This place is worth the visit. 1st time: Our waitress was Janayla. It's the first time we have ever seen her, she is new. What a great addition to the team. She was so professional, respectful and you can really see she loves working with people, all smiles, very attentive and helpful. 2nd time: We are on our way to visit family, we asked if they wanted something to eat. We sent them a link to their website menu, and they texted their order. This time we ordered front in the front. Wilson one of the owners was taking our order. That man gets dressed with patience in his sleeves... lol. He was so good to us as we were trying to get everyone's orders right. 3rd time: Today August 22, 2026 - My husband asked me what do you want for lunch as we were driving back from Ukraine Parade in Parma. I said nothing, not hungry. He said what about Tropical Bay! He knew I would change my mind. This time Joelys took care of us. She's been there ever since we started going. Wonderful young lady and I know she's been rightfully going up the ranks at the restaurant and given more responsibility. She does a great job! Already knows what I order and all the intricacies. She's always happy to see the customers. Through every visit if the owners are there, especially Diana she makes it a point to come see us and takes a few minutes to say hello. They are salt to this earth wonderful, hardworking people. My favorite: Fried Pork with Tostones - I love all their food but I'm Latina so I make all these foods, I don't make the pork bites and tostones. These are melt in your mouth. My husbands: Tri Fongo with Shrimp, Cuban Rice, Rice and Bean The food I took my guest that they loved, Beef Pastelillos/Empanadas, Dominican Chicken, Butter Chicken, Puerto Rican Rice and Beans The place looks so cute and celebratory. Music playing, the Tropical Feeling, it's so nice. You will not be disappointed. I have severe food allergies and this is the only place I trust with my life.

For food, we shared two appetizers and honestly could have made a meal out of them. The Dominican Flag was incredible: crispy fried plantains, perfectly melty fried cheese, Dominican salami and smoky longaniza, all topped with pickled red onions that added the perfect zing. Every bite was packed with flavor and felt like true comfort food. We also loved the Loaded Yuca Balls; crispy golden yuca stuffed with cheese and topped with roasted pineapple, jalapeños, sour cream, and bacon. The combination of sweet, spicy, cheesy, and savory was amazing. Everything tasted fresh and homemade, the atmosphere was welcoming, and the service was great. We'll definitely be back to try more from the menu!

Both were fantastic although the pork had some excessively fatty pieces. The portions were very big and for $15 the sandwich was frankly large enough to split. Particularly since it was cut in half. I actually didn't finish it. I also prefer soup to go I'll eat that later. While I sat and ate my sandwich several door dash drivers were picking up orders. The people working there seemed to care about what I thought and how my food was. A rare trait these days in such a transactional society. A recommended spot in Parma for sure.

We stopped for dinner on our way to the zoo, and we were pleasantly surprised. The menu is simple and authentic. The plantains were cooked perfectly, a little char was the perfect balance to the sweetness, likely the best in the area. I also had the vegan empanadas, don't let vegan fool you, it was rich in flavor and the potato exterior was incredible. I had to force myself to stop eating so I could have leftovers. We asked her and the gentleman which two empanada flavors are their best selling and both of them said the steak and beef. So we got two of each. They were super helpful with the entree items too, even letting us sample some of them. The roasted pork was INCREDIBLE and I knew I had to have that for dinner. Finished it with yellow rice and peas with beans, and the yuka. And oh. My. GOD. The best meal I've had in months, I promise!! Portions were generous in terms of empanada size. I want to sing praises to Tropical Coco (Coconut Soda). It was the perfect hint of coconut and subtle sweetness. My friend and I decided to find and order this soda somewhere. SERVICE: More pleasant than it should be at a food trucks. Great hospitality. We were even called by our first names. Service was also quite quick. VALUE: The menu goes up to $16. Most items are priced at $12. $6 per piece is a bit pricey for empanadas compared to local restaurants but this was also event pricing.
