    Everything old is new again

We spent Saturday morning hiking in and around Naperville and this recently re-opened in Illinois restaurant chain was calling to my husband. He craves their greasy tacos and would get them every time we visited family in Arizona after the franchise was banned in Illinois. We ordered at the kiosk so I could see all the gluten free options and our order was freshly made in about ten minutes. It was pretty empty for noon on a weekend. The decor is big on the clownish cartoon mascot Jack. A nostalgic moment was had recalling our dating days going through the drive thru for a late night snack after a night at a disco or bar or returning from one of our band's gigs. Thanks for the memories Jack!

Who would sit next to two tables of loud brats on purpose?

There is so much wrong with this place. My husband's fault for wanting to come here. We had never been to a JIB before. The place was so loud and so cold, and the wait for the food (not including the long line was half an hour! Thank goodness I had my usual avocado in my bag. I write reviews from a vegan, vegetarian and omnivore point of view. Nothing vegan here. Vegetarians might get by with a LOT of modifications and omnivore and omnivore can do just fine. The service could be a lot better, and all of the self-order kiosks are out of order. Never coming back.

Arrived at this location at 8:45 pm on a Saturday night. We were going to go inside to eat with our 11 month old toddler. Get to the door and it locked. People are inside. Hours are not posted on the door. Very disappointing and inconvenient. In addition, this location is still not showing up on the app so you cannot order ahead or use any app promotions.

    Welcome

Happy to see Jack in the Box returning to the Chicago area. This location is on Ogden avenue just east of Naperville Road. My tip is to review the menu before placing your order at the kiosk.

2 tacos and an egg roll should NOT take 25 minutes in the drive thru.
    Bonnie B.

DO NOT RECOMMEND! 25 minutes in the drive-thru for an egg roll and 2 tacos. And on top of that issue, Burger King tacos are much tastier than the ones this location is serving. You'd think the tacos would be hot and fresh after waiting so long but they were cold, stale, and the lettuce inside was complete mush. I can't believe I failed to read all the Yelp and Google reviews before giving this place a shot. Bunch of lazy clueless teenagers just standing around in plain sight doing diddly squat. Save your time and money.

I grew up eating Jack in the box in California. This ain't that!!! I've read other reviews so I tried to wait for this place to 'work out the kinks,'..I don't think that they have. 5:30pm and we were the only car there, even though Ogden was full of traffic. We ordered 2 tacos,a ultimate bacon cheeseburger, curly fries, and a soda. I was most excited 4 the tacos because those were my go to. I was so disappointed, they were beyond greasy and has that old oil smell,so we tossed them. Burger King has a better(similar) taco..its served at the location near Lemobt rd,near a dollar tree. The burger was ok,nothing special for the price, but they did grill the onions when we asked them too, which is great! The curly fries smelled like old oil and were too greasy, someone needs 2 be trained on those fried foods. The 2 stars are for the great customer service,ok burger, and very large medium sized soda. I won't return until I start seeing cars there because that might mean that they improved.

No, there is no after hours pick up.

First of all, it had a big built in sign above the door that says "Open Late" but they close at 10pm. Then they have an after hours and online pick up window, but it's not in use. So get here by 10pm or they will threaten to fight you. Seriously, when I complained about them being closed to an employee who was cleaning up the lot after 10pm he told me to get out of my car and say it to his face. Finally today we got here much earlier for dinner; the place is empty. They made the food and then kept it behind the counter getting cold for five minutes until I could get someone's attention and tell them my name and then another two minutes while the got the food from behind the wall. Nobody greeted me or acknowledged me in any way. Pathetic. The tacos were greasy messes that tasted very strange. They were out of onions even though it seems nobody eats here. Good luck, Jack in the Box, and good luck to anyone who eats here.

    An empty counter. I wait.

I like Jack. Since they opened last summer, I stop there a few tines a month, usually in the morning. When I do, I am consistently receipt #3000 (e.g. their first indoor Customer). Their food is good, and the staff is always friendly - essential in the morning! As a frequent Customer, I do have some observations, though: 1. They are SLOW. This morning, I waited at an empty counter for 7 minutes before I was even ACKNOWLEDGED. Several people backstage saw me, but did not react... that won't do. I dislike Drive Through's - too many innocent mistakes, and when it's 4* outside, it fools the food too much. I go inside for Human Interaction, even though I take-out and eat in the car (nicer ambience). 2. They are SLOW, typically 7+ minutes from pay to food. I understand I'm usually the first Indoor customer, and the food is made to order. But at G&G or McD's a quarter mile away, I be average 2 minutes from pay to food. Just sayin'. 3. When i get the food, it's never HOT. Warm, maybe, lukewarm, never "cold", but never HOT, either. On 4* Chicago mornings, I want HOT! 4. They open too late. McD's is open at 5, G&G at 7. Jack doesn't open his eyes until 8, and then I need to factor in "slow + slow". I'd stop more often if they were open earlier. Maybe the food would be hotter? None of these are reasons not to go - just personal specific gripes. I'm a "hard customer", at 65, remembering what Customer Service used to be before this gansta Internet Age. Perhaps I've outlived *MY* usefulness. It's up to the Franchisee where to go from here. I'm just providing feedback.

Probably more of a 3.5 with the breakfast croissant, the number 21 has ham, bacon, fried egg and cheese. Combo includes hashbrown and coffee. Hashbrown was just barely warm. Bacon could use some crisp to it. Staff were friendly and helpful. Definitely need to try the tiny chicken tacos, the cashier's favorite. She said the other tacos are soy? Inside of the former Arby's is nicely remodeled and spotless. They just opened Monday 8/04. Dinner crowd was backed up onto Ogden for last night.

BIEN HERE BEFORE As…read morepart of the Bien Trucha restaurant family, Quiubo serves some familiar flavors in downtown Naperville. The Water St area has a great variety of restaurants including Vasili's (modern Greek), Blue Sake (sushi), SixtyFour Wine Bar and Quiubo (modern Mexican).  Technically I ate from here once - takeout during covid - but it was so long ago it might as well not count.  Most recently, my wife and I came here for dinner on a Friday in late June and sat outside. The sangria ($14) was strong, I appreciated the extra touches like apple bitters and a float of bourbon.  My wife loved the Pa'Dentro ($15), a cocktail with tequila, passion fruit, and orange liqueur.  The mango habanero margarita ($15) was also mixed perfectly.  5/5 The guacamole ($11) was fresh and flavorful: avocado, tomatillo, onion, cilantro, serrano and lime.  My wife found it a bit too spicy (diced serrano adds more heat than a traditional jalapeno) but I enjoyed it despite a small-ish portion.  4/5 We also got a queso fundido de camaron ($16): melted chihuahua cheese, red onion and pan seared shrimp, with tortillas and cilantro-serrano sauce.  Pan searing the shrimp instead of grilling them is certainly a choice....but not one I'd make again.  2/5 Esquites ($8.50), on the other hand, were awesome: grilled corn, epazote butter, lemon aioli, cotija cheese, tajin.  One of the best we've tried in a long time, but for $9 we expected a lot more elote!  5/5 The birria tacos (2 for $11) were very good; my wife was right to point out they should've come with a cup of birria juice on the side.  The tacos al pastor (2 for $10) were delicious: marinated pork with pineapple, cilantro, onion and salsa morita.  Next time, more tacos!  4.5/5 For dessert we got flan ($10), a creamy vanilla custard with caramel, rompope and cookie crumbs.  It was a denser style of flan and tasted amazing, but I don't know how I feel about that random pile of cookie dust.  4/5 Bread = 4.5 Circuses = 3.5 It took way too long for a server to come over and take our order at the beginning.  Thankfully the food came out FAST!  The bar, on the other hand, was lagging big time.  We were more than halfway finished with dinner by the time our cocktails showed up. Also important note for cheapskates like me: they do not serve free chips & salsa.  Quiubo isn't that kind of place, so if you want salsa with chips, you'll have to pay for it. * TL;DR * Rest assured you can get the same high quality tacos and cocktails from the Bien Trucha group. We were really impressed with a couple items like the esquites/elotes and al pastor tacos, as well as the atmosphere inside.  The vibes outside were solid and even though service was slow at first, we'd love to come back.  I'd recommend Quiubo for sure.

We stopped in for a family lunch and I ordered three tacos--a birria, asada, and al pastor--along with a prickly pear margarita. Everything was well-seasoned, incredibly tender, and tasted fresh. The quality genuinely reminded me of more upscale spots like A Toda Madre or Bien Trucha. The prickly pear margarita was on the smaller side, but they certainly didn't skimp on the tequila. It was crisp, refreshing, and paired perfectly with my meal. Despite a busy Saturday afternoon, service was quick and friendly, and more importantly everyone in our party loved their food and couldn't stop talking about how fresh and flavorful everything was. We also appreciated the toppings bar and salsa selection, which made it easy to customize each taco exactly how we wanted. My only knock is that several tables sat dirty for a while after guests left, and the dining room didn't seem to get much attention. Since this was our first visit during a busy lunch rush, I'm hesitant to say that's the norm, but it was noticeable... Overall, we left happy, full, and already talking about what we'd order next time. We'll definitely be back to work our way through more of the menu.

Would highly recommend this place for Mexican food lovers.
