Every time I visit this joint I feel like I'm getting scammed. Forgetting the omnipresent up sell pressures, they change prices, add on special costs, and refuse coupons. Once they drain the oil from your vehicle, they have you by the short hairs. Today they charged $27 for a "special oil filter" on a Jeep Renegade. There is NOTHING special about a Renegade oil filter that you can buy for $9 tops at any auto parts store. This is the equivalent of picking my pocket to my face. I have not had the same issues at other Jiffy Lubes. It seems to be the Rockaway store and that franchisee's policies. Once every 2-3 years I make the mistake of returning when I'm under time pressure. It's close to my home. It's no surprise that I was the only customer on a weekend afternoon. I was at this location in Rockaway only once and was satisfied. I only had the oil changed and the mechanic doing the work was very informative and observant. He saw there were new windshield wipers in the back seat of my truck and offered to install them for free. He also informed me of the amount of gallons of oil my truck is taking and if the extra gallon was okay with a charge. These guys were so cool. My check engine light soon came on and I was not a happy driver. BJ and I were on our first road trip alone. I would recommend going somewhere else for an oil change. They always try to up sell you on things you don't need or really want done at a jiffy lube. Last oil change I got There i kept having my low oil filter light go on and off. I brought it back and I couldn't recreate the issue so they wouldn't investigate it. AVOID. Called Jiffy Lube on Rt.46 because the brake light came on on my dashboard. The guy, Antonio, tells me it's probably the brakes because that's what happens to Jettas (his words). I take the car in, they check it out, and an hour later I get a call that yes, it's the brakes, they need to be replaced. I give Antonio $600 to fix my brakes. When I pick the car up, Antonio tells me that he also drained the brake line and refilled it, and that if the brake light comes on again, to bring the car back and he'll drain the line again. Two weeks later I lost action in my brake pedal and the brake light reappears on my dashboard. I bring the car back to Antonio. Antonio tells me the brake light is on because the brake line is leaking. He offers me an estimate. These effers charged me $600 to fix something that wasn't causing the problem I needed them to fix. And when I confronted them about this? They offered me another estimate. These guys can go eff themselves because they'll eff you if you give them the chance. Advice? Take your car anywhere but here. Go two minutes west on 46 and go to Birch Tires. They don't charge you $600 to fix something that wasn't the problem. read more

My sister went to this Jiffy Lube for an oil change on her 2015 GMC Terrain with 29k miles. She spoke with the assistant manager, Chris, who convinced her that an "engine flush" was necessary. "Oil was severely overdue and dirty" is listed on the receipt. He showed her the oil filter and stated that the filter should never look as it did. Chris stated that it was common practice for dealerships not to change the oil or filter even if records show that they did. He stated this one was likely never changed. So on a relatively new car, my sister goes for an oil change and gets a bill for $181.98, with "discounts" that Chris did not have to give her, for a total of $159.92 charged to her. My sister informs me of the incident and needless to say, I'm skeptical. So I speak with multiple mechanics that I know who all state that she was likely scammed. I drive there the following day to ask about about it. I conducted a Carfax check on the vehicle to view the service records. I spoke with the manager who could not speak for the assistant manager, Chris, and stated I would need to come back tomorrow when he is working. He stated he would give me a free oil change to which I declined, stating I would never recommend that someone come back here. I told him that the Carfax showed that routine maintenance had been completed to which he stated I would need proof of that. I then drove to Paul Miller Subaru, the dealership that sold my sister the GMC, to get the service records. Records showed that at 22k miles, the oil and filter were changed. I then contacted Freehold Buick GMC, the dealership that originally sold the car and asked for their records. Their records showed that at 6k 10k and 17k miles the oil and filter were changed. I returned to Jiffy Lube the following day to speak with Chris. Chris stated that he guarantees that Paul Miller did not change oil and filter in the vehicle. Chris again stated, as he stated to my sister, that it is common practice for a dealership to not do the maintenance that they claim to do and that he "sees it all the time." Chris stated that he gets nothing from selling this "engine flush" service, ie commission, which I have yet to confirm. Chris also stated that he would not have offered me the free oil change if he had been here the previous day. I stated that I thought this establishment took advantage of a young girl who did not know any better. She did not have to say yes to the service, but when told that her engine was so dirty from lack of maintenance that if she did not flush the engine, it would only get worse next time, what was she supposed to do? An engine with 29k miles, with records that show regular maintenance was performed, and somehow the engine was so bad that this $100 service was necessary. I informed both dealerships that this Jiffy Lube claims their maintenance was not done, despite what their records show. In conclusion, I highly recommend avoiding this establishment. read more

Their oil change is priced at $40 and you can get a coupon for a substantial amount off on the Jiffy Lube site. They do the oil change quickly and clean up the car, top off fluids etc. Not a bad job at all. My issue is on the constant upsell of overpriced services. A transmission fluid change for $149? You got to be joking. Air filter change for another $25. And no matter how many times I ask them not to go into my glove box to check the cabin filter, they do it anyway and that would be another $25. So, if you just need a basic oil change, this is a good place, especially with the coupon off their site. If you know that other services are needed, go elsewhere. read more

Had my '06 Dodge Ram in for a lube and oil about 6 mod. ago. Before I left the lot I checked to make sure they had lubricated my ball joints. They hadn't: so I had to go through the line again. OK, everyone makes mistakes so 3 mos. ago I brought it in for service. About 10 miles from the shop on my way home the check engine light came on. I had it checked at the dealership and they said the code was for the wrong weight oil had been put into the vehicle. When I called, the manager told me that that was ridiculous, and no way they would do something like that, and if they did, no way could the truck know it! I took the dealer report(which cost me $95.99) to Jiffy Lube and the manager still refused to believe what he was seeing, but he replaced the oil with the correct weight. Forward to today three mos. later and I decided to change the oil myself. Bought oil and a filter and when I went to do the work, it was obvious the parts store had given me the wrong filter. back to the store to find out they had in fact given me the correct one and Jiffy Lube had installed the wrong filter when I was last there. This shop used a sense of fear and urgency to rush me into making a decision. When I stated I wanted to take the car to a different shop for a second opinion, they stated my car would likely not make it for a second opinion and I felt forced into using their service that I am still unsure was necessary. However, what angered me the most is that they damaged the lug nut on one of my tires while putting it back on. They tried to claim it wasn't their fault, handed me the lug nut that they could no longer get back on my tire and basically told me it was my problem now. I would have to take it to a tire shop to get it fixed. All, after I spend over $700 there. This place is backwards and corrupt. I can't believe they damaged my tire and told me it was my problem and did not do anything to make it right. read more

HORRIBLE, do not every go there!! Unprofessional employees and manager. I left after an oil change and my hood was not closed properly, I was told they had trouble closing it but no one every told me it was not closed. I went on the highway and my hood flew open, damaged my car and put me in danger. I had put a claim in through my insurance company, they contacted Jiffy Lube. Jiffy Lube apparently did their investigation saying I was at fault and was told by their employees not to drive. If I was instructed to not drive my car and it was unsafe I wouldn't have left. The worst!! They should be ashamed of themselves for how they treat customers. Whatever you do DO NOT go to this Jiffy Lube or any for that matter. read more

Went here for a simple oil change... As I'm standing at the counter giving the mechanic my info, he starts in on the sales pitch. I can SEE HIS COMPUTER SCREEN, not only prompting him for each sales pitch, but also showing him whether his location has the part (air filter, cabin filter, etc) is in stock... I kid you not, this guy tried to sell me two, TWO, different filters he didn't have in stock, not realizing I can see the giant "OUT OF STOCK" notice on his screen. Add to that, one mile up the road, and my tire pressure sensor lights up, maintenance req'd light pings on, and check engine light pings on... Lovely. Not only has this experience ensured I'll never return to this location, but also to ANY jiffy lube in the future. read more
