But I'm a long time loner and I put maybe too much stock in decent treatment by people I give money to. From doctors to dry cleaners to service departments of dealerships. And the few employees I observed, dealt with or overheard treated us Honda modestly living sorts decently. I won't name the prior dealership who for most of those 15 years did miracles and were beyond decent. But staff changed and so did attitudes. What am I chasing in this world? Isn't it just an oil change. No. It isn't.

I brought my civic in because my car jerks when I accelerate every time... they tell me it's "the…read morewrong floor mat so it's jamming under the pedal and that's the reason the car is jumping". It's been doing this since before I put the mat in, so that's not the cause. I try explaining this to the advisor and she argues with me that the tech is certain it's from the floor mat. Now this being about the 15th problem I've had between both of my vehicles purchased at this location, with majority of the issues not being fixed and having to go to another dealer, I started to get pissed. I know the floor mat is NOT the cause, and at this point the service manager is involved. I ask if they even drove my car or just assuming it's the mat and he tells me his head mechanic is fantastic and wouldn't just assume. Says he drove the car around the lot and it's fine... some more arguing and the manager finally says okay to have his mechanic take the car on the road for a test drive. I see them pull out, and once they come back they bring the car right back into the shop. Come to find out, as I already knew, it's NOT THE FLOOR MAT. It's the air hose which is cracked so it's pulling in more air than it should. They give me a quote for almost $195, although it's only a $20 part at advanced. I get home, show my friend the part that's cracked and as we're looking under the hood we come to notice they took the plug off one of the reservoirs and never put it back letting debris get in. It isn't the first time they didn't put something back on either, as they forgot to attach the plastic cover to my engine in the past and it fell UNDER the engine, that when I found the piece it was burnt to hell. My other car they had to replace a part for the air conditioner and they forgot to attach the defroster back in so I had no defrost over the winter. Seems like this place has no care for safety, they will tell you whatever they please and not fully assess your vehicle unless you push it. I highly suggest do NOT use this dealer for service, only reason I do still is because my cars under warranty through them, so I'm kinda stuck. Thoroughly check that your car is repaired if you do use them! I don't trust them at all.

You drive your car to the back of the shop where there are 2 lanes. A mechanic will tell you which lane to go to and will ask you a series of questions. There is a car scent (choose a scent from lemon, vanilla, clean car, or baby powder), vacuum, windshield wash, and 14-point check included for no extra charge! I sat in the waiting room for maybe 10 minutes before my name was called saying they were done! Very impressed with how quickly they were able to complete everything and my car feels and smells good as new! The staff were extremely professional and did not recommend unnecessary extras. Will definitely be back!

An hour after I picked up the truck I called him back to say that it was vibrating and shaking worse than ever and that something was seriously wrong! He got completely belligerent with me, telling me it was nothing he did, and not to bring my truck back to him? He supposedly rebuilt my 3rd & 4th gear and whatever else goes into overhauling a transmission. I hadn't yet paid him for the job, he told me not to bother paying him, which immediately raised a red flag! I had the truck towed to another mechanic who after examining it said, not only is my 9 month old transfer case completely shot, because whoever just worked on it didn't bother tightening any of the bolts, which cause the seal & yoke to blow out and all the fluid, essentially grinding it to shreds....Hence the violent shaking and grinding I told him about the day before. Oh yeah, and did I mention that he insisted that it was my exhaust that was causing the violent shaking of the truck! Not only that but my mechanic and a transmission guy swear that the transmission was never taken out of my truck, only the transfer case, which has now caused the extension housing to crack as well as the transfer case to Completely fail!...Long story short, do yourself a favor and stay away!!

I left feeling a little better I had checked on my car for the safety of my family but still felt the grinding when breaking. 1 week later and I looked closely at my front rotor and see it's shredded. I'm so disgusted that these men would let me leave with an unsafe car and basically diminished my concerns. I will never return.

The first time they did a safety inspection on my wife's Jeep a few years ago, they missed a huge…read morecrack in the front suspension , which caused a wheel to break straight off as we pulled out of a parking space. I gave them the benefit of the doubt because other mechanics told me it wouldn't be unusual to miss that on an inspection. They also agreed to fix it pretty quickly, after we had it towed there. Fast forward to last week, this time my 2013 Rav4 with 130k miles that's been pretty well maintained was overdue for a tire rotation. They performed it at no charge. Immediately, a loud noise is audible at lower speeds and coming to a stop. Not a seized caliper, and too coincidental with timing of rotation. I assumed it could be a balancing issue. I also made sure it wasn't anything silly like lugs not being tightened all the way. Decided to call them and ask if they could take a look, since it's reasonably possible they caused the issue. I told them I'd pay a diagnostic fee even if I thought they may have done something. We are a one vehicle family and I've been racking up miles since I started a second job delivering food. I got a callback where the woman at the front desk told me "we don't diagnose things here", added that the shop was closing for a week for a family vacation, and then tried to steer me to another garage. What kind of licensed PA inspection station doesn't diagnose mechanical problems? Especially if they may be responsible? You're telling me if I am going to fail inspection they wouldn't try to find out why? Or know how to check their own work? Before this tire rotation, I had my annual inspection done there and requested regular interval maintenance, which would be lube, oil, filter change and a tire rotation. When I picked the car up, I was shocked at their price increases. I paid basically the same amount I would have at the Toyota dealership, and they tell me they didn't even rotate the tires! I'm no mechanic but I know tires should be rotated with each interval service. If you're just going to only accept cake (brake jobs and oil changes) don't bother keeping your inspection license. Nobody should trust these people, no matter how friendly they might be. There's a reason they have competitors right across the street who have been doing it much longer and never had to sweat Bangor Tire and Auto coming into town. I used to take my car to the dealership, even for regular maintenance. They are expensive. I heard people talk about how affordable this place is, and how nice they are as people. Unfortunately,that's not enough to run a good shop. They're also no more affordable than any other independent shop in the area, any more.
