Somebody forgot to tighten something. My new truck was dribbling oil on my nearly new driveway. Brought it back and the manager said I shouldn't park on the driveway. The manager tried to blame me for the mess. Yes, he sent someone to try to clean up the mess but it is an oil spill. It is still there. Never again. It's unfortunate that I did not do this oil change myself , Working on trucks all day has me not wanting to do it at home so I figured I would take my wife's car over to jiffy for a oil change. They made a huge mess under the car, for those who know it's a 96 4Runner. The oil filter being where it is makes a mess when taken out. I kind of figured they would have washed it down some. But I guess that is to tall an order for these folks. When I realized it was dripping oil I went and washed it off & to make sure nothings actually leaking. It left about a 10" circle from being parked for a few minutes. I went back to the location just to let them know hey that's not cool, imagine if I went straight home and it did this in my drive way ? I would be much more upset. To add to this when I was paying the gentleman who was one of the guys doing the oil change came & told Me "all looks good, no leaks " I think the best part is that when I went back, the guy who told me " no leaks " Note there was no leak, just a huge mess. This guy was the manager? All I can say is if that happen at my work it would be embarrassing for the shop. I wasn't looking for anything in return, just raise awareness for the manager that their guys are not cleaning up their mess. BEWARE! I have been taking personal and business vehicles to this location for many years. My most recent experience ended that, permanently, and I advise you take your cars somewhere else. It went like this: I brought my wife's new 2023 Toyota 4runner here for its very first oil change at 7K miles. I elected to "stay in the vehicle" during the service and was in the car in the bay while the service was being performed. Keep in mind that a 4runner is a pretty common vehicle around Northern Nevada and they probably see many of them each day. During the service I noticed that there seemed to be a lot of cranking and pulling going on underneath the vehicle which seemed odd. It also took about 45 minutes to complete the service which is also much longer than usual in my past experience. There also seemed to be more scurrying around than usual indicating that something may not have been going as planned. Having spent my entire life in the construction business, I am familiar with situations like this where employees are trying to unf*ck something that has gone awry. Finally they finished and I left. The next day there is a puddle the size of a fried egg under the 4runner in my garage...but it was red...transmission fluid and not oil. Now anyone that knows anything about modern Toyotas knows they have a sealed transmission that doesn't need the fluid changed for 100K miles or longer. Unfortunately the plug for the transmission pan is just aft of the plug for the oil which on many 4runners is under the skid plate. So long story short, the tech obviously was inexperienced and didn't know where the oil plug on the 4runner (one of the most common vehicles on the road in Carson City) as opposed to the plug for the transmission which on this car should never be opened by anyone other than the dealer. He obviously started to remove the plug on the transmission and when he saw red fluid coming out he slammed the plug back in before it lost a bunch of fluid and then figured out that the crankcase plug was closer to the front of the car. Naturally I went back down to Jiffy Lube the next day and reported what happened. They asked if they could take a look and I was not willing to do so given the situation. Why would I let them touch what they just messed up? So, next I took the car to the Toyota dealership in town to have them check and service the transmission. When we told them why we were there they said that they see this once or twice a month and that these oil change places are notorious for having inexperienced staff down in the pit that does not know the difference between the transmission drain plug and the crankcase (oil) drain plug. Servicing the transmission on a modern Toyota requires several steps that involve bringing the transmission to temperature and filling it a certain way. Not just an open the drain and replace the fluid like you might do with other cars. Apparently it can really only be done by the dealer and rarely needs to be done. The transmission service at the dealer cost over $400.00. When I brought the bill back to Jiffy Lube the onsite supervisor said they would look at the cameras in the pit to see if it was their fault and then get in touch with me. As one might expect, they did call me a few days later and tell me that they didn't see anything on the camera and that the transmission cost was on me. When I asked to see the footage myself, they declined. Interestingly they didn't even offer to comp the oil change that was well north of $100.00 with the synthetic oil. After dozens of oil changes at this place on many different vehicles I will never go back again and I highly recommend no one else does either. I understand people make mistakes and screw things up, but when you do you should take responsibility, not lie to me and tell me you did nothing wrong and send me off. Although I am a very busy person and don't have the time I will be filing a claim in small claims court to recover my $400.00 for the repair at Carson City Toyota. This place is highly unprofessional, employs inexperienced staff that does not know what they are doing, will damage your vehicle, and then, on top of all that, lie to you about what happened and tell you to GFY. I will be posting this review in as many places as possible so people can avoid the giant headaches and costs this place caused. They suck. read more

I'm from way out of state and was visiting family for a week when my car decided it needed its diaper changed (regular 5,000 mile maintenance). I was so impressed with Spencer (Manager) and Ricky (Asst. Mgr) level of professionalism, thorough but understandable explanations without all the jargon, and their time efficiency. Because of my experience I visited the next day with my disabled aunts car for some major work; regular maintenance, rear wheel differential fluid exchange, and coolant exchange. Naomi greeted me right away, got to work as soon as another car was done and was professional but friendly the entire time. The only thing left is for me to finish a transmission fluid exchange at some point soon. The last time I visited here years ago, I was so unhappy with their service and my experience that I vowed to never come back. I'm so glad that I did tho. Spencer has really turned this location around and it shows in how happy the employees appear and the quality service they provide. I'd return here again and highly recommend them to everyone. He waited a while which they apologized for however when he got his car back the passenger seat was covered in oil which were still trying to clean off. Photo shows oil all over our leather seat, door, and Kleenexes after our Jiffy Lube oil change. Evidently they had to enter the cab to change an air filter. I have an older Class C RV. This location has tall bays so they had no problem pulling it in. Let me add that I really enjoy this old rig and they provided service like she was a million dollar RV. Oil change, air filter, checked out everything you can imagine. They even got one of my tail lights to work that I hadn't been able to. Very friendly service. They apologized for the time it took, but as thorough as they were, I didn't consider it very long at all. They had the parts in stock too, which I appreciate because it is an older rig and sometimes, I have to wait a day for parts. Top notch service that I will recommend!! Thank you so much! read more

I will never return to this Jiffy Lube. The lady this morning was so rude to me that I decide to leave rather than have my car serviced. She spoke to me like I was an idiot. The entire conversation I was met with attitude. I parked up front because they had just opened and I planned on leaving my car all morning. I didn't pull around the back because I was going to tell them this and if they wanted to do my car later it wouldn't be in the way. As soon as I walked in the lady goes (with her bad attitude) "you need to pull your car around the back". I said I am wanting to leave my car and go back to work so I was hoping it would be quick and they could do the oil change when they have time. She goes, well yeah but you still need to pull your car around back and I'll need to get all your information so... She was talking to me like I was too dumb to understand that I need to bring my car around back... At that point I would go elsewhere because I don't need to spend money at a shop where the employees make you feel like an idiot. I understand we all have bad days but I work in the medical field and every day I have to put a smile on my face and treat patients with respect no matter what is going on in my life. A friend of mine was visiting from out of state. Her rental car started displaying a warning that she needed her oil changed. At the recommendation of the local Enterprise office, we went to Jiffy Lube on N. Carson St in Carson City. She was very stressed out about having to get the vehicle serviced when she was only in town for a limited time. The young men at Jiffy Lube did an outstanding job. They checked to make sure all of her lights were working, checked all of her filters, changed the oil, checked the levels of all the other fluids, and even cleaned all the windows for her. Because it was a rental vehicle, she didn't always know where the correct buttons were that she needed to push, but they were very familiar with the vehicle we were in. We sat in air-conditioned comfort inside her vehicle while these very courteous, capable young men swarmed all around the outside. In a very short time, we were back on the road. Kudos to Ryan-the manager-for running such a tight ship. I wish I could give them 10 stars. Very pleased with their service. read more

Buyers beware. I purchased an oil/filter change for my 04 Lexus RX330. When I went to check out I was charged an additional $17. They told me I had to pay for an additional quart of oil that my car took 6 quarts. Owners manual say 5 quarts with filter. Then he said there was an additional fee for AWD. They charged this so they can inspect. I didn't request this service. I will not recommend this business. read more

This is one of the worst oil change places I've seen. My daughter went here for just a standard oil change, and they took advantage of her by selling her a synthetic oil change that she didn't ask for. They charged her to "top off" her coolant and vacuum her floor. The most I've ever paid for any oil change was $60 at any place for my Dodge Challenger, which I put top end oil in. She was charged over $100 for sub par service. They also tried to sell her on a bunch of other services that she didn't need. They wanted to charge her $30 to change the air filter, which you can buy at walmart for $8, and it takes 2 seconds to replace. Beware of this Jiffy Lube, stay away. This is one of the worst oil change places I've seen. Update: I originally gave this 1 star, but they did end up refunding her money. Added two more stars, but they shouldn't be so pushy on up-selling their customers. Thank you for the refund, but do it right the first time. read more

My husband took his new (to him) truck to the North Carson location after the Hwy 50 one said their computer was down and could not give us a timeframe. The young lady greeted us immediately and took our info. The oil life gauge said it was at 80% but we didn't know how accurate it was. She checked the oil and even got a second opinion for confirmation that it was clean and a change was not needed. There was no one waiting and it would have been easy for them to do an oil change just to keep busy. It was a nice change of pace from constantly trying to be upsold. Took my Jeep Cherokee in for service they changed air filters but on the Cabin Air filter they broke a piece off the blower housing and did not tell me I took it back and they remembered breaking it and didn't tell me got an estimate at jeep dealership and after they got in to fix it is more then estimate and Jiffy Lube said they where not paying anymore even though they broke it is almost 1,300 more this is a bad way to do business tear your car up then they don't want to stand behind there work I am out of state working and I guess they think I will leave. I have filled out a complaint with Attorney General and Consumer License Bureau that I will drop off tomorrow to get something done and will call my attorney also to fill charges. Know what service your car is due for before you go in. They will try to upsell you services by claiming they know your cars reccomended service requirements which isn't completely true. They claimed just living in Nevada qualifies for the "severe duty" service requirements. This led to all kinds of charges and surcharges taking my $29 coupon to a $150 bill. I would NOT recommend this business. I went in for a quick oil change before I left on a trip. They broke my steering column, I had to call a tow truck as I could not drive the vehicle and they had the nerve to say that I must have brought it in that way?!?! They took no responsiblity for the damage. I had to rent a car for my trip, pay for a tow and have my steering column replaced. So much for the quick oil change. Staff has great attitude. Lady manager seems very keen to run a tight shop. Only complaint is the TV in the waiting area was locked on a never ending infomercial regarding car maintenance tips. 100% annoying. Waiting for a car service is a good time to be alone, check emails, pray, read quietly, etc....Instead customers have two choices: sit a listen to a never ending infomercial or stand outside. read more
