However I was told a few things about my…read morecar that made me lose trust in them such as them informing me my oil was dirty and my "vehicle inspection summary" showing my engine and cabin air filters were dirty. I do my own oil changes religiously every 5k miles and also recently changed both my air filters. To their credit, they did not pressure me to get these done which I appreciated. The biggest thing was that I was not told that the tire warranty was included and got charged the extra $100 when I didn't want it nor was I asked. Luckily, I had looked at the work order and saw the line item and had to ask for the refund since I did not care to have the warranty. When asking for the refund the gentleman inquired "are you sure?". Unfortunately, felt like him pressuring me and felt scummy trying to get me to pay for something I didn't need or want. However, after confirming, the amount was refunded without issue. Overall service was nice and the lady at the front was nice. Service took a bit longer than expected but not a big deal to me since I expected as much. At least the cost came out to what I expected and matched the quote from online (which also did not include the warranty by the way)

As a woman coming into an autobody shop alone, this is really Important. Ray and John are always SO nice and communicate incredibly well. Many if the men are also courteous and professional when bringing me into the shop to explain their reasoning behind any surprise repairs I may have to get. I expect my car to last a long time thanks to the guys at this Midas, and I'll never go anywhere else.

***HAMPTON XPRESS LUBE BEWARE!!***…read more I took my 2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee in for a routine, and what I thought at the time uneventful, oil change on 12/18/18 at the Hampton, NJ Xpress Lube. On 2/25/19 my Check Engine Light came on as I was pulling into my driveway. All pressures and temperatures appeared good, but I left it parked until I could get it into the dealership to investigate the morning of 2/27. Within a few minutes of pulling my Jeep into the garage, the service manager called me back and wanted to show me what had been found. Under the engine cover around the oil filter adapter cap was a mouse nest approximately 1 foot in diameter. Pinched under the adaptor cap was wedged a piece of the "mouse house" where oil had obviously been seeping out. When the oil filter was pulled out it was torqued in a corkshew pattern and within the oil filter cavity was yet more "mouse house". The pressure caused by this foreign matter was to blame for the disfigured filter. My oil dipstick was completely dry. It is a miracle my engine didn't seize and that none of the foreign matter made its way further into my engine causing irreparable damage. The final bill was over $370. I immediately called Xpress Lube to voice my displeasure and demand they pay the bill for the repair and stopped by to make the same demand after repairs were complete at the dealership. Dave, the manager, made copies of the dealership report, said they'd need a picture of the old filter and that he would discuss it with the owner, who was out of area, and took my contact information. Later that afternoon Dave called me and stated the owner had agree to make amends, but that to do so they'd need the actual filter, gasket and mouse material so they could file with the filter company. I contacted my dealership and had them collect all of the above, promptly collected it after I got off work and presented it to Dave that evening. He wanted to keep it, but I would not allow it and stated they could have it when I was repaid. He then told me the out of area owner would call me on Friday, the 1st. On Friday, Dave called me again stated his research had showed that the code Jeep put on the receipt was for an oil leak and referenced 3 Technical Bulletins insisting the leak was a fault of the Jeep. He suggested they were being scapegoated and the fault was the dealerships, who were trying to pin it on them. What code he expected for tech shoved a filter through a mouse nest I am uncertain of. He all but made it clear they would not make amends. I have never been spoken to or been called by the owner, although I have requested that contact on multiple occasions. This is an obvious case of an incompetent and/or indifferent technician doing the wrong thing and the local management not having the integrity to own it. I will be filing complaints with both corporate Xpress Lube and the BBB, if they are registered there. I strongly suggest you do not give them your business and that you share this with all your friends and family to protect them from a similar experience. Pictures of the warped filter, a chunk that was in the filter cavity, part of the pinched portion that came from under the adaptor cap and the dealership write up are below. I am not hard for cash, this is about principle.

After evaluating my Ford I was told that there was a Technical Bulletin that came out from Ford several years ago. I am impressed that they did the research to evaluate my car. They told me I did NOT NEED A TRANSMISSION. I only needed an update on the vehicle computer. Here's the numbers. Ford wanted $3500 for a rebuilt transmission. A new transmission was $6000. Final cost at Scotty's $150 to evaluate $250 to upload the new software Total $400.00 Can't say enough good things about this place. Talk about trusting a Mecanic!!! My mom, who's a senior, needed some work done on her vehicle, starting with fixing a slow leak in…read moreone of her tires. I live out of town, so, after a little online research, I reached out to Rockaway Service due to their 5-star reviews. When I inquired as to the cost of plugging a slow leak, I was told there was no charge as it was a service they perform for free. I was taken aback. No charge? Naturally, I had my mom drop the car off. Pat and Dan were very nice. A short time later Dan called me to discuss an issue with the sub-frame. My mom's vehicle is a Jeep Compass - subframe rotting out is a well-known and common issue. I was actually already aware of this on my mom's car and had been keeping an eye on it for the last year or so, knowing it would need to be replaced at some point. Dan texted me photos of the current condition with his recommendation that I not put it off any longer. The photos he took while the car was up on the lift showed the rotting had progressed much further than I could see from my vantage point with the vehicle on the ground. I grew up working on cars my entire life: My father was a huge do-it-yourselfer, so I know my way around an automobile. I know if I'm being spoken to honestly or not. I was trying to hold off because it could be a pricey repair, but Dan was correct - I could not put it off any longer. We made arrangements to bring the car back in a week. My mom dropped off her car to get the repair done and they actually drove her to work - unfortunately, the repair took a little longer than expected (as these things sometimes tend to do - it happens) so they picked her up at the end of the day and drove her home! Knowing my mom needed the car (she a senior widow, living alone), Dan stayed late the next night, finishing the repairs and then he personally delivered the car to my mom at her house! Who does that? Both Dan, Pat and even Denise (the woman that answered the phone) were all pleasant and professional. They went above and beyond what I would consider to be "normal" service. My mom is ecstatic about how much better the car drives and I'm very happy with the pricing. I think everyone can agree that it's very difficult to find a mechanic you can trust, and cold-calling one like I did here was a gamble. But it was a gamble that I'm glad to say paid off. I can't say enough good things about the way they treated both my mom and me. I know I tend to be overly wordy sometimes... but this time it's warranted. I just wish I lived closer to them, as, based on this experience, and the way they treated us as a first-time customer, would be very confident having them service my entire families' vehicles.
