Hubby and I were looking for a quick meal, other than fat food. We were on our way to another eatery and since hubby wanted a burger we found Jimmy's Hula's. Well, there wasn't signage to 'seat yourself' or 'wait to be seated' which was a bit confusing for the first time. Nor was there a greeter/host for seating. The guy behind the bar just looked at us as to say 'don't ask me'. Overall, the staff attitudes were a bit off putting due to their lack of 'energy'. The food... Hubby ordered a cheeseburger with fries. It looked tasty and he enjoyed it. My fish taco was tasty. The negative part comes to the side of tortilla chips. They tasted stale, old, and were cold, like they sat out for a day or more. There were approximately 8 chips or so on the platter. The overall look of the place was very eclectic and definitely had a beach + Jamaica vibe going on. The wall decor was quite varied, which lends itself to that unique vibe. Also, the restaurant was colorful and somewhat nicely color coordinated. The glass garage doors captured that eclectic atmosphere too. Unfortunately, we'll not visit again. It's important to maintain a welcoming atmosphere, fresh sides, and a sense of customer satisfaction. Too bad. BTW, the ladies room could use a bit more cleaning.

Jimmy Hula's is incredibly dependable in Ormand Beach on Granada that serves as a friendly come-as-you-are tacos and bowls joint for locals and those visiting that know about it from the locals. The tacos are magical as I devoured each of my three with voracious glee. The servers are very friendly and patient, and we had our food within a few minutes of ordering. Sitting in the outdoor seating area, I enjoyed the Luau tacos that were made with teriyaki chicken, pineapple mango pico, and creamy teriyaki sauce. The fire-roasted avocados were also very creamy with spice from the hot sauce basted on top. The vibes are very chill and relaxed. They have a full liquor bar and the colors of the walls and trim represent a relaxed cabana environment that could be on an island retreat. Would return to try more of the menu, without question.

A true vibe... Nestled in a shopping plaza, you'd never expect to stumble upon this hidden gem of a restaurant... The quick service style mix with upbeat atmosphere and great live music makes for a real treat! The prices are incredible, and the food speaks for itself. Things tend to take a little while, but it's great food and Gets to be quite the hopping spot!

My go to stop on vacation. A must at least twice during the week, and one of those has to be to go eaten on the beach. The flavor combos are outstanding, and never disappoint. The Kingston taco is a MUST! 10/10

This hit the spot! Having never been here before, I didn't know that it was a local Florida chain. Now I just wish that they had more locations across the US! I came in with my mom for a quick lunch. We walked inside and ordered at the counter, grabbed a number, and sat on their covered patio outside. It's in a shopping plaza, so not the cutest of views, but we wanted to enjoy the warmer weather. The young man who took our order was very kind. Our food came out within I think about 10 to 15 minutes? (We came on a Wednesday late afternoon with rainy weather) The Zion Bowl was absolutely to die for. Now I just wish I had the recipe recipe for myself so I could make it at home. My mom also said that the Pokado also really filling with the grilled avocado and poke on top. If I lived in the area, I would probably have this for lunch at least once a week. We left feeling so satisfied and full. Also, the price point was pretty awesome in comparison to what it'd be at home. Jimmy, two thumbs up!

The wipeout tacos were really good. They have fries inside them which was a weird concept to me but they ended up being really good. The chips that came with them were stale. The waitress/cashier that took our order seemed like we were bothering her. There was a one man band playing live. I wasn't a fan of the order at the bar and then sit at the table. No service at the table at all but I guess that their restaurant model.

So we entered and we were walked over to a booth outside where we made our order. I cannot recall what my order was, but I believe it was a chicken fajita and it was absolutely delicious. What about two or three wraps that came attached to it. My friend got the chicken, shrimp and I believe steak bowl. She enjoyed hers as well. The best part about the meal was probably the drinks. Those were super strong and definitely made their way through us as we enjoyed our meal along with conversation. The best part about this restaurant is probably the fact that it was empty/lunchtime at the moment so we were served and taken care of extremely well. We left a generous tip and if I'm ever in the area for Mexican food, I'll certainly be back.

Several employees were comfortably hanging out in a booth, laughing and having what looked like the employee reunion of the year, while customers were left to figure things out on their own. After realizing we had become invisible, we made our way to the bar and waited about eight minutes for the bartender. We ordered a Pinot Grigio and a Bacardi and Diet Coke--a request we assumed wouldn't require a treasure map. The bartender then informed us, in so many words, that he wasn't sure what white rum was. He wandered off in search of this mysterious mythical spirit... and was never seen again. I'm assuming he's still out there somewhere, bravely searching the seven seas for Bacardi. After another four minutes of waiting, we decided to make our own great escape. We left thirsty, amused, and wondering if we had accidentally wandered into an improv comedy show instead of a restaurant. One star for the free entertainment. Zero stars for the service.

I got three and I was full by the first taco, which is probably because I ate so much guacamole and chips! If you come here, which you totally should, try the guacamole and the street tacos. I only tried the al pastor, but I am sure everything tastes divine. I will be going back a lot so I will update the review accordingly. Our waitress' name was Kata (nickname for Katalina). The service she provided was fantastic and she also spoke Spanish which I loved. I felt like I was back home speaking with my own family. The ambiance was amazing as well. They have a beautiful mural of Frida Khalo which is perfect for photos -- it's so beautiful! The spot is quiet when I went today around 1500 (3pm). I loved it that way because that's what I prefer, but if you're into live music and more people then they have this option for you as well. I believe they have live music every Friday of the month. It's live mariachi band and you get to enjoy some yummy drinks and of course the delicious food. I am literally so crazy about these tacos -- it's the best I've had in this area all together.
