The review is for this specific location only. I don't know how the other location operate but from the experience here, we sure as hell wont be checking the other one. So we came in last night around 7pm bc we were in the area and my son was craving sashimi. Sat down and ordered a bunch of rolls with some sashimi. The food was decent with the price. We've been at many sushi places from the bay to central valley and gotta be honest, the price and portion size here is unbeatable especially the sashimi pieces. They were sliced twice as thick as other places. Now everything was going well until we paid the bill and walked to our car. As we got in our car about to leave, a kitchen staff with apron came in the restroom and walked out without washing his hand. Then another one came in to the other stall, walked out, light a cigaret and smoke for a bit before got called in the kitchen again, of course wasn't washing his hand. This place is a bit of a hole in the wall. The staff is friendly and helpful. The place is clean and has some cool wall art We started with the spicy edamame as an appetizer. It was pretty tasty. We each got our own rolls and some hand rolls too. They were all pretty good. My only complaint is that they were so big it was hard to fit them into my mouth. The service was great, our server (who also may have owned the place? I'm not sure) was very sweet! She also remembered my moms order which is specific to her dietary needs and was very kind about it and ensured she'd be taken care of, which she was. Jimmies Place in Stockton is truly a hidden gem! I first heard about it at a family function when my cousin brought one of their party platters. The rolls were on point and the price for 10 rolls was incredibly reasonable. Up until now, I only had Jimmies during family gatherings, and their rolls have never disappointed. I happened to be in the area recently, and decided to place my own order. I end up ordering online - my food was ready in a short amount of time and pick up was quick. They have a lot to offer on the menu, so it can feel a bit overwhelming, but I went with takeout and kept it simple. SUSHI Orange Dragon Roll - 10/10 So good! I remember this being on the party platter, and it tasted just as amazing as before. Salmon Nigiri - 10/10 Fresh and delicious. Salmon Deluxe Roll - 10/10 Refreshing, flavorful, and overall a great roll. Salmon Avocado Hand Roll - 8/10 This one was just okay for me. The salmon pieces were a bit too thick for my preference. APPETIZER Jalapeño Pepper with Crab & Cream Cheese - 10/10 Spicy, flavorful, and absolutely delicious! Jimmies is an excellent spot for sushi rolls, especially their party platters. Came here for dinner due to Yelp's high ratings and a recommendation from a friend. Parking was very limited that we had to park on the street. I wanted to order take out but was told it would be a 45 min wait. We ended up dining in instead which would not be as much of a wait. There were only 2 people helping customers/taking & delivering orders. One had to clean a table for us to sit down. We opted to get a few rolls but was told that rolls would be a while to bring out and suggested that we order entrees instead and it would be brought out faster. We stuck with ordering 7 rolls and it took 30 minutes before our food came out. While waiting, I noticed a lot of door dashers/ uber eats picking up orders that they could barely keep up, causing to compromise the service for those dining in. I wouldn't be surprised that those picking up were occupying most (if not all) of their small parking lot. Our food came, but was not given chopsticks or napkins that we had to get them from another table. It's was so hard to flag a staff member down with most of their attention was attending to those picking up. They gave us 2 glasses of water, but we were a party of 4. The rolls were delicious and very affordable for my budget (under $10) BUT the service is another story. Food and service was great! We came on a Thursday night and it was not crowded. Dine in area is clean and brightly lit. I hope they decide to upgrade the patio area for outdoor dining, it'll be nice to sit under some lights or next to a fire pit at night during nice weather. My only issue is there is one bathroom outside around the side of the building, it's single stall (think gas station bathroom) . We got the Sakura roll which is a great choice! The Hamachi Carpaccio was also delicious !! And to mix things up we got the assorted sashimi (salmon, two tunas). Everything seemed so fresh. I also got the Fire Cracker, cuz what the hey ‍-- I like crunchy foods. But the prior orders were my favorites. My family and I have been coming here for sushi ever since the restaurant first opened. It originally started as a take-out only spot but later expanded to include dine-in service. The staff have always been very friendly, welcoming, and accommodating. When the restaurant first opened, the sushi was consistently fresh and delicious. However, during our most recent take-out order, we were a bit disappointed. The sushi arrived cold, the rice was slightly hard, and the tempura tasted a bit stale. In addition, our total sushi order was miscalculated, which was not a huge issue since it was the first time, but it would have been nice to have the correct total. Lately their service has been pretty bad. This is the second time already that they didn't make my order. You call the number, then you get a message that says to text them. You text them and place an order and they tell you the price, Venmo or zelle and how long it takes to make the order. This time they told me 80 minutes. Be careful what you order and eat from here . I have been eating here for a while and had no issues with food poisoning. But I just ordered 2 days ago . And I got really bad food poisoning. I'm pretty positive it was the fairy godmother roll that was bad . The scallops on there didn't taste right After the first roll I didn't even eat the rest of it . Called and texted , told them about it but all they did was apologize.... They are doing Chinese food there now too, so maybe there's a lack of food safety procedures or cross contaminating with foods . Would love for food and drug administration to go check them out . In regards to my service experience on 12/30. Jimmies sushi food itself we love, we're returning customers who normally don't run into any problems. This is a review to help others. We always place our order via doordash and pick up. We got a confirmation text that it's ready. I go to the country club location and ask for my order. I have an older rude white/hispanic lady at the counter helping me. She says she doesnt see my name and proceeds to tell me its at the other pacific location. Mind you i was in a rush as well where i should have seen the red flags to ask more questions, regardless I get to the pacific location. He too is busy, but he took up the time to pull up the confirmation text messages and the location of the pick up WHICH WAS COUNTRY CLUB LOCATION. what a waste of my 35 minute drive time. I understand mistakes happen but that's literally just your job to know how to triple verify if an order is at the location. read more

So we discovered Jimmie's sushi a couple years ago and have picked it up maybe 5 or 6 times. Each one of those times it was excellent if not phenomenal. No notes. Not to mention a serious deal/steal. Especially compared to other sushi in the general area like CoCoro. But It was only just a day or two after Thanksgiving that things unfortunately changed for us( I want to stress that I can only speak on our experiences). *Just as a quick aside the ordering process was strange for us that day. Typically we would DoorDash for delivery or pickup but for whatever reason on that day we called and there was no answer.Shortly after I tried calling I received a text requesting me to respond with my order. Then a second and a third text. I chalked it up to them being busy and maybe being understaffed so made sense. Wife and I texted our order and he said 15-20 minutes. Likely that has nothing to do with anything but I'm just kind of free associating. Anyways, back to it. I'm now walking into Mr D's pizza downtown to pick up my order and as I walk in the door, before I say a word, the lady bartender says (in a voice born of Whiskey and Marlboro) "they moved honey"! Then Another pretty well lubricated patron chimed in to say-"it's right next to Pacific Bowl". The velvet voiced lady bartender then reaffirms that. Btw, I was in a hoodie and sweats with a beanie on so nothing about me screamed sushi. I think they are just a big "regulars bar" and they knew I wasn't regular. My first mistake was taking that information at face value but I did. So im off to location #2-The "PAC bowl Jimmys ". I was thinking that maybe it was going to be by Chuck's or perhaps the old Back Door bar but I didn't see anything and I never pay attention. So I then decide to cut to the chase and call the number while in the parking lot. This time a lady answers and after clarification she proceeds to tell me that our food was at the Jimmy's Place bar on Country Club. Which is a 2 minute drive from our house. And 1.5 if you hit the green light. The one place that makes a little bit of sense to me. Go figure. And I take most of the responsibility on that one. That said, I do think that both customer and establishment could have benefited from informing customers calling and online of a location change(or addition or whatever is going on). Seems like a sensible thing to do. But as I said, this has only been my experience so maybe I'm the only that's run into this . Back to me now heading west on Country Club and I finally pull into location #3-the OG Jimmys. Right Across from Peoples Market, behind the reappropriated Chinese restaurant, and next to the self serve car wash. All of which were very familiar from my youth living off of CC. It's a familiar old haunt-Jimmy's Place. Where if I'm. It mistaken I think a couple bikers knifed a kid to death there many years back. Anyway, I go into the front of the property which faces Cunt Club(the now defunct Chinese joint ) and a bit to my surprise it was very clean with a pleasant lady at the counter. Maybe ut was always like that on the inside but . Anyway, Score!!! 2 rolls and the calamari-our usual order. I am starving by this point btw. But this "meal" would be very different from the 5 or 6 before it. And we noticed that even before taking one bite. It Smelled off. It wasn't a rotten or intensely unpleasant scent. More like a subtle funkiness. Then I looked more closely at the Calamari. Instead of the usual fair amount of Jalapeños were white semi sautéed looking onions with maybe 3 slices of my fave green peppers.it was also really really saturated with the sauce that they usually apply in a light to moderate drizzle. Likely to maintain a bit of a crunch. My attention then turned to the avocado in the rolls. One roll had pieces that looked stringy, slimy, with a very pale green color and light shades of brown. But the other roll looked bright green with a hard and smooth appearance. In other words,one was turning and the other need to be in its skin for a couple more days. Tuesday night we had hoped it might redeem itself. But I wouldn't be posting this if it had. Since Ive already gotten into the weeds with this sloppy and meandering retelling, I will just say that we were unable to eat Tuesday's dinner and it was a sad day . One last interesting thing: the old bar is now doubling as a very unfortunate looking all you can eat Chinese buffet. read more
