They had 3 guys doing nothing while one guy worked on one car at a time. Something is not being managed correctly at this location.

Was told oil change would be about 40 min which was fine. But it took two hours. Not worth it.

Brake Masters

It is unfortunate that I am having to write this…read more On June 25, 2025, I had service done at this Brakemasters location on my Land Rover. They replaced the harmonic balancer, idler pulley, serpentine belt, and performed an oil change. On August 27, 2025, my car stalled out with no power and had to be towed back. That Friday morning, the shop told me they could not figure it out and asked me to tow it elsewhere. I did. The new mechanic immediately discovered that when Brakemasters replaced the harmonic balancer, the repair had not been done correctly--the bolt could literally be removed by hand. This caused the part to slip, leading to catastrophic engine damage. I attempted to resolve this directly with the store. I spoke with Curtis, who was dismissive, rude, and adamant that no mistake had been made. On September 2, 2025, I reached out to corporate and spoke with Christian Smith, who returned my call on September 3. He apologized, explained in detail what had happened, and admitted liability. He assured me Brakemasters would "make this right" and that my engine would be replaced either through their corporate account or insurance. Unfortunately, Brakemasters opted to turn this over to Nationwide Insurance, which now wants to total my car. That option does not make me whole--it leaves me without a vehicle and does not even cover the payoff balance. On September 9, I again contacted Christian, making it clear that a payout would not resolve this issue and that I simply needed the repair done. Since then, corporate has completely ghosted me. On September 11, Nationwide informed me that Brakemasters would no longer respond or engage with me and that they would only "settle" through insurance. To this day, Brakemasters has not refunded the money I paid for the faulty repair, nor have they taken responsibility for correcting the damage their negligence caused. My car has now been sitting at another mechanic's shop for over three weeks. This is not how you fix a mistake. This is not ethical business practice. I did not want to post negatively, but I've been forced to. This matter is being reported to the Better Business Bureau, the Arizona Attorney General, and the Texas Attorney General. It is astounding to me that a company can cause this kind of damage, openly admit fault, then abandon the customer entirely. Brakemasters has done nothing to make this right.

Terrible customer service. I know what I say might be controversial, however as a Spanish speaker…read moremyself I do have some expectations that whomever is at the front desk be bilingual. Meaning also speak English. My husband went in and couldn't communicate with the person at the desk and had to speak in his best Spanish. But excuse me, the other person needs to also try. The auto center worker seems like he only mumbles and grunts. He kept saying something and walking away. We had no idea what he was talking about. We checked on the vehicle later to see how it was coming along and noticed it had been moved from the original parking space so we thought it was done. WRONG...when we asked if it was ready a guy said, "oh it needs a lift." and just kept walking. One guy said oh no I don't answer questions I only take your money. The workers have no sense of customer service or communication skills at all. They walked directly in-front of me as I'm trying to exit with a cart full of groceries and apparently can't say excuse me. I finally just pushed my cart through them. I don't have to be polite if you don't have any manners and can't bother yourself to be courteous. This is why Discount is so popular. They get the job done quick and are very attentive. Never coming back here.

I had multiple contacts with personnel getting new tires ordered and put on, and balancing. Also other items worked on. Shout out to manager Sergio for overseeing a situation I had and he resolved immediately to my benefit. I will continue to use and the warranty work will be good at any Walmart Auto Care Center. As I got new warranted tires that require rotation and balancing that is a plus because I travel a lot.

Overcharged and refused to honor what they quoted me. Short version, they overcharged $10 dollars,…read morerefused to budge, seems they cared more of the $10 dollars than a customer. For me, it was a matter of principal, not the $10 dollars. If you say something, then you need to honor it. Long version: I don't normally go to oil change places but been in a time crunch lately and car needed one urgently. Saw they had this place with $20 off. The price is $52.99 up to 5qt and then extra for each quart. In this case, it was $7.99. I figured around $67 after taxes without the $20 discount and around $45 with the discount. Well, they have a shop service fee of $3.99 which they didn't disclose, which is fine, most places do, so that would've put me at around $50 tops. Not the cheapest but not overly priced seeing as I was saving some time. The customer service was amazing and provided me with all the info. Then, as all shops do, they began offering extra services. One was the cabin filter, which they quoted at around $42 dollars. I know for a fact I can get cheap ones at Amazon for $10 bucks, so I declined. So he came back with another $20 off so it'd sit around $22. I was really happy with all the service so I figured I'd give him the upsell and figured after going to AutoZone in traffic, it was worth it, especially since they were so doing so great. I'd figure I'd end up around $70-$75, and for the great service it was worth it. It did cross my mind, $40 off, that's hard to believe, well it was. As you can see by the picture, oil change was $52.99, service charge $3.99, extra oil $7.99, then cabin filter at $42.99. That was a grand total of 107.96. Then, 2 discounts, $20 off the oil but only $10 off the cabin filter. Then I checked out the model and it was the one I had seen in Amazon for $9.41, so it was going to be 3x as much. I figured it was a mistake, asked the guy and he tried to explain how it was correct and after I explained to him the math, he was still refusing, saying it was correct. I went to a Jiffy Lube 2 minutes away last year, not as good customer service (not bad but just not as good) but they honored their prices and I even got a bit more of a discount an inconvenience unrelated to the work on the car. Needless to say, it's highly unlikely that I will come back here. It was a matter of principle, not the money. But clearly, they cared more about the $10 dollars and not acknowledging that they messed up. Or even, that they thought they could do $40 off and they couldn't so it was only $30, but they didn't even admin that. I was prepared to come here whenever I was busy and even recommend it, as it wasn't a bad deal with the discount. If someone asked me, I'd say, take your chances but whatever you do, check your bill and ask for a breakdown of the prices before you pay. I'd rather go to Jiffy Lube, pay a few extra bucks knowing that I'm going to pay them.
