As a recruit graduating I needed all The necessary packages. I ordered more than a month before I needed everything and I was told at this store that the Reefer might not be ready but I can order it and if it was not ready I could get It somewhere else. So I bought the Reefer at another store and the time comes to pick up my packages and I'm told at JG that I will not be able to pick up my packages unless everything is paid for, including the $500 Reefer that I was told I could get from somewhere else. Now I'm stuck with an extra Reefer I was forced to pay for. They know what you need and they will scam you out of your money, especially if you're a recruit. read more

This place is a nightmare. Waited 9 weeks to receive my product only for it to be poor quality. What makes it worse is that the customer service is horrible. I even spoke to the owner who was rude and dismissive. She refused to accept any fault and did not even offer to fix the problems. There is simply no better uniform store, and I drive here from the far South side because of it. This is a family-run business that strives for complete customer satisfaction. This past week I needed a CPD topcoat for an honors funeral. Measurements were taken on Wednesday afternoon and it was then that the store realized they had no fabric to complete the order. JG's fabric order had been held up in Mexican customs for over three weeks. Arleen and her exceptional employees located some fabric in New York, had it overnighted to Chicago on Thursday and worked through the night to ensure four orders for topcoats were filled in time for the wake on Friday afternoon. When I arrived on Friday to pick up my coat, I was charged for the coat...and nothing more. No rush fees. No overnight shipping fees. Just the coat. At a time when a less reputable store could have taken advantage of a terrible situation, JG showed what they're made of. Honest work, honest values and quality products. I ordered my carrier in October online, here it is almost four months later and still no carrier, made sure to charge my card immediately though! The current JG carrier I have is disintegrating due to the cheap Velcro and other materials used, if I don't get something soon I'll have to order elsewhere. If you order online expect a very very slow process. I also have called and left messages multiple times and never get a call back from (Brett) their online sales guy. I purchase previous vest and was very happy They made my vest wrong tried to fix it but I'm not happy with the results. I was surprised that they didn't do it over and correct whatever missed measurements were made. This was my second best cover as I wanted a sharp crisp look and am unhappy with the results. They kept telling me that they were the best seamstress in the city and that's the reason why I went with them and spent the money. This place is not what it used to be... I came here needing to change the elastic bands on my vest (vest was made by Second Chance). I was told that they couldn't do it because the tailor/seamstress would "run into problems taking the vest apart". Highly unlikely because , I have gotten the straps replaced from a vest that I bought from them before with no issues. I know they're not gonna make much money from me...but what the hell....I have been coming to this place for 17 years!! Also, I actually asked a lady that worked there and she did tell me that they could do it for $25...a couple of weeks prior. But now, the guy with the long, curly, brown hairs gave me some B.S. that if something were to "go wrong"...there's gonna be liability issues! WTF, never heard that one before! I understand the difference between "we can't" and "we don't want to". I know it's all about the money, but is that how you treat a loyal customer?!... Well, a former loyal customer. I still have a decade or so left on this job...but you lost my business!! Also, I ordered another vest carrier here a few months ago and they put the cummerbund backwards and try to blame it on me...but I figured their mistake was an honest mistake as long as they corrected it. The problem was corrected. I was so turned off today that I didn't even bother shopping there for some new uniform sets and accessories. No point in arguing, I just went down the street and they took my vest and repaired it ...and they now gained a new customer. read more

This place is a hit or miss. I could go in one day and have the workers here super attentive and helpful and then other days you can stand right at the front waiting to be helped for 10 mins. Before anyone even says one word to you, no hi someone will be with you or anything almost like you are totally invisible. This sometimes makes me really hate spending money at this place but I believe in giving places chances so Ill see how it goes in future visits. Ordered two outer vest covers for our K9 officer. Calls made to check the status of the order were not returned and when contact with the store was made, person was very rude. Had the vest for not even 6 months and seams have come undone and the back has ripped. Very poor quality for the price and will not hold up for everyday wear and tear. Wish I can give this place a zero start! I was fooled at the beginning to think they have an ok customer service but, SURPRISE!!! They sold me a wrong size of BDU telling me that that's the way it fits and that there's no smaller size and guess what?! They didn't have it at the time and, they wanted to get rid of what they have. I still remember asking twice how come it's that big and the arms are too long for me but the sales man insist that that's the way it comes. Good thing about this place is that it is close to home if you are a northsider. Bad THINGS are: the people are rude to you when you are there. Its like they are doing you a huge favor by being there to help you. TERRIBLE customer service. If you are to purchase a Molle Vest cover make sure you do not wash it because it will fall apart. I had to bring mine back into the store to get re-done multiple times. I think the quality of this store has gone way down. In the past they did in fact make the best covers . That is not the case at all now. I will have no problem going somewhere else from now on to purchase my LE gear even if I have to drive some ways away to do it. read more
