Never been to an A&w restaurant before today. How have I lived this long?! So good!! I had the Coney cheese dog combo, upgraded to onion rings and a root beer cream something (sorry, I forgot the name.. it was like root beer mixed with ice cream like a shake.) The drink was awesome, I could still feel the fizz from the root beer. Onion rings were delicious, cooked to perfection and I loved that the onion didn't slide out every time I took a bite. The Coney Island cheese dog was also perfect. Usually I pull off pieces of bun when I have chili dogs because it's just too much bread and too dry. Not so with this hot dog. Just the right blend of soft, squishy bread, dog, and toppings. Gotta give a shout-out to the friendly staff, too. Best 13 bucks I've spent in a long time. Just as good as I remember! I mean it's fast food but with love and some better ingredients. The service is always great I honestly think it's the same manager from like 10 years ago. My buddy and I came here on our lunch break. We were only looking for something quick and light- so we skipped the combo meals and got 2 coney dogs each. Ooey-Gooey goodness to the max! These simple chili dogs did the trick! Chili, cheese, and onion on a steamed dog in a steamed bun- delicious! We also ordered 2 large root beers which were served in a frosted glass mug! I've used their drive thru service lots of times and the food is always good. Today I dined inside. It's a nice clean, well run restaurant. Service is great. Servers are pleasant. I changed it up this visit. Instead of the usual burger or hot dog, I ordered the codfish basket. It comes with fries and Cole slaw. Also ordered their chili. All very good. I hadn't been to this A&W for years but was driving down Route 31 towards Batavia to head to Portillo's and was just about to stop to get gas when all the ads on the windows caught my eye and I thought to myself "well, they have burgers and onion rings there. Maybe I can save myself a trip?" And so as I was pumping I looked over the menu on my phone and noticed another ad saying I could get 20% off my first online order. Seeing that they offer a spicy version of their Double Papa Burger at a better price than other burger spots was the first indication that my gut may have steered me in the right direction. Considering I was getting a little discount I decided to go ahead and get the double cheeseburger with bacon combo with fries and a root beer float and a single chicken tender and some onion rings. I placed the order and drove back over to A&W. I have to say that I was kind of surprised at how clean the inside of the restaurant was. I seemed to remember it being pretty lived in. The workers were all really friendly and told me my order would be ready in a moment and I got a wave of nostalgia to my high school days when I saw them go to the tap to make my root beer float fresh. Everything tasted great when I got back home. The burger patties and bacon were cooked well and the spicy sauce was a nice touch but I especially appreciated not having to go through the trouble of adding my own peppers. Their fries are fine but I suspect they probably taste better right out of the fryer. The onion rings were crispy and big and definitely a hit. A surprise standout was the chicken tender. The seasoning and crispiness of the batter and quality of the meat was great. I am kind of kicking myself that I hadn't really thought of stopping by A&W more recently but I will definitely consider them for future burger nights. read more

Seeing one of these still existing made younger me jump for joy. I use to always go to the Woodfield mall location when I was a little girl so I was excited to see one near my brother-in-law's house. My husband and I grabbed a quick meal here through the drive thru. Because of lent we ordered chicken and fish which surprisingly was yummy. We also got cheese curds and root beer floats. Gobbled it all up. My only issue is that once we pulled around we saw advertisements inside for shrimp and fish & chips that weren't on the drive thru menu so that sucked because I would've gotten the shrimp. read more

It was a little nostalgic for me to see A & W, so I stopped in for lunch. Haven't been to one in 5-10 years... Service (5/5). An elderly lady was coughing pretty hard and the manager came by to check on her. Then the power went out, and the cashier came by and asked if we were ok. Frosty mug (5+/5). Root beer in a frosty mug, what's not to like? Refreshing, cold, sweet, and good to the last drop. Papa burger (5/5). I asked, and they didn't have the mama burger--my go to for years. But the papa burger with 2 patties is a quality burger. The toppings just go together. Nothing stood out, just good. Fries (3/5). Hard to compete with a large Ronald McDonald salty special! I was hungry for a hotdog and a nice cold root beer that was a real hot day and I needed a bite to eat and something to drink. I stopped there went in trying to find value meal or something like that very difficult to find that information so I just ordered a hotdog and a root beer and it was like five dollars or something over there at it. It was I thought expensive for what I just received, the people were OK and when I went up to ask him about some of their specials and things they were helpful I asked if they had free refills and they do and I got a free refill and sit back down and enjoy the air conditioning, but there needs to be a better way of being able to look through their offerings and come up with a choice that meet your needs read more

First time trying A & W. The food is made fresh and this place almost reminds me of Culver's. Burger Pattie's are thin but very tasty and all of the ingredients is fresh. The fries were very crispy and seasoned well. However the portion of fries is small just like Culver's. My only complaint is the combo meals don't come with drinks. They charge you separately. I didn't know that when ordering and the guy asked what I wanted to drink assuming that it came with the combo meal. So beware that drinks are extra so that does make this place more pricer than other places. Regardless the food way was very good especially for a chain place. read more

I expected better from my memory if A&W restaurants in the past. I've only been once and haven't returned. I felt like I was served a regular Oscar Meyer hotdog from the grocery store. In my opinion as a comparison a simple Costco hotdog is better than what I received with my order of a Chicago Dog. Their burgers are fresh, meaty, flavorful, and yummy. Their fries are crispy and tasty. Plus, it comes with a very cool and refreshing drink. They also offer some sundaes, root beer, nuggets, hotdog sandwiches, coleslaw, cheese curds, and others. Everything was great and delicious. They have everything that we are looking for and expecting from a fast-food restaurant. They even exceeded my expectations and I am really impressed. The whole place is wide and organized. Once you enter you can see their big menu and food selections. They also have a big statue of A&W inside their place. The tables and chairs are perfectly aligned. The interior is bright and gives a nice vibe. They also have outdoor seating that is very enjoyable. You can eat your food while watching the cars and people passing by. Definitely a gem in this area. This is the place for all of us. I would definitely pay a visit here again when I got some free time. This may be one of the nicer A&W's I have ever been too, and I assure you as I travel for work I have been to a lot of A&W's.
