The food is half way decent, but nothing that really wows me. The two items I would recommend are the fish tacos and ahi tuna salad. The two star review is mainly for the service there, for example the last time I went I had a ditzy waitress who it seemed you had to track down to get anything including the check, who found it necessary to "correct" me when I ordered the ahi tuna salad, apparently it's now the mahi tuna salad (moron), and got my girl friends order completely wrong. Due to this and other service related incidents, I cannot recommend this place (other than the aforementioned items of food) and I will not be returning. read more

Jimmy Changas has pissed me off for the last time. The service was excellent. That was the only plus. But everything else was awful. My family was celebrating my grandmas 70th birthday, and we got there 2 hours early, since we had a large group (about 20 people). We tried to make a reservation or book a party, but we were told that they don't do that. But we were prepared to wait patiently for a table that could accommodate all of us. As a person that has been to Jimmy Changa's several times, I am fully aware that they can accommodate large parties. I've been before and they had sat 24 of us all together at the same table. When we were taken to our table, we were shocked to find that they just gave us 3 booths all separated, along with an 8 top table. So my family, that I haven't seen in quite some time, were all separated, after we had SPECIFICALLY REQUESTED to be sat all together. After that lovely occurrence, our chips came out cold and then my enchiladas were cold after that. Then, I felt like I had been hit by a truck, because of the food. I only have this problem with food from this establishment. Maybe if Jimmy's improved on customer service from the very beginning, they could improve. But even then, the food isn't all that impressive anyways. read more

We began eating at this location with in the 1st week of it's opening. If I had written this review with in the first 6 months, it would have gotten a 4/5 star review. Since I am now writing it at a much later date and numerous visits, my perception has changed. The last 4 times we have been here for either lunch or dinner, the service has progressively gotten worse. We are continuously being sat at the very back corner of the dining room. I have even complained and we were not moved to a "open" table that I could see in areas other that the back corner. Last night was my final straw with this location.We once again were sat in the same location (I will give in that it was very busy and tables were scarce). Our waiter took our drink order BEFORE we had actually sat down with the hostess still standing with us. Drinks came, a few minutes later the plates were put on the table for the Queso that we had ordered. A few minutes later I asked about the Queso only to be told the kitchen was backed up. Finally this was resolved. We ate our dinner and never being approached for drink refills by our waiter, however he was all over the tables next to us. He even bused the table right next to ours and never even glanced at us. I finally flagged him down and asked for our check. I do like the food, however until changes are made, I will return my business down the road at another well established Mexican food establishment. read more

I always enjoy my visits to Jimmy Changas. This place is always popping and filled with hungry patrons. My favorite dish is the Seared Ahi Tuna Salad because the fish is fresh and cooked perfectly but I recently tried the Poblano soup and it stayed on my mind for a whole weekend and I even tried to make it but gosh darnet I'm just not cut out for making creamy poblano soup. Service is usually pretty fast and friendly and they are really good with large groups. I have been here plenty with coworkers, my husband and friends and I can say everyone loves it. The chips are awesome because they have this light seasoning on them but its still bad because you can't stop eating them. The look of the restaurant is trendy but still rustic and has a cool, vibrant feel. They have a large outdoor patio and play area for the children. I suggest you give it a try because I will be returning for sure. read more

Beef & chicken fajitas were cooked perfectly with great juicy flavor. Charro beans and rice were good. Let downs were the flour tortillas flavor, tasted like store bought packaged tortillas and the cold red salsa. Pappasitos has them beat on this. I would give this place 3 1/2 stars. I know everyone likes this place. I used to love it. It seems to me everything has changed a little. The fajitas taste different. The flour tortillas taste different. To me the food is ok, service is ok. The last 2 times I've gone my server has not been great. Personally prefer Johnny tamales and my #1 pick is always Lupe Tortillas. If it wasn't too far I would've gone there instead. read more

Love this place!! It's always packed, but we rarely ever wait. The best feature about this restaurant is the family friendly staff and playground. About 3 days a week I have to go to lunch with work colleagues, which means I have had my fair share of the area's Tex-mex offerings. The food at this place (atleast the 3 dishes I will mention) is much better than your average tex-mex spot. I have been several times and the food has been great each time. I've been here a few times and haven't been disappointed yet... friendly, prompt, and accurate service in spite of an always busy and full restaurant. My favorite dish is the Shrimp Diablo. The creamy green salsa is the best! I ate there about 3X plus a week when I lived in Dickinson, TX. If I wasn't getting their Shrimp Diablo, I was getting their taco salads for lunch. Huge portions, great price. LOVED the service. The staff is so friendly and they are very well organized. I love coming to Jimmy's! This is my all-time favorite restaurant. If you are in the food for Tex-Mex food, make sure to stop by. The place is very family friendly. Wait times are never crazy. Even with the whole covid situation this place has made it work. Very sanitized, the places are not overcrowded, and the waiters are always attentive and courteous. Tables are spaced out and capacity is under limit just to make everyone feel comfortable. Menus are fully digital. This business knows how to work their way through the pandemic. A face mask is required within the inside/outside unless eating or drinking. Wear a mask upon entering and leaving or going to the restroom. The food per usual is always great. Everything is made to order. As you sit down you get chips and salsa. The green salsa is soo good! The best I have ever tried. I always order the dipping queso because it is the best. It's a very different queso from other Tex-Mex restaurants. I come here about once every week and its always a great environment. For my main plate I order the chicken and beef fajitas which are authentic and rich in flavor. It comes paired with rice and refried of charro beans. The flour tortillas are my ultimate favorite. The food is good. The service was great. I can't complain. Well, maybe. I did like both salsas. They have that nice creamy green one that I love. The tortillas are amazing. They're the fluffy kind. Love those. You only get 2 though so make sure you order extra if you want more than 2. The beer glasses are awesome. They're big! Haha! The only thing I didn't like was NO guacamole OR pico came with our beef fajitas. I'm used to my pico, guaci, cheese, beans, and rice. Come on now! Am I just spoiled? All we got was rice, beans, and shredded cheese. Boo! If I'm going to pay that much for fajitas or order some to begin with, I expect to get ALL the fixins, not just some.
