disagree with their practice of charging .59 per item or something ridiculous for delivery. I ordered lunch including drinks and chips with three friends and we spent like $5 on delivery...it's down the street but I suppose that's my bad for being too damn lazy to make the trek. We went to the Jimmy John's on River Road in Aurora, I ordered a turkey, with tomato and lettuce. I didn't see any salt or pepper shaker on the table so I asked at the counter. They said they never have any like all the other Jimmy John's. It was tasteless. That was my first and last time at any Jimmy John's. read more

This Jimmy Johns is very clean and nicely laid out. It's very bright, and the tables have a nice wood finish and dark tones. I know, it's odd that I am commenting on the decor of a Jimmy Johns, but this one actually stands out. It's a calm place to escape too and get a few things done via Wifi. As always my sandwich was good, with fresh ingredients. I've come to expect this from Jimmy Johns, the veggies are always fresh. The service is ok, I get greeted upon entering and leaving, so that's pretty good. This location is A-OK with me. read more

I have ordered from here many times and they never fail to impress me. My sandwiches are always made fast and taste fresh and delicious. My last order was placed online, and I noticed that I was charged twice, but the store immediately called and informed me of the issue and explained how it would be corrected. UPDATE: Despite initially not wanting to order from here again, I didn't want to leave the building, so I decided to give them another shot. While they were prompt this time around, they ended up forgetting mustard packets AGAIN! This time, I clearly stated it more than once! Is it that hard to throw two or three packets into the bag on your way out the door. :-( I've ordered from this specific location three times now in the past week and a half. The first time was a large order for everyone in the office. There were 4 of us. The order took a bit long to get here, but for a large order, it's understandable. When I called and spoke with someone, he was very nice in explaining they have some new people and there was a lunch rush. No biggie. However, when our food arrived, they had only given us one straw for two drinks, and we had requested mustard packets which didn't come. The second time I ordered alone. Again, took a really long time to get to me. When I googled show long the restaurant away from my building is, it said 3 minutes. A sandwich ordered at 12:00 should not be delivered 40 minutes later with a driving time of 3 minutes...However, everything was right. Nothing on my sandwich was wrong, they gave me an additional straw that wasn't needed but, better than not having even one, and they added the mustard packets into the bag. The third time (and last time) was today. Again, I ordered the sandwich around 11:00 this time, and it showed up at 11:47 PM just as I was about to pick up the phone to begin complaining. The delivery driver didn't say two words to me, just handed me the receipt, I signed and he was on his merry way. When I opened the bag, I again was left without mustard packets, but everything on the sandwich was okay... Honestly, when you order online it gives you a specific list of what the customer wants. How hard is it to read what they'd like and add it to the bag? Sounds like a bunch of incompetent, lazy employees to me. If I were you, I'd visit another sandwich place like Subway. At least you'll be able to see the sandwich the employee makes for you. I won't be ordering from here again. read more

Because of where I live, I can only order delivery service through this store. I saw all the bad reviews but thought I'd give this store a chance. I thought the guy who took down my name and address got it correctly but apparently not. The delivery guy called me from a different street. I had to direct him to my address. Specific directions were to deliver to the side door. Delivery guy shows up at front door. I had to go outside and yell for him to come to the back door. He says that he knocked on the side door. Funny thing is, if he had, our Rottweiler would have barked. Delivery driver then had to run back to his car to get a pen so that I could sign the sales receipt. Poor guy! Had to put up with my frustration... Now about the food. Ordered a tuna salad sandwich expecting white albacore tuna. It wasn't. The sandwich tasted alright though. Also ordered the turkey sandwich. Also, just okay. Bread on both sandwiches were somewhat dry. Meats and cheese were just okay. Lettuce, tomatoes and cucumbers were fresh. Not bad customer service or food. Just need to step it up a little. Our family really likes Jersey Mikes so I'm not sure I will be a patron at this store. read more

The River St location in Aurora can't ever seem to get anything correct. We have ordered multiple times and every time something is wrong or missing. Ordered last night a slim 2 (roast beef) with cheese, received ham & cheese. I called and the person I talked to said I will remake the roast beef with cheese and run it over. I didn't eat it last night and when I opened it today it had 2 slices of roast beef.....no cheese! How difficult is it to make a sandwich with 2 ingredients! Just contacted the store and was told they couldn't credit the sandwich to the card used because it would mean he would have to get the general manager to do that. Heavens, let's not inconvenience the general manager but you don't mind at all inconveniencing your customers. They will give me a free sandwich next time I order....hell might freeze over before I order from this location again! read more

Boo to you Jimmy Johns at 160s River St. in Aurora IL. "Subs so fast you'll freak" You took over an hour to deliver two sandwiches!! You bet I freaked. I live less than a mile away. I even called you to check up on the order. All you could tell me is you are busy as only two people were working, way to make me feel like a valued customer. When I asked for a price break due to the delay you stated you could not do that as the price is locked by corporate, again stellar service. I hope you enjoyed my patronage, as I will never again wait on your ultra slow delivery to not enjoy your relatively sub-par avocado spread oozing out of a lackluster Vegetarian.
