I can't believe it's been almost seven years since my last review here! I've been coming to this location since 2018--back when I had a Chevy Camaro. Now I drive an Audi A4, and the service has stayed consistently great. They're always quick, reliable, and honest, and I've never had any issues. I especially like that this location accepts the $20 off coupon you can grab online--most other locations only offer $15 off, so that's a nice perk. Plus, they even remind you to use the coupon! Today I came in for a full synthetic oil change and finally did a tire rotation (which I'd been putting off). I'm so glad I did, because two of my tires had popped nails--they actually brought the tires out to show me and pointed out exactly which sides they came from. That kind of transparency and care for safety is rare and really appreciated. They also had a special deal: tire rotation and engine cleaning for just $35, which was a great surprise--I thought I'd be paying $50 just for the rotation alone. My total, including full synthetic oil, engine cleaning, and tire rotation, came out to $165, which felt super reasonable. Another big plus: they let me know my dashboard light for coolant was going off not because it was low, but because it was actually overfilled. They were able to drain the excess coolant, and I didn't have to pay anything extra to "replace" it. Wow! That kind of honesty is why I keep coming back. I left a negative review over ten days ago after a bad experience at this Jiffy Lube. They responded almost immediately, creating the impression that they care about the problems I mentioned. I emailed them--twice--just like they asked, and left my contact info. After a week and a half, they still have yet to contact me. I see many of Jiffy Lube's similar responses to other negative reviews, and now I'm questioning whether they actually follow-up with anyone or if they just want to give a public impression that they care about owning up to their mistakes and amending problems. I'm even more disappointed with Jiffy Lube after this interaction than I was when I had my initial negative experience. My daughter came for oil change 3 days ago. They sold her a tire rotation that was not needed. They broke off a lug nut that the tech stated they accidentally broke. Not because of the lug nut having been installed wrong. They charged her $21 to put new lug nut on. As she drove off there was loud metal scraping sound coming from rear drive side wheel that did not exist before. I go back to shop with my daughter & the manager made up story, lied to me that the part was damaged. I called him out of that. He doubled down. Either the tech they talked to my daughter when they broker the lug nut was lying then when he stated they broker it because the it was too hot, not do to any broker part or misfit before hand or the manager is lying to me today'. Either way. They are lying & not standing behind their work. We will see what they tell us about the metal grading scraping sound. read more

I went in for emergency maintenance to this location, because it's the repair shop I've been using for the past few years. I'm a loyal customer. Never again. First of all, David A. first told me there was an issue with my brakes. I was skeptical, because just a month prior a different shop had told me my brakes were fine. When I said this, David switched to telling me my suspension snapped and was leaking oil. Again, I was suspicious because I haven't noticed any oil leakage from my car, but in the end I'm not really familiar with technical car services. They quoted me $1,100 for just the suspension service, in addition to an alignment. David was blase, and unconcerned about my concerns. I then went in to talk about it more, and he changed to describing an issue with my control arms. I accepted to the service, because it seemed like a serious issue. They completely took advantage of me here. I had to leave my car overnight because I came in close to closing hours, which was fine for me. However when I came in the next day I was suprised to see my final total was instead 1,400. I was not notified of the change in price, and David told me it was because the original quote did not include the actual parts needed for my service, which was actually my control arms. He didn't seem to care at all that my price had jumped $300, and said it was just "a small mistake." Again, they did not call me before or after the service to let me know about this change, they waited for me to come in after being notified the service was done. Israel R. and David A. worked on all aspects of my car, and here's the kicker. Once I drove off, I began hearing this terrible screeching sound, like my brakes had completely gone. I had a trusted mechanic take a look, and the metal wear indicator had been bent FORWARD to touch the brake rotor, and cause the noise to imply they needed service asap. This noise started immediately after I left my car overnight, and has since been totally fixed, since the indicator was corrected and my brakes, yep, still have 10,000 miles on them. A total scam on their part, likely to get me to come in again. I'm genuinely disgusted with the service here, and beyond mad. I wouldn't reccommend anyone to come here, and if you're less familiar with the inner workins of a car definitely steer away. They will take advantage. read more

Well, I can't speak as to their service for oil changes and such but I did have a pleasant experience with Antoine (sp). I had been cleaning out my dad's garage and had some old bottles of oil, brake fluid & antifreeze and wanted to dispose of them in the correct way. Antoine was very polite and friendly in accommodating me helping to dispose of these in an eco-friendly way. He even took some empty oil bottles I had disposed of at the Auto Zone around the corner. I would rather mop the pacific ocean than deal with any car maintenance but unfortunately I have to deal with it every once in a while. I took the day off to run some errands and get my oil changed at this particular Jiffy Lube since I had a great experience previously. I drove my little mini cooper down to Los Alamitos enjoying the views and my freedom from a middle school classroom. The location had a few cars already in the garage so I went ahead and parked. I walked into the waiting room where the cash register is and a few mechanics noticed me standing there but ignored my presence. I was okay with it seeing as I am used to this type of behavior from the many teenagers I work with on the daily however after standing there for five minutes I decided that my time was valuable and would much rather enjoy my day off. I know I wasn't dressed in my most alluring hetero feminine attire and looked like a grizzly cub but I expected atleast a nod. I won't come back but wish this business the best. read more

The employee that helped me was very nice and went out of his way to have me pull my car in to the garage first since I was waiting longer than anyone else. I didn't know I was supposed to pull my car up to the garage doors to wait so another guy had pulled in front of me. I thought this way really kind and I appreciated it. I had a Groupon for my oil change, paid for a tire rotation and a new air filter and cabin filter. Unfortunately, none of the work that comes with a Jiffy Lube oil change was done. My tire pressure wasn't checked (see photo, this is 3 days later), my windows were still dirty, I wasn't shown the clean oil placed in the car and, honestly, I have no idea if they even rotated the tires. Absolutely the best experience I've ever had getting my oil changed. Mario is a super hero and I will forever appreciate his patience, great attitude and thoughtfulness. I arrived 15 min before closing, I thought they were open later but I was mistaken. There were 2 cars up and Mario literally talked me into staying to have my car checked out. I felt bad, knowing they were so close to clocking out. I had a Groupon deal for an oil change at participating locations only. This became a nightmare. After driving to the Hawthorne location twice we were told that they couldn't change my oil due to an issue with my bolts and recommended to go to the last place that did my oil change. Should've stuck with Valvoline. Stopped by because it was close to the hospital. Just came for an oil change and tacked on a tire rotation because it was an extra $20. Right before they're done guy comes up and says the brake fluid has a lot of moisture and they can replace for around 40 (39.99). I say sure. I've gotten it for 70 at my local guy so I think it's a deal. Go to pay and its brake fluid is 100 extra. I tell them it's an issue and person at the desk says maybe I misheard or his guy didn't speak loud enough. 100 is a hell of a lot for someone speaking too quietly. I heard the price crystal clear, and if he meant something else or speaks his initial syllables quiet, I still paid the price for it. When I lived near a Valvoline they always confirmed the price with me twice and always confirmed the full payment before they started any work. Honestly I feel conned for a quota. Never going here again and I suggest anyone else who likes a fair shake do the same. Going back to speak with the manager tomorrow to see is this fuck up can have a better ending. I had my Honda Passport serviced at this location. Staff seemed friendly enough. They Changed out my engine oil, differential fluid, and transmission fluid. I noticed right away that I had long shifts, delayed shifts, and rough shifts including staying in one gear too long. I went to Honda for a recall and had my transmission serviced. The first thing the service department said was, you know that your transmission fluid is supposed to be green right? You are only supposed have ATF 3.1 only. I said that I had serviced the transmission at Jiffy Lube. Honda said they did the best to try and get most of the old fluid out, but there was still some left inside that they could not get to. Now my new transmission service from Honda is contaminated with the wrong fluid. I am deeply concerned since my transmission is a sealed unit. This unit is not easily flushed and not recommended by Honda. I cannot detail my frustration. This vehicle only has 58k miles on it. I have had it for 5 years now and I am looking at at $7,500 replacement to fix this. Let's see what the store manager is going to do regarding this damage. Waiting on response. read more

STAY AWAY!! I went to this Jiffy Lube location this morning (2nd time here) and one of the technicians (Lino Lopez or Ruben?) told me that my front brakes were metal to metal. He even went so far as to say, "You need to get your brakes replaced ASAP. It just takes one person pulling in front of you and you pressing on the brakes hard...it may not stop." I told him, "Okay...I'll have my brother check it out, since he owns a shop." I bring my car to my brother's shop immediately after the oil change (I don't go to his shop for oil changes, since it's in the South Bay) and lo and behold....front brakes are FINE!!!!!!!! Because I'm a woman he thought he could pull a fast one while using scare tactics! HORRIBLE! Beware of the Los Alamitos Jiffy Lube. Went here for an oil change in the morning hoping to beat the rush. Turns out everyone else had the same idea which is no fault of this establishment. Pulled up and the guy working told me I was waiting behind one car that was just getting a coolant top off. That took 15 mins, then I pulled up behind a car receiving some kind of maintenance. I was told it would be another 10-15 mins which was fine, it made sense. I proceeded to wait another 45 mins which isn't the worst or the end of the world. However I would have preferred being told a more accurate/honest wait time I can see how you have to estimate but 10-15 is a long way off from 45 minutes. Next the work force here is a bunch of younger gentleman, who seemed to laugh and make jokes while roaming back and forth around the cars seemingly not completing any maintenance tasks. I finally was checked in and sat in the lobby, considering they were busy with one car (a mini cooper) that had been there since I arrived I sat and waited for someone to talk with me about what I wanted done when they had a chance. The mini copper owner finally got someone's attention and said she was leaving, she had been there more than 2 hours waiting for a part and hadn't been given updates. Funny enough while I was waiting before being checked in, I inquired what the holdup was with the mini cooper and was told someone has ordered the part and had it delivered and it was the wrong part but they never relayed that to the mini cooper owner. 30 mins later I got the attention of the guy who checked me in and asked about my vehicle , he said they were finishing up. They never asked what oil I wanted or if I needed any other services, I said I wanted high mileage and he said he could drain in and refill it, I didn't want to wait so said no. Figured it was your job to ask about service before providing it. He gave me a discount which was nice but still seems like yet another business where lackadaisical customer service is the norm it's unfortunate but something we consumers are slowly getting more accustomed to. They didn't replace the sticker for next service , they didn't mention my air filter needed replacement or coolant level, my wipers were brand new (purchased the day before) receipt says may require attention . My gf had gone to this same location a week prior and her inspection sheet/receipt was much more thorough than mine and they discussed everything in detail. Ridiculous. Please keep in mind that I have a regular stock 2016 tacoma(considered a small truck). I was taken back because most places charge me 25. I asked the manager how my small truck could be considered a full-size truck when the two vans next to my truck were bigger, and they charged them 35. I said, "Can you do 35 and he said no. All bays are full, but no other cars waiting. I park behind one of the bays waiting for someone to come out. But no, eye contact yes, but am ignored right away. I decide to go in, thinking maybe the supervisor is inside checking someone in or out, but at the register there is no one. I wait, again employees see me, but do nothing about it. So I go back to my car, and while I went in someone else showed up and are being helped by the same person that saw me pull up behind a bay when it was just me. Absolutely worse! I went and got an oil change and new air filters for my car on 19SEP22 and then on the 21SEP22 I noticed that there was oil on the floor in my parking spot at my office. I contacted them and informed them about the issue so I took it back and then they told me that it's a different issue that they didn't tell me about and they can't fix it! But prior to the oil change there was no leaks whatsoever then after the oil service there is leaking oil! But when I talked to them before the service they didn't say anything about that. Took them 15 mins to greet me and I was the ONLY one there! Saw 3 men just walking around. Inquired on an oil change and was quoted $127! I have a 350 Chevy truck. Nothing special. Over priced, and slow. My rough calculations would be $54 for Mobil full synthetic and a model 1 filter in parts alone. That's retail pricing, not your warehouse prices. Great customer service, friendly employees, clear communication, and done in a jiffy! I had a 3k road trip coming up and also had a 90k mileage service that I needed done as well as several other minor tweaks (wiper blades, check transmission, the car makes noise like ____, etc). As soon as I walked in I was greeted and helped. Erik took care of me and made sure that he walked me through every single element of what they were recommending. I didn't feel "upsold" or like I was being pressured to do something that I wasn't comfortable with. Since I'm not much of a car guy, I was glad when they took me through the specifics of what is considered minimum maintenance, expected maintenance, and what is premium. I'm not really a premium kind of guy, so I was assured that I didn't need to spring for the extra stuff. The lobby is quaint, and I was immediately offered a beverage with a smile. After I dropped off the car, I got a call about the brakes and received a clear explanation of where the car was at and if I needed to replace it immediately or if it could wait. I'll probably wait on brakes and I have a good sense of when I'll need to get it done, thanks to Erik breaking it down for me in a way that I could understand as a non-mechanic non-"car guy". In addition, the owner, Mike, specifically stopped by that day and made sure that my experience was nothing short of top notch. He recommended tires in town that would work best for what I needed, and even offered to make an appointment for me! Man, that's some high quality service! The car was done in under an hour, but they kept it and accommodated me since I couldn't come back and get it until later in the afternoon.
