This location is our preferred because we've had good experiences here, versus less than stellar performance at other locations. After you park, you may be met by a technician, or you can go inside and get in line for the counter. On our last visit, I approached the counter and told them what I needed. We've bought tires here, had flat tires repaired, aired up tires, checked tire pressures, and rotated/balance tires for maintenance. Before Covid, they had a refrigerator with water, but that is gone now. On my last visit, I had an appointment for a rotation. It seemed that they were pretty busy, and I still had to wait 1 hour for the rotation to be completed. I cannot guess what the wait would have been without an appointment. The service is cordial and they are knowledgeable. They do an inspection, and inform you of any concerns they may have for your tires, but they aren't heavy handed on upselling you with repairs, or replacements, if they aren't needed. First off I had a horrible morning, a rock hit my windshield and I had a flat tire and I was extremely late for work and cried a little in my car because tires are expensive. I called and talked to a man named Josh and he assured me that no one would judge me for buying cheap good tires and I vented a little and he was very nice. When I got there I talked to a man named AJ who was extremely helpful as well and explained everything pretty well. I asked my dumb questions because I've always had someone take care of my car but not anymore. I'm an independent single woman so I need to know these things. I've always had my tires done here as far as I can remember. The personnel here are fantastic and are willing to help. If they aren't completely swamped someone will come out and see whats going on and what you need help with. I always give a call before I come in to make sure or just set an appointment. I purchased tires here with a warranty and have never had a problem getting new ones when my current ones get a nail or unsafe to drive on. This is my story... if it helps someone else, great. If not, we all have to do what we have to do. Got a nail in my tire & it was flat when I went to leave today. My husband filled it with compressed air & we were heading to Big O Tire on Main (because of prior great service) to get it patched when my husband noticed Discount Tire on Hillfield. Since it was just a patch, we figured why not. We were told it would be about 30 mins & it would be free. We thought "great, another tire place with great service close to us". Boy were we WRONG!! *RED FLAG* the counter guy came out to "inspect" the tire... and started a sales pitch in the parking lot for 2 new front tires. "NO THANKS!" is what we said. Next thing we know... the counter guy is telling us that the tire has been removed, inspected & they will not be patching it OR PUTTING IT BACK ON because the inside wall of the tire is damaged. Really? Wow, what an amazing coincidence that you wanted to sell me new front tires & now you refuse to put my front tire back on FORCING me to make a purchase. WOW! Unbeknownst to Discount Tire, my father-in-law owned & operated a garage in MD for 35 years. My husband worked in this garage from the time he was 13 until 23 when he graduated from college. So he went to look at the tire himself. He said there were 2 small areas of wear, but that it was fine & safe as is. My husband knows what he's talking about. Discount Tire still REFUSED to put my tire back on! My husband was LIVID at what they were doing to us. I said I felt it was extortion. The counter guy said "I apologize, but we feel it would be unsafe... blah blah blah". I had NO RECOURSE, but to buy a tire. Staff is friendly and welcoming. I've regularly had my tires done at this location for years, but my car hasn't been the same since they didn't tighten any of the lug nuts on my front two tires post tire swap/balance. I drove about 3 miles before I realized what was happening. They did take responsibility and compensated me with throwing two more new tires I bought on for free (swap/balance) a few days later. But, like I said, something has been wobbling hard ever since that incident. I checked all tie rods and steering mechanisms; they are functioning properly. Felt like front right tire was/is the culprit, and confirmed this when I moved it to right rear. All I can think of now is a bent rim.... I left on a 30 day vacation to see my son, three days after this incident, so I feel like I don't have any hope of getting help now. I called the store to tell them I was at a hotel about 1/2 mile away with a flat tire on the front passenger side. I asked if they could send a guy out with an air tank or mobile compressor to air my tire up so I could drive it in to their place of business and get it repaired. They informed me that they didn't have a compressed air tank or a mobile compressor and couldn't do mobile service. I was quite taken back that a tire shop didn't have anything to air up a tire that was not in their shop. The guy on the phone did say he would be happy to repair the tire if and when I could get it into the shop. I called Trav's Tire Pros which was also nearby and they sent a guy right out with a compressed air tank. He inflated my tire and I followed him back to his shop where he repaired my tire and made me a happy customer. Professional Customer service all the way! read more

I usually only write reviews for restaurants but I will make an exception for this particular Discount Tire store. I had driven the tread off my tires on my Mazda so it was time for new tires, a time I typically dread. I did some online research like always and chose a tire that would work and found I could get them at discount. I verified this location had them and used the online tool to book an appointment. I quickly got a an email response confirming my appointment for the next day. The next day I got a friendly call reminding me of the appointment (no upsale, no BS), when I pulled up they greeted me outside and quickly got the car in the garage. They were a bit busy but provided me with updates and 20-30 minutes later they were done, they notified me, pulled the car to the door and gave me a friendly send off at the car, all and all a far better experience than previous tire changes at other Discount tires and other chains. I told the wife about this experience, she drives a lot so tire rotations come frequently for her and many times result in long waits and disappointment. The next time she needed a rotate she booked an appointment at this location, got a friendly reminder and she showed up 15 minutes early, they had her truck done before her original appointment and provided the same exceptional communication and service I received making her verrrrry happy/ She plans to continue to use these folks for tire rotates and when her tires need changing (not too far in the horizon). We highly recommend this particular store ,not so much that you all get in our way, but they have great service and integrity which is hard to find. These guys rock! I pulled up, and before I was out of my car, Kevin was walking across the parking lot to greet me with a handshake and a smile. He measured my tread depth, brought me inside and showed me a chart of how my tire treads were holding up relative to stopping distances. They got my car in quickly, and as always they did excellent work. This is the only place I would ever go for tires. This place was PHENOMENAL. I called in 10/2/2020 and Brandon answered. Brandon answered the phone so cheerfully and was Uber friendly. He then transferred me to Kevin and Kevin was able to assist me with ordering brand new tires for my Mercedes. Kevin took the time to answer all of my questions and was also very kind and friendly. Stopped by today to get a tire replaced. The original tires are only 6 months old which were bought at Goodyear. Goodyear was not able to get me a replacement tire today and couldn't guarantee it would be a matching tread even if they could find one. They were happy to sell me another set, but needless to say I was not happy since I paid $800 six months ago. I decided to go to discount tire instead, and am thrilled that I did. They had the tires in stock and gave me a great price. The waiting room is very clean, has free bottled water and snacks too. They took the time to explain to me the best solution and got me taken care of and back on the road in less than an hour. They even do free flat repairs and rotations even though the original tires were not purchased there. All around great experience! They have my business going forward. Goodyear can suck it! Anyways I showed up after they closed and I really didn't want to keep them from getting off work. He kept saying they would complete the work and I had to say no like 5 times but I set up everything to get the job done tomorrow all I have to do is drop the car off tomorrow but it was nice to pay for the replacement tire and know they would have done the work if I wanted them to. Was a customer of this location and in good faith I sent a friend of mine to get some tires mounted I sold him. The contact at the store not only ran the tires down that I sold him, they made it obvious that they weren't happy about mounting them for 20.00 a tire. (No balance atv tires). They disparaged the tires and on there website they sell the same brand. Not enough for this company to make 80.00 for mounting 4 small tires. Never will I do business with this company again and I will make sure no one I know does. read more

I am one (yes, I admit it) to typically complain when things run longer than expected and pace the waiting room :-). But this visit was very enjoyable - the employees there are great to work with and truly recognized the needs. I came to the location in need of one tire, and came out with 4 tires. No, they did not up sell me. They honestly walked me through each tire, and carefully explained and showed me each area of concern, and noted that my tires were 17 years old (trailer). They outlined all my options, and reviewed my use of the vehicle. About six months ago I had to replace a tire on my car. I couple months ago I noticed the tire was not the same as the others, different speed rating/tread but same brand. They replaced it with the correct tire. Last Thursday I had all the tires replaced on my Durango. On Saturday we had to drive down the interstate and we felt a bad vibration. At first I thought it may have been high pressure since they apparently filled one of the tires 5 PSI more than the others. I removed some air but the issue did not go away. After our appointment we went to the discount tire store in Murray so they can check the vehicle. All 4 tires were out of balance. They stayed late to rebalance our tires and the vibrations were gone. I used to visit Discount Tire's store in Roy but we moved to near this store. I will return to the Roy store now. read more

I've been doing business with Discount Tire Layton for 6yrs. They are always professional and priced right! Our family has a fleet of cars with 100% Discount Tires. I also find myself encouraging my friends to go to Discount Tire, and we almost always end up at Discount Tire. The "real awakening" came when I was in Las Vegas on a business trip, and was not only pressed for time, but got the mega flu the the day I arrived for a week. My brakes had picked up salt and ground them down to metal on metal on the left side only. I decided, against my better judgement, to break the Discount Tire relationship; but, since I was a good distance from home, and my 4 yr old tires were finally cracked deep into the center of the tread, to go ahead and get tires at another place, Big-O Tires. I knew better than to mess with a good thing by going somewhere other than Discount, but ... well, I can't begin to tell you the nightmare I had with these tires, going back 3 times and still not balanced. They claimed it was shocks. Can you imagine going 45 mph all the way back from Vegas to SLC? Well, as it turned out, Discount helped me straighten out most of the problem, by replacing the center alignment spacers that were thrown away by Big Opps. The shocks were't even close to the problem, since they were not the issue at all. I can't wait till these tires wear out. I went in and told the guy that my tires seal had broken before. He said "okay, we will take a look and get this fixed for you." I leave my car there for 45 minutes. Am told that the issue is fixed. I drove an hour away from the store and at 1 am as I am headed back I have a flat. On the same tire they said that they had fixed. I check my receipt and they just put air into the tire. I had to change my tire at 1 am because of the incompetence of this store. I will NOT return to this or any Discount Tire location. I am beyond fuming with this. This is the worst store I have been to. It has changed my view on this company as a whole. I would absolutely NOT recommend this company to ANYONE.
