I got suspicious when they told me that my car was done. Yet my hood was still open and they asked me to pay and I asked why my hood was still open and they said they were just finishing up so I paid and didn't tip due to not getting $50 off like I was originally told I would get and the guy that cashed me out shook his head to the other guy, and he sliced my windshield washer, fluid line. Rock at your Harrison Blvd store in South Ogden really blew us away. Our car has felt sluggish and is using a ton of gas. We took it in to have it checked out. He ran the codes then took the time to look things over. Ultimately, he wasn't able to fix what is wrong, but he was able to walk us through what he was looking at, what that might mean, and headed us to the dealer to get specialized help. He was so patient and explained to us clearly what was going on. He seems to not only really know his stuff, but knows how to explain it to those of us who don't. This place a 1 for sure! There were, 3 bays and 5 guys with hands in their pockets, or in their hair. 3 of them just looked at as I waited for assistance. Between the stairs and back and forth about who would get the car someone finally came over. After that my car just sat with 2 open bays and again 4 dudes doing nothing and 1 doing the work. The sign says "Fast Emissions" more like sloth slow service. I went through and for the last 2 years the reviews are all the same, time and urgency being an issue. If it would not have taken so long to run my emissions I wouldn't have been able to write a review. Should have read the reviews before evening thinking about coming here. read more

The place I usually go to change my oil was closed, so I stoped in here. I got here around 3 and its 4:51 now and they are still not done. I went out to talk to them and they were all running around and yelling at each other. It should not take this long for an oil change there was only 1 car in front of me. follow up on last service. decided that since it took Mercedes' three weeks to get a part necessary to pass an inspection the time for a free retest had pasts. I chose to use another station for fear of additional expenses and gladly paid another shop to complete the test. if check in is going to be in the garage or out front, then prices need to be posted where they are visible. read more

Came in for an oil change and was immediately asked to up charge for services I did not request. Was continually badgered throughout the process trying to upsell me. When the oil change was supposed to be complete, the technician came in and told me that the bolt had stripped and it would be 80 dollars to replace. Technician showed me where to wait when I pulled up. Said it would be 15 minutes. When it was my turn, that's when he told me I'd have to get out and go inside, as they were doing construction and couldn't have drive-in customers that day. You'd think he could have told me that 15 minutes earlier. I said I'd go to another drive-in oil service, and I promise I was polite about it. He turned away and snarked, "Okay, you do that!" I'm sure they're fine and typical but we had a Groupon for them ($24.99) but this location doesn't take Groupon. So my son ended up getting a regular service ($85). They did take $20 off, but still, $65 for an oil change? I would have liked it better if they'd directed my son to another station that did take the coupon instead of charing us so much for a basic 5 quart oil change (that I'd already paid for via Groupon). I chose to go to jiffy lube instead of taking my car to Honda to have the oil changed thinking that it would be faster than the dealership. Well I was dead wrong. The original oil change took over an hour, which isn't standard for jiffy lube. After getting the car home I noticed a puddle of oil underneath the car. I immediately took it back where I had to wait another hour just to get into a bay to get it checked. Very slow and poor service. Not happy I had to spend two hours of a Saturday that should have been done right the first time. read more

I dropped my car off this morning at the Jiffy lube on North Main in Layton Utah and requested that they check the left rear tire for leak, rotate my tires, and give me an oil change. They told me that they would call and let me know when my car was ready. After five hours I had to call and was told that my car had been done for quite some time but they have just did not try to call me. When I showed up to get my car, I was informed that they did not rotate my tires as the tech said that the tread on my tires was too low to rotate. This is inaccurate as the tires are roughly a year old and this is The first rotation required. You can visibly tell that the tires are new. I was also told that they were unable to check for a leak in the left rear tire as they could not find the machine that they use to check for leaks in the tire as well as the valve stem. The person that I dropped the car off with was on lunch break when all of the work was "done" and could not vouch for the accuracy. I would in no way recommend this business to any customer. The techs appear to be lazy and dishonest. Update: the manager did call me back and apologized for the inconvenience and offered a refund. He was very nice and apologetic. read more

Terrible wait times. I always like to give the benefit of the doubt to these kinds of places, like if they're busy, understaffed, or whatnot. I hardly even write reviews. But this was awful. There were two cars in front of me, they seemed more than fully staffed, customers weren't even bothering them too much. They announced multiple times that all they were doing was emissions tests and oil changes. So there is no excuse in the world for waiting THREE HOURS for a simple oil change, especially when I was quoted one hour. It took over an hour from the time my car was up next. They did not even ask what kind of oil I wanted and tried to charge me for their most expensive. There was no communication whatsoever on wait times or anything. Worst experience I've ever had at a Jiffy Lube, and that's saying something because last time they stole my cabin air filter. Never going to a jiffy lube ever again it was that bad read more

I am writing a similar poor review of what many have already written. I was at another store with another vehicle that took a half hour, paid $80 and also was able to get my emmissions test and registration completed - all within 1/2 hour. This store kept me in my car while 4-5 different people did various things on the exterior of my car with no urgency. I had to turn on/off my car, check lights myself - all things I thought I paid them to do! I was there over an hour all sitting in my car. Yes it took over an hour. They took my card an paid the bill without going over the bill with me - very poor - I should have known better. It was $20 higher on this vehicle. They weren't even able to get my car registered - their systems were down! I would have liked to know before I gave the ok to do everything. Now I still have to take more time and effort to register my car because they weren't able to do it. Did not complete service requested, cost more money, less comfortable, no urgency - All issues!!! Don't plan on coming back to this store. What a disappointment. read more

OK this is not where I worked! But I did work in a shop in this area and was asked to cover at other shops if they were short handed. Every shop around here is CROOKED! I got to see it first hand, my co-workers would over exaggerate any problem or tell customers that fluid was low when it wasn't or the air filter was bad when it maybe had some dust on it... The sad thing is that my manager was the worst of all she would take advatage of people all day just so that her T.A. (Ticket Average) would stay up. I worked here for a few months but could not take the lies anymore so I found another job and when I put in my two weeks, my Manager FIRED ME! I was never late, never had a sick day other than one, I had a minor surgery WITH a Dr.'s note and I came back before it was recommended by the Dr. yet still I was told to go home and I would not be on the next weeks schedule. I have worked in a mechanic shop since I was very young, my dad is a Mechanic, I rebuilt my first car when I was 16 and still drive it to this day! That being said when you ask for an additional service WE DON'T DO IT RIGHT! We are told to get it done as quickly as possible even if that means leaving out a few crucial steps! There was one time where a customer left her car because she did not want to wait and instead of calling her and asking what oil she wanted put in to her car the manager told us to put full synthetic oil in her car, and replace a practically brand new air filter. When she came back she was floored, she figured that the oil change would only have been around $45 to $50 and instead she was charged over $165 for a full synthetic oil change and an air filter , a coolant top off that she didn't need , and a power steering flush. I don't know how you can do that to people... Do not take your vehicles to Jiffy Lube! You will be lied to, cheated, upsold, and belittled! read more

I called ahead to make sure they weren't busy and came in shortly after. They were able to pull my car in immediately and have me back out of the door in under 30 minutes for a Full Synthetic Oil Change and an emissions test. They even offered me a discount on getting my tires rotated on top of a coupon I had found online. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable and the facility was clear of debris and clutter. Even the waiting area was well stocked with beverages and magazines. While they ran a complimentary check of my vehicle, one of the staff also cleaned my windshield. It was overall a very pleasant experience. read more

Just went to this jiffy lube because my tire was leaking air. I pulled up and told the man that my tire was leaking air, and that i needed it patched. After about 3-4 minutes they came back in and said "we ran some water around it and there seems to be no leak." And I told them I could hear it leaking, so they said to go to les Schwab. Then I asked, don't you guys do flat tire repairs? In which he responded with "not really" and their website clearly states that HIGHLY trained technicians know exactly how to fix flat tires. They didn't even take off my tire!! They just spun some water in it and said there was no leak, and that they filled it up. Well, I just got home, and immediately looked at my tire, heard the air, and found the leak!! In literally 5 seconds. Safe to say I will never go to jiffy lube again. Hopefully my tire has enough air in the morning to make it to les Schwab. read more

Terrible customer service, questionable skill sets: I had given up on this Jiffy Lube long ago, but was turned away by 2 other shops (couldn't do safety prior 96' vehicle) and they were my last resort today, and they stayed true to reason they lost my business. My biggest beef with Jiffy is the fact that they have the worst customer service. I have waited 15 mins to an hour to pay and leave after my vehicle was done and out of the garage. Today I stopped by for safety and emissions, was told it would be 40 mins before they could get me in. No problem, I'll wait. 45 minutes later they came and told me they're closing and that I can bring it back tomorrow. They couldn't have told me they close in 40 minutes come back tomorrow. Instead you let me sit that long to be turned away. read more

HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE! PLEASE READ - I WANT TO WARN YOU, DO NOT GO TO THIS JIFFY LUBE!!! NO STARS! I took my car to get a simple oil change with regular oil (not synthetic) as it was a 2010 Toyota Corolla. I dropped it off where Joseph, took it and said it should take no more than 15 minutes and he'd call me if there was anything wrong. My sister and I left and made it two minutes before Joseph called me on my cell. He tried to up-sell me on Synthetic oil where I stated that we just wanted the regular for now (knowing my car can take regular). He then told me "they couldn't do the regular on my car and would have to do the synthetic"... I asked him, "So, you're telling me there's no way that you can give me an oil change with regular oil?" and he said, "well it will cause huge issues and damage to your car". I told him I'd call him back after I called Toyota. I called Toyota where they stated I had always got the regular, my car would be fine with a regular, no damage would occur to it with regular oil and it did not require synthetic oil. I called Joseph back and told him Toyota said regular is all my car needs and it wouldn't cause issues to my car. He was not happy that he could not up-sell me and quickly got off the phone with me. Well, 5 minutes later and I get another call from Joseph who states that "they cannot get the "oil filter cap" off of my car and would have to break it to get it off, therefore costing me $60 to replace it." He couldn't even explain what the oil filter cap was so I had to look it up myself. I called another Jiffy Lube to ask them, "if I brought my car in and you couldn't get my oil filter cap off, how much would that cost me?" The representative was very confused and said, "well first, Jiffy Lube doesn't sell/replace oil filter caps, I don't see why we wouldn't be able to get it off or why it would break if we tried..." It was like he thought I was prank calling the question was so bizarre to him - need I remind you this is another Jiffy Lube and he is clearly telling me they don't sell/replace them. I asked "how much would it cost if I had to get one, would it be like $60?" He stated, "there's no way that would cost you $60, it would cost you $20, maybe $30 at most but not even close to $60". I went back and picked up my car and did not have the Layton Jiffy Lube perform my oil change that would now cost me over $100. I asked Joseph, "If I take my car to another place, are they going to tell me they can't get my oil filter cap off or they have to break it?" He mentioned, "Well yeah, it's on too tight so unless they have different techniques than us they won't be able to get it off without breaking it and charging you to replace it." Different techniques??? It's an oil change! I took it to Burt Brother's in Farmington. They were able to change my oil within the hour and did not mention anything about having trouble getting off the oil filter cap. I know Joseph was lying to me and I'm thoroughly disappointed. I live in a blue collar neighborhood where I could see people falling for this trap, being forced to pay for parts they don't even carry or thinking they have to get up-selled in fear of damage to their car (which was a lie). I'm spreading my word, my experience to help other people from falling for this scam! read more

They said my front brakes weren't so bad they couldn't pass inspection but advised I get them done soon. I didn't have the money at the time for brakes. Then months later I find out that it wasn't the right filter at all. They even misplaced a part that goes inside the cap which caused the oil to start leaking everywhere . read more

Brought in our 1993 F150. We paid for the full service. The tech pencil whipped the inspection leaving us with a transmission critically low of fluid. 150 miles later the transmission is completely destroyed. I asked Jiffy Lube to be to stand behind their work. I got accused of draining the fluid. Then the story changed to the fluid must have leaked out. Obviously the trans fluid was never checked leaving us broke down during rush hour traffic on I15. This Jiffy Lube isn't even worth the 1 star rating. read more

Stopped in on the way home to get the oil changed in my work van. 1 car was in the safety/ IM bay 1 in the other oil bay. I pulled into the other oil bay. Was told it would be 15 minutes or less. After 40 minutes I could see that my hood had not even been opened. They had four guys working that I saw. Well, I saw them in the shop. I did not see them working on any of the three cars in the shop. I left at that point. They didn't seem the least bit surprised when I walked out to my van and drove away. Will NEVER go back!! Zero stars! I took my 2011 Nissan Leaf in for an inspection and they failed it because the passenger wiper blade had a less than half inch separation in it that wasn't causing the wiper blade to fail. We are talking about the less than 1/3 of an inch on the outer part of the passenger side of the window. It was functioning fine (Of course they wanted to sell me a wiper blade). They also failed me saying my tint was below the AS1 line on the window (which it wasn't, it just looked like it because of the curve of the glass). So after several attempts to meet up with the tint shop before they closed, my tint guy drove back with me to the place and showed them that it wasn't below the AS1 line. Soo not happy about all that time wasted, and they left black grease marks on the interior door cloth that I haven't been able to get out. Needless to say I won't be going back to that Jiffy Lube or any others ever again! Save yourself the hassle and just go somewhere else, anywhere else. read more
