Yesterday (9/12/13) in the terrible flooding, I was able to order 60 box lunches from this location and they went ABOVE and BEYOND to make sure we were satisfied. We requested the order 2 hours in advance and they called to confirm the order was on its way and when it was a bit late (understandably in our area it was flooding to where many streets were closed down) but the driver still called to inform us he was on the way! When he arrived, was in great spirits and brought in all the bags and helped us set up. Normally we order at least once a week for single orders and everyone is always polite and quick. The food is always wonderful. Thank you Lewiston location for your continuing exceptional service and consistency. Our entire company is extremely grateful and equally impressed. This is LITERALLY the worst Jimmy John's I've ever been to. The fact that I've ordered from here multiple times makes me ashamed of myself. I got rid of all my JJ apps and stuff on my phone because it is so bad. The food always tastes stale, poorly made. The meat is awful! Food was good but even entering specific delivery details as to what side of the building and what door to deliver too they still deliver it to whatever door they want and never contact or confirm with you. After waiting almost an hour I called the shop and asked for an update and was told it was barely out for delivery. I ordered via Door Dash and they handle their own deliveries for orders via the app. I received a phone call saying they had no drivers and would be cancelling my order. The worst Jimmy John's I've ever been too! The workers were very unprofessional and unsanitary. The employees seemed super unorganized and overwhelmed and it was only my husband and I in there. After making our sandwiches someone came in and I noticed that they handled money with their gloves on, one of them scratched their head and put their hands up to their mouth and then went back to making sandwiches with the same gloves on. Gross! I lost my appetite and couldn't finish eating. It was a guy and a young girl. I'm pretty sure the girl wasn't even an employee. After well over a hour still no food... I called the location to get a status update and spoke to the manager where he did apologize and offered to cancel my order. I explained that my lunch out was almost over and I would still like to eat. A proper manager would have still had the order delivered and refunded my money or at least offered me something for the next time I'd be so dumb to order from there again. The staff was great! And even though the 2 people that ordered after us got their food first, I am a patient person and we didn't wait long. I can't believe Jimmy Johns hasn't pulled this store from their chain. I stopped in for a sandwich and ordered what I always get from other stores. About 12 minutes later I politely said I needed either the sandwich or a refund because I had a meeting next door I had to be on time for. She said I'd have to wait, about another 5 minutes later she started processing my refund as one of her workers placed the sandwich on the counter for me. As I reached for it she snapped it up and said you don't get it. You wanted a refund. I asked, "Don't I even get the choice?" She said No! I said well that's not very good customer service. At which time this nasty mean angry little woman named Gabby explained to me she owns the store and I can complain to anyone I want she doesn't care. First, the good. The service is extremely fast here, even during the lunch rush. Sandwiches are often ready before I'm done paying(!), and the employees seem to take pride in their work, which is great! Additionally, I love the flavor of the sandwiches, despite their humble/simple composition. Sometimes less is more, and this is certainly one of those times. Unfortunately, nothing is perfect. The peppers in particular, while having a spectacular flavor, are haphazardly cut, and consistently include stems and cores. These appear to be pre-canned (jarred), so I don't think it's the employees' fault, but the probably the chain trying to save a buck (or maybe such a thing is popular somewhere -- certainly not with me). Worse, every time I've eaten there, which has probably been 5-6 times over the past year, I've had stomach cramps and -- how to put this delicately -- rapid-onset, low consistency movements of the lower intestine. So why would I keep going back? I guess each time I hoped that my previous experience was a fluke. Maybe something was a bit off, or some other meal that day was the true culprit. But I must come to grips with reality: The food here consistently makes me ill. Two stars instead of one, giving the benefit of the doubt that my experiences have been atypical, or else that it's some conflict between the sauce and my personal digestive tract.
