I don't recommend this Jiffy Lube especially if you need to work with the mechanic Sam. My daughter took her car in on Wednesday after work. A couple lights were on the dashboard indicating problems but told the mechanic Sam would need to deal with it. She was told to return the next day after 1:00. I brought her car back on Thursday as suggested. Sam said he was too busy. He suggested "tomorrow " Friday at 9:00 am. I returned with the car at 9:09 on Friday. Sam was not there. I was told to leave the car and he would call me when he got in. At 11:30 I called but Sam was still not in yet. I called again around 1:30.I told one of the Assistant managers that I need the car by 3:30 and it had been there since 9:00. I was told I'd have to speak with Sam cause he was working on another car. I returned to the JL. Sam proceeded to tell me he did not say to return at 9:00 "tomorrow " but on Saturday. That was not true! He argued with me; said he recommended a dealer look at it. Never admitted he told me to return Friday at 9:00 . Sam also said I was lucky he wasn't going to charge me for the diagnostic which there was no proof he did because he had no idea what it needed. Poor communication, lying to me the customer and never apologized for the 3 days wasted of my daughter's and my time. Never suggested the dealership until the third day of making excuses and lying about the communication. Never again will I return to that Jiffy Lube! read more

A very simple job. Change the oil and air filter. My truck starts running rough. I was about to take to the mechanic but held off to fix myself if possible. Hmmmm, what did those jackasses work on? Air filter? They didnt tighten one of the screws and I had a vacuum leak! So I tighten and the idle went back to normal but the truck has ran rough ever since. I cleaned the mass air sensor and helped, but still not normal. The fuel injector probably sucked some dirt while the air box was open? If you get your oil changed , check the drain plug is tight? I called the manager and he was sorry, and said he may send me a discount coupon? May? Unbelieveble. This is not over if my truck doesnt run better. By reading all these reviews, this place is a joke. read more

One of the worst Jiffy Lubes I've ever been too. I always put in Synthetic Motor Oil into my car and I thought that since I had my last oil change at the Los Alamitos Jiffy Lube that pretty much all Jiffy Lubes would charge the same amount for the oil change and that all of the Jiffy Lubes would have the same type of service. Well, anyhow, I drive up to this Jiffy Lube and request the normal synthetic oil change with no extra frills (i.e. air filter swap, cabin filter swap, or coolant swap) that Jiffy Lubes typically try to upsell. I go inside and wait for my vehicle to be serviced. After waiting about 5 minutes (not bad), the guy comes in with an estimate to service my car.... the quote for service? a whopping $118.99!!! I was so shocked that I almost fell off my chair! I asked the guy what the deal was.... he told me synthetic. And before he explained any further, he ran out the door and told the other service employees to stop what they were doing immediately. While, we sat there debating why it costs almost $120 to do an oil change on a later model BMW... I brought up the point that for the past almost 5 years of doing oil changes on my car (at different Jiffy Lubes) they had always charged me only $80-$85 for the full service synthetic (and that was including how many extra quarts of oil my vehicle needed). After I explained this fact, the guy then told me that each Jiffy Lube is franchised with different owners. At that point, I knew the guy wouldn't budge with the price and car had already been at oil change station spot for about 7 minutes. Debating whether to save about $40 and possibly get my vehicle vandalized (by one of the mechanics working underneath the vehicle); I reluctantly decided to go ahead with the service. About 3 minutes later, the car was done. How those guys did my oil change that fast, I have no idea. So, I got a little suspicious and asked for them to produce my old oil filter and the old drain plug washer.... which they did end up presenting within a couple of minutes. Needless to say, I was relieved that they did at least that. I checked my oil level and also saw that they did at least change the oil to the correct level also. However, despite the regular job... I was still dismayed by the $40+ in labor charges that it costed to just change out my oil. The guy said it cost that much just for the synthetic oil. Granted they ripped me off on that too! $10+ per quart! It usually only goes for $7-$8 at the auto-parts store. So, anyways... here's the bottom line... If you want to get ripped off by almost $40-$50 the conventional cost of getting your oil changed, get it here... if not; go somewhere else where the management has a higher level of integrity. Btw, if I could rate a 0 star, I would do it... but the scale doesn't let me go that low! read more

Okay, I get it. Blonde coming. Lets see if we can make her pay a ridiculous price for an oil change. Caught me on a bad day during another day of my divorce procedures. Had to get my oil changed. They said I needed this and that, and transmission fluid. The guy showed me everything on the computer outside - with no pricing beside the items. I realize, I should have asked, but I was in a hurry. So approx. 10 minutes later (I mean, that was fast!), my bill came to over 300.00. That's right. I was flabbergasted, but paid anyway. Needed to get out of there. Then started to think, is there anything you can do in 10 minutes that costs 300.00? Even the best prostitutes charge less for that amount of time. I felt duped. I know, buyer beware, and I should have asked for the prices, but then again, it would have been nice for them to say, "This costs this much, and this costs this much." I had a completely opposite experience at J.L. than Kayla. Almost doesn't seem like I was at the same place! My husband and I both brought our cars in and everyone was extremely helpful and friendly. I also left feeling like for the first time I wasn't asked to buy more than I wanted. PLUS I brought in my own new air filter and they installed it for me free of charge. We had coupons too. One of the staff was filling the coffee pot at the water fountain and she noticed I wanted to get some water and she quickly moved over and so "Oh! You first!!" This is the absolute worst place I have ever taken my car. Aside from the more than displeasing location, pull in/out situation, and appearance - they uphold the negative stereotype of "dishonest mechanics" quite well. (If you can even call them that). When I arrived they told me my coolant was about half full, and asked if I needed replacing - I said no it was fine. They also told me I had a license plate light out & asked if I needed a replacement, so I said sure ($10 for a light I could have changed myself, but whatever.) Long story short, at the end of my visit they called me out to say I had ZERO coolant in my car! Really? Then where did the half full tank go in these past 30 minutes? My car drove fine when I went in & began to overheat & smell once I had left. Sketchy. And as for the cherry on top, when I asked to see the license plate bulbs to make sure they fixed it correctly, one was still burnt out. Seems they accidentally changed the GOOD bulb I had and left the bad one. Real nice, folks. Do yourself a favor & stay away. read more

I am going to keep this measured in an attempt to keep my review from feeling clouded with the distress and disappointment caused by this location. I went into Jiffy Lube for an oil change on my vehicle. After about 10 minutes in the waiting room, I am called out to see my vehicle. Which now has a flat tire. Shocking because I had just had new tires installed less than a week ago, (at Americas Tire in Huntington Beach, five star service ! Check them out!) One of the Employees was standing there with the Valve from my tire sensor, broken in half in his hand. He proceeded to tell me that it was first the fault of America's Tire, and then blamed it on the factory TPMS from Toyota. The issue is, I have already checked the air myself plenty of times before, and also within the time of getting my new set of tires, and have never had this issue. I also spoke to other 3rd party companies such as Pep Boys and Big O Tires, and both of their teams, as an unbiased 3rd party, pinned the issue completely on Jiffy Lube, saying that there was no way Toyota or America's Tire could have any thing to do with the damage. The establishment refused to take personal blame, but at least said they would compensate financially for damages. My issue is, I run a company that requires the use of my vehicle. I had to cancel my days worth of appointments, missing a days worth of pay in order to get this issue fixed. I went to get my sensor replaced and my wheel put back on at a Toyota Service center, and the total came out to just shy of $350. I then took the invoice to Jiffy Lube, in order to receive my damages payment. One of the employees from the previous incident was there, and took my paperwork. After about 10 Minutes I am asked to come back another time when the have the money, but I already took the day off of my appointments, and can't inconvenience my customers by taking another day off, or myself by losing another day of pay. When I told him I needed my compensation today, due to what I just stated, he then within a few minutes he went back on what he had said and somehow now had the money, without leaving the shop or even the front desk. I was being lied to, as I'm sure it would inconvenience them, but this stemmed from an inconvenience they caused me. I do not recommend going to this Jiffy Lube, as my vehicle was damaged on a routine procedure, those responsible refuse to take accountability, and the experience was finished with lying about the ability to produce the compensation for my damages. read more

My car broke down at the veterans hospital across the street from Jiffy Lube. I decided to walk to the shop because I thought the problem with my car is the battery. One of the guys walked back with me with a battery reader. He then tested the battery of my car and told me the battery is actually still really good, and it most likely might be the alternator. I just wanted to say thank you for taking a look at it first and thank you for trying to help. Though you guys can't change the alternator, I will be back to get my oil change there if ever we are around the area again! read more

Not only did they perform the service I came for, they went above and beyond with washing my windows, vacuuming my car, filling the tires....and the list goes on. They were all extremely friendly and happy to help. It didn't take that long either (usually I have to leave my car with the mechanic for a few hours to get the oil changed). Going through the reviews, it seems like this place is a hit or miss! In terms of my experience: I have stopped by this location at least 3 times now! All of the technicians here have suggested many things that I should consider getting serviced. Some I have them do and others I decline because I know I can go take it to my mechanic for a much cheaper price. I haven't had a single hassle for declining a service! employees gave me attitude the moment I pulled in. any Jiffy Lube I've been to you pull your own car in, talk the tech about what you want. and they do it. this one they didn't want me driving my own car - explained it'd be a 20-25 min wait. all good. but then proceeded to ignore me even after last customer was "checked in" at the desk. I was then told it'd be anywhere from 45 mins to an hour. I asked if I could do it another time and they were even more attitude driven. For the first time in many years I needed to PAY someone to change my oil..(darn being between boyfriends!). So I drove into Jiffy Lube and waited for the sales schpel to start... luckily the pricing was posted and jived with what the outdoor fellow first stated. As I was in the waiting room, I kept hearing the prices for other MEN waiting (come on dudes) and wow those prices were CRAZY HIGH!! So I was already prepared for the bait and switch..I checked into yelp and there was a $10 off I believe it was. So the original regular old oil change would've been something like $40 bucks? I don't recall. Anyhow, I was called out to my car for pricing and now he's trying to sell me some $79 synthetic oil change... Negative sucka. I know my ex previously put in synthetic and if I could do it myself I would probably put it in also, but not at $79 bucks plus whatever you want to tack on. He showed me the filter and suggested I change that too for an additional $40, not happening. THAT I can change myself. Hello YOUTUBE! Do you sense my defensiveness? Well after I did a blend upgrade and with my yelp discount it came out to a reasonable price. Plus when they took me out to my car (nice service) I see it was all vacuumed!! That alone won me over! That poor car hasn't been vacuumed in FOREVER! I absolutely despise getting my oil changed. Not because it costs money, takes a little time, or is "car stuff" -- but because how I ALWAYS get treated at oil change spots. I visited this location just before 9am today and the staff was awesome! I was in and out in a "jiffy" and was given all the necessary updates about my car and the type of services that will be due soon. Joanna was at the desk with a new trainee and Tin, & Micheal worked on my oil change. The staff was smiling and Joanna even put my favorite morning station on the tv in the waiting lounge. I appreciated Joanna's sensitivity and kindness in the lounge when a man came in for the free coffee and she gently explained that the lounge is for the customers and she got him a cup of coffee and he was on his way. This is my 5th or 6th time at this location and I'm always pleased, hence the 5 star review. Thank you Joanna, Tin & Micheal and the trainee for starting my morning off right with car service and smiles. I'll be back for my next oil change thanks to the nifty sticker on my windshield. WARNING: LIARS AND CROOKS TL;DR: Jiffy Lube told me my brake light was out and needed to be replaced for $99. Checked my brake lights and they were just fine. They flat out lied to me so I would spend another 100 dollars. OK I've been here a few times before, so at this point I was used to the up-sell offers, insistent filter changes, hidden costs tacked on and what not. But its a great place when you need an oil change fast if you don't mind spending at least $80 more than you initially thought you would....or so I thought. I went in to get an oil change and requested the signature service, turning down offers for more expensive oils and transmission fluids. They did ask if I wanted my air and cabin filters changed, and I agreed, because I knew it had been a while since I've had them replaced. While I sat in the waiting area, I laughed to myself as elderly patrons complained about the amount they had to pay being much higher than what was advertised. One woman said she would never come there again, and a man took his keys back, getting in his car while it was in the garage with the hood up, and drove away before services could be performed. I thought to myself, "Yup, that's how it works at the ol' J-Lube." The girl behind the counter (bless her heart) simply laughed off their complaints as if she were trying to ease the tension, which ironically increased the tension and made it more awkward to witness. But also hilarious. The mechanic came into the waiting area and informed me that one of my brake lights was out, and asked if I would like them to replace it for $99. I declined the offer because I wasn't anticipating that cost at the time, and wanted to do a bit of research on that sort of repair before I made any hundred dollar decisions. (the woman sitting next to me joked about a ticket from highway patrol being more expensive, moments before discovering the actual cost of her services and proclaiming, "That's the last time I'll be coming here."(And if you are wondering if the girl behind the counter laughed it off like it 'aint no thang'....she did.)) After all was said and done, I paid the $108 for my advertised "$27.99 signature Jiffy Lube oil change" and two filters, grabbed my keys, and was on my way. And just for the record...I paid $108 for a $28 oil change, $20 filter, and a $50 filter...so only $10 in hidden fees(if you don't take into account that the filters would only cost about $15 each at an automotive parts store.) . . . HERE'S WHERE THINGS WENT FROM "Oh, I expected it to be like this" TO "Wow... you're even worse than I thought you were, J-Lube" . . . So like any 26 year old who doesn't know enough about cars to do an oil change at home, I told my Dad about my experience, and he told me he would show me how easy and cheap it would be to replace a brake light on your own at home. Dads are awesome! I turned on my car, and we tested the brake lights up, down, and sideways, and by the beard of Zeus, guess what? All them lights worked just fine just the way they were supposed to. In fact, every light on the front and back of my car worked just how it was supposed to. At first I was relieved(knowing that my car was working fine). And then angry(realizing that those guys tried to rip me off). And then relieved again(knowing that they didn't succeed in ripping me off). And then ANGRY(Seriously, how is that even legal??). Here's the thing....Jiffy Lube has a notorious reputation for these kinds of things, where you go in hoping to get the great deal that they advertised and leaving with much more money missing from your wallet than you were expecting, because of the hidden fees, add-ons, and upgrades that they try to push on people with limited automobile knowledge (most of us). I get that. I knew that going in. And I was willing to accept paying that much for everything when I went in. The part that really "gets my goat" is that they straight up LIED. LIED. LIED. TO MY FACE. They lied about my brake light being out with the hopes of me wanting them to replace it so they could make another $100 on top of what I was already paying. I understand that some of the techniques that Jiffy Lube uses in order to get you to spend more money are arguably shady, misleading, and exploitative. And that's why people have to be on their toes when they are dealing with companies like this who prey on the vulnerable. But to flat out LIE to a customer's face really crosses the line for me. The bottom line is that these people are LIARS AND CROOKS. THEY ARE THIEVES THAT WILL LIE TO YOUR FACE TO STEAL YOUR MONEY. I would have gone back to Jiffy Lube in the future despite the shady service and questionable selling techniques that I have come to expect. AMENDING THE ORIGINAL REVIEW: The Good: Very polite attendants. Quick service. In and out within 10 minutes. No pushy upselling. The Bad: When I left, I noticed that the next service sticker reflected the next oil change needed in 2,500 miles, which I compared to the odometer....seemed kind of odd that it wasn't even 3,000 miles.... figured it was a typo from how my mileage was recorded. The HUH???: 3 months 2 weeks & 3,400 miles after my oil change my oil light came on for the first time ever, indicating low oil pressure. I added two quarts of oil and took it to another shop, where I discovered the drain plug had been stripped during my last change, causing a slow leak. The Resolution: The management left the below response, and upon my responding, they apologized for the issue, refunded my last oil change, and provided a certificate for my next service. All that to say, it doesn't change the fact that the issue happened, but as with anything in life, problems will arise. It's how a company deals with shortcomings that really makes a difference, and they did an EXCELLENT job. read more

I went to this location today to have my car checked as multiple maintenance notifications were displayed on my dash. I was too early for the regularly scheduled full service and explained the situation to the attendant, Joanne I believe. She said they would check my car in ten minutes and to have a seat in the lobby to enjoy some coffee or water. In about ten minutes she said they checked my car and all it needed was a top off fluids and a little oil. They reset my maintenance notifications and did not charge me. This is a great service station with professional and kind staff. I will continue to cone here for my service needs. read more

Hmmmm. I am thinking someone read their Yelp reviews cause we had excellent, quick service here the other day. Hubby and I took both cars in for a lube job. I know my car was on its way to bone dryon fluids because it sounded like the tinman every time a turned a corner. Plus, that nasty old red oil light came on for a split second recently. Anyway, we also had a coupon, so it was pretty inexpensive. We were out of there in about 10 minutes and my car seemed to be happy and no longer squeaking. It was a nice touch that one of the employees opened my car door like a valet when I was ready to go. I say give 'em a chance. read more

After waiting 30 minuets for a service tec to see me I was told it would be another 45 minuets before I could get a basic oil change. I had waited too long to be told I needed to wait even longer. I declined there service and was giving only a bad attitude. I discover the front hood hadn't been latched properly while driving down the freeway. That could have been a tragedy. My advice to all who read this, beware of the bad service and incompetence that permeates this Jiffy Jube. It's too bad YELP doesn't have a ZERO rating!!! read more

I come here with a fleet account which is good because they do charge a lot for a oil change and new windshield wipers. It came out to be about $100 I believe. If I had to pay for it, I would probably give this place 3 stars for the steep prices. However, they vacuumed the car, inflated the tires and checked the air filter and fluids. I give it 5 stars because everytime I come in, I'm in and out in 10 minutes. For a while I had to go to Good Year or Pep Boys for an oil change and you'd be lucky be out within an hour at one of those places. read more

But when I got there the guy told me they don't provide that service. This Jiffy Lube is the best. The employees are very friendly, accommodating, and answer all questions with a smile. They are thorough with their explanations when recommending a service and go above and beyond for the customer. Nearly every time that I've gone, they've been able to get started on my services right away. On the rare occasion where there is a wait, it is never very long. The lobby is comfortably set up with chairs (six feet apart), a water cooler and a TV. They even put a red carpet for you to walk on as you head back to your car. The pros are that the service for an oil change was pretty quick overall, I may have waited 20 minutes . People were nice and they had plenty of current magazines and free coffee which looked ok but at least they offer it up. The cons, the cost. Yikes I wasn't prepared to pay that much for an oil change. They advertise $29 for an oil change, but apparently since my car uses synthetic oil then it spikes to $89.....so false marketing to some degree. I doubt I'll go back due to the cost, plus I would have gotten a tire rotation with my oil change had I gone to my dealership instead..grr. Lessons learned. read more

I was a bit unsure of whether or not I should go here because the reviews weren't great, but I was in desperate need for an oil change quick. With a M-F job, it's tough to get these things done because places are either closed or super busy on the weekend. I left the auto center at Walmart after being told it would be a 3 hour wait for a basic oil change. I'm happy to say that despite reviews, I had a great experience here. I was greeted by someone the moment I parked. I sat down for maybe three minutes before I was called outside for services. They didn't press up-charges as bad as I thought they would. It was the quickest oil change I had ever received. After discussing services I sat down for maybe 5 minutes before my car was ready to go. Amazing. ON A SUNDAY AFTERNOON! The cashier (I wish I had her name, but if management sees this review, she was working the counter on 4.19 at 3pm) was wonderful and the guys working all said goodbye as I left. Went for oil change and tire rotation yesterday afternoon about 1:00p. A few cars in front of me took about 20 min. to get serviced. Everyone was very friendly and helpful, checked in with Yelp and they had a link to Jiffy Lube site for $15.00 off coupon. Cabin filter was a bit pricy, $49.00 and the synthetic oil & oil filter was only slightly less. Next time I'll just have to remember to buy the filters at Walmart first save a few bucks.
