Found this jiffy lube on uber driver application. I was told it needed brakes front and back. Tires. Tie rod ends. Sway links. My car had been inspected in September and was told it needed nothing. It was in for repair two weeks ago and was told again everything looked great. Then today I went to Midas who told me the van was in great shape. Needed nothing. And passed the inspection. Without question, this proved to be a most positive experience. In addition to getting the oil change I needed (as well as being informed on other issues found per routine)...the Tech's discovered other potential issues, one being that my battery posts were corroded. The other was the installation of the battery itself, which occurred after having it installed at another facility. The install had been sloppily done, causing the battery to shift about. I'd not have known this had they not done a thorough inspection. Both the battery post corrosion and tightening of the battery were remedied, for which I was most grateful. I ended up paying for more than I'd anticipated (I needed an cabin filter as well), but the money was well spent, to say nothing of the peace of mind I had thereafter. The service crew were friendly, professional and warm. I can't emphasize enough how much this meant to me. This location had my business without question for future needs. I brought my car in for an oil change, and the store manager questioned me about the oil around the engine. I explained that I had recently replaced the gaskets because they were leaking. He then asked why I hadn't done an oil change at that time, and I told him I hadn't had the time. He repeated the same question multiple times, and after I gave the same answer, he told me to take the car back to the mechanic. At that point, I clarified that I am capable of doing the work myself. The repeated questioning was unnecessary and became quite frustrating, and because of this experience, I will not be returning to this store. read more

Found the staff very pleasant on arrival. I requested a conventional oil change and was quoted $59.95. When I checked out there were 2 additional charges on my bill. A $7.99 disposal fee and a $3.99 oil filter charge. These charges hadn't been disclosed to me when the price was quoted or explained to me when I paid an additional $12.00 plus tax. I found this to be intentionally deceiving. First I have never been charged for these 2 items at any other oil change place and felt that these should have been included in the quoted price or at the very least disclosed as additional services. So my $59.95 oil change was in fact a $70 plus service. Consequently I would not recommend this Jiffy Lube location. I also thought they were trying to upsell other services that I certainly wouldn't have done at an oil change facility. read more

Every time I come to this location I am very happy that Nico helps me. Nico is very friendly and remembers me. I keep coming back because of Nico. My check engine light was on and I took it to Autozone for diagnostic purposes and it showed I needed to have a new thermostat. He told me get one from the auto store and he would put it in. It saved me money. He told me it would take about 45 minutes and it was done when he said it would. He also noticed that I needed a light replaced. Oil change was quick, my tires got filled and other things, I never had to leave my car! I had 2 service lights on my dashboard pulling in and one was a tire pressure light that's been on for 2 years, not even the tire store could manage to reset it. HOWEVER, a very charismatic and helpful gentleman with warm brown hair and a friendly smile was incredibly helpful and had all the tricks! Update: I am a college student, and I got my oil changed about a month or two ago here. I elected to go with the fully synthetic oil change. I have just come to find out that my car has been leaking oil since my oil change due to a loose drain plug. So, I tightened the drain plug and refilled it with 3 quarts of oil. My dip stick was completely dry and might've had 2 quarts of oil in the car when I refilled it. If I had not caught this, it would have cost me a new engine, and I am a college student already in enough debt. I am balling on a budget and try to take care of car since I do not live in Illinois and often have to take road trips. If I cannot trust a business to tighten my drain plug, they have merited a bad review, in my opinion. Will try somewhere else next time. read more

I came here Wednesday for an oil change. Was told it would be about 30 minutes- we were there for over two hours in an 85 degree waiting room that was irritating so maybe it would deserve three stars. Flash forward to Sunday, I'm taking my kids to the store and my son says "uhh, mom? I think your car threw up." I looked, and sure enough, OIL WAS EVERYWHERE! I popped the hood to see what was going on and JIFFY LUBE FORGOT TO PUT MY OIL CAP BACK ON AFTER MY OIL CHANGE! So for FOUR days I've been driving around, spewing oil all over the place. I have been to this location for a few years now. I have also been to the surrounding 4 other locations and I can say with certainty, this location is the only one where I felt like they actually cared about getting my car leaving here in better condition. There has been a few really good mechanics here but Anton is the guy that's been the most consistent and he is exactly the kind of customer service employee I would expect from Jiffy Lube. I went to the location only a few minutes from me. I should've listened to my gut when I saw the previous reviews and they were bad. I pull in asking for an oil change. They claimed they couldn't get my hood open past the lock mechanism . They recommend I go to a body shop. I've also never had a problem opening the hood myself or any other place I have received services. I was pissed. I go home and I was able to open it myself. Things have changed here and I had a bad feeling when I was finished. It's hard to explain, but I felt like I had been dealing with a used car dealer. Something just wasn't right! When I got there, there was nobody outside and none of the doors were open. I waited and then one opened, so I drove in. Then I opened the door and got out. THEN I was greeted. In the past, there was someone outside helping me out and talking to me. Not this time. When I got out of my car, I was escorted to the waiting area. I was the only person there. Then I waited for them to call me and talk about what I wanted. What was I waiting for? What were they doing? They had no other customers! I just wanted an oil change. I got the talk about getting synthetic oil ($75-$80!). I have a mini van for god's sake and don't need synthetic, but they were pushing it. Then I waited some more. Then I was called out for the "you need a new air filter and wiper blades" talk. While they were working on my car, the technicians were yelling to each other. Not chit chatting, but yelling random numbers or the lead guy was yelling and asking the others if they did certain tasks. I was the only person there, so I don't get why they couldn't just talk to each other. It's not like they were busy or standing far away from each other! It was bizarre. When I was finished, I paid and then walked out to my car and got in. No thank you, no come see us again, nothing. I didn't have to go there, but I felt like I was interrupting their day! The entire experience was unsettling and I can't put my finger on exactly why. read more

Wow. It is amazing this place is open for business after the clear lack of customer service and general people skills maintained by the staff and management. Sunday, I checked the website to find that Jiffy Lube in Carol Stream was open until 6pm. Being just after 4pm, I had plenty of time. I pulled in at exactly 4:30pm. The moment I pulled around, a guy stopped us and said they were now closing. We informed him the website said 6pm. He told us we were wrong and that they close at 5pm. Remember, it is 4:30pm. So we point this out to him. He walks away. We pulled around and parked to find the manager. The manager on duty was Tony. He informed us they close at 4pm. This brings the total to four different times we have been given. Upon trying to politely point this out to him, Tony would not let us speak and kept speaking over us. He was belligerent. After repeated attempts to speak, we finally got in a word citing our inability to get him to speak to us calmly. At this point, he told us he'd call the cops on us. Yeah, nice. We left. About what you'd expect from a chain oil change place. This location is a block from home so Wifey-poo and I have both brought our cars in for oil. If you come in and ask for an oil change and get nothing else you'll get a fair deal with good service. I've gotten anywhere from good to great service depending on who is working that day. The only way you'll go wrong is if you have them do anything but change the oil. Wiper blades cost 3x the price here and most other services are more expensive than going to a legit mechanic. .. but for oil and only oil these guys are fine and have never given me bad service or done poor work. read more

I've been here probably a dozen times over the last couple of years. The best service that I have experienced has been a 1-2 star rating. Today was different. Claudio was my tech, I came in and said what I needed in the middle of a phone call. He took my car, topped off the fluids, pumped air into my tires and vacuumed the interior. All within 20 minutes. I called near closing time about having a headlight bulb replaced on my Jeep, and he encouraged me to bring it in rather than how most places would discourage a late customer from coming in. When I pulled up, I was told by the guy that works there that he couldn't do an oil change because he was alone which is against rules. I can understand that-safety-but where was the other guy 45 minutes after open???!!! I feel bad for the guy that actually bothered to show up to work on time because I'm sure HE got the brunt of the anger from customers who couldn't get their oil changes done. Trust, the most important of all criteria when we decide where to get our vehicles serviced, was totally lost on me today (1/21/19). Unprofessional, pushy, almost rude up-selling. I get it, it's business, but there's a proper way to present it ... respectful conversation, not a one-way speal which insulted my intelligence. The detail - rather than coming in after 3k miles, I went 4.6k, always do around 5k or so, and always been told that's fine (at the shop I went to before moving). Here they tell me I need a high mileage oil for an additional $27. (69.99 rather than 42.99 before fees and tax). But again, this was more about manners, comfort, and trust, not the cost. read more
