I've been going to JG Auto for 3 years and when it was under the management of Jorge/George I wrote that previous review. Jorge was truly amazing. However, BEWARE customers the ownership has changed and since then my experiences with them has been horrendous (I'm talking...be prepared to file civil suit or small claims). In fact, if anyone else has had a similar issue please contact me for a larger claim. I will write an honest and balanced review below. First, in doing a routine oil change I was surprised they still honored the price the previous owner had and even did a military discount. However, in that oil change they pressured me for other items. Specifically, they claimed I needed to do a full tune up which would cost $270. I declined but was pressured. When asked what involved a full auto tune up they would not list it on my invoice. Second, On November 21st I came back for the recommended auto tune up because I was doing a road trip to another state. In this visit to JG Auto, they up sold me again claiming I needed much more than a full auto tune up. To best prepare for the road trip I acquiesced, and paid for everything from a new radiator to water pump. During this visit there was barely any communication of when my car was done. In fact, they had to keep it overnight. Knowing I had to leave for my road trip within hours on November 22nd I finally showed up unexpectedly to the shop to get my car. I want to be clear sometimes he (Hector) did answer his phone and his texts but always gave comments like "Oh, it's almost done. I'll call you back in an hour" but never calls back. Third, 3 days later on November 24th, 2019 in a different state radiator fluid was all drained out underneath the car and thus I had to replace the radiator AGAIN. Because of this I had to stay overnight in that state to wait for the car to be fixed. Worse yet, my husband had to fly back to CA for work which added hotel and flight to our costs. We returned to CA with the broken radiator in tow and delivered it to Hector on November 30th alongside all the receipts of cost incurred because of the broken radiator. He said he would handle it and that I should give him 6 weeks. Fourth, because it was the holidays we have him more than six weeks. However, we did email and call to get updated, which he never returned any of it. By January 24, 2020 (well over 6 weeks) I called to figure out what was going on. Hector finally answered his phone. He acted surprised that his "Boss" never contacted me and then proceeded to tell me that he would call back in an hour. Heard that before. Of course today is January 30th, 2020 and he never did. Yesterday I had to email a ultimatum and will be legally pursuing this if not addressed by February 10, 2020. Don't get me wrong. They seemed like nice people. In fact, I trusted one of the mechanics who drove me home because he divulged he was a man of faith. However, DO NOT GO HERE. It's been a nightmare. As of today, no one from that business picks up their phone nor do they respond to emails. In fact, as I call the number on this yelp they do not even have a VM anymore. I've been going here for years and never had a problem. My car was acting up two weeks before Thanksgiving and I dropped it off here not knowing they changed ownership. They "fixed" the issue for $700, and not even a block after driving it off the lot, it acted up the same way. I gave it back to them and they supposedly fixed it again and I was told the car would drive funny for 80 miles, but should be good after that. After driving it for 125 miles, the car still acted up the same way, but not as often. I again took it back and they had to fix a broken lever for $200. I was told the car was ready, so I go to pick it up and they ended up telling me in person (instead of over the phone) that there was a different issue with the car and asked if I wanted to get that fixed and it should only be a few hours. I agreed to it, but in the end it wasn't ready until a week later. I finally get my car back 5 days before Christmas and there was a major leak I noticed a few hours after I got it back. I ended up taking it to the Honda dealership and paid $300 to fix it because I didn't want to deal with them anymore. Waste of time, waste of money. I won't be coming back. read more

They misdiagnosed my car, then added extra charges because they "mixed my car up". I was forced to spend $300 on a rental, for them to call me days later and call it a mistake. No refund and a lack of professionalism when answering questions on how they "mistook my car for another" when i have a license plate on it! They then threatened to tow my car stating it had been in the lot "too long" even though i had the money ORIGINALLY to pay for damages! My car over heated and they said I needed a new thermostat housing assembly and they charged me $840. I couldn't drive it to get a second opinion so I said yes. This price is high for that work but again I couldn't drive it and obviously I needed my car. My AC wasn't working so I asked them to look at it. Got a quote of $1200 because they said the compressor was bad and they recommended that I also replace the condenser. I wanted a second opinion so I took it to my regular mechanic who had been on vacation. He checked it out and told me everything was fine and it just needed a service. The service was $180. They wanted to change out the whole system for no reason besides making money off of me. This is why people don't trust and hate mechanics. They are over priced and lied to me about what the car needed. Never going back and I will never recommend this place. read more

Save yourself the headache (and the money) we brought my husbands car here for a sensor fix and got the car back to discover there were parts missing. I called and we decided to give them a chance to fix their wrongs and turns out the car had another problem that was gonna cost us $1600! Awesome. We were told the car would be fixed in a couple days. Ok. Well a week and a half later, lots of phone calls (from me to them), and finally getting fed up they call us at 5:23 PM saying our car is ready for pick up. After the guy said he would call me back in 10 minutes at 4:40 PM. We were already on our way though so we barely made it before they closed. Dishonest, crooks, not knowledgeable, no communication. Do I have your attention yet? I hope so. Avoid this shop at all costs! I brought in a Prius for what was thought to be a problem with the left side hub or bearing. I left the car and waited for a call for diagnosis. That took a few hours. After receiving the call I was told I needed to change left side bearing. I requested a quote and was told that I would receive another call back with pricing. A few more hours go by. I call in to get info before the shop closed. No answer but I did get a call back a few minutes after and they tell me they are working on it... Wait a second, I didn't authorize any work to be done but youre working on it before giving me a quote? I need the car so I just decided to deal with it. I come to pick up the car, make the payment and be on my way. After driving it for 2 maybe 3 miles, the problem seems even worse than when I brought it in. I call and they tell me that they test drove it, it should be fine. No, the problem is still present. I bring it back in and leave it for a few hours awaiting another call. They call me back a few hours later telling me it may be the bearing on the transmission left side and that I needed a new shock which they again replaced without any authorization..... Again. I come and get the car a second time and drive it a few miles. Problem is still there. At this point I have given up on hope for this shop despite all their good reviews. I decided to just take it to the dealership. What does the dealership tell me? The problem was on the right side, not left side as diagnosed by Jorge and company. I brought this to their attention and they had promised a refund on services. They dodged all calls and no call back. CROOKS!!!! I will be reporting them to the BBB. Jorge and his team were absolutely excellent. You don't see mechanics like him very often. I had to get all 3 engine mounts on my vehicle repaired and Jorge's quote was the best. I had never met Jorge but saw the good reviews on here and decided to give it a try. Jorge recommended using OEM mounts but he gave me the quote for both the aftermarket and OEM prices. I'm cheap so I went with the aftermarket parts. Jorge installed them and the parts with labor was an extremely fair price. Jorge offered to shuttle me to wherever I needed during the wait. After the repair I realized that the aftermarket mounts didn't fix the problem. I reached out to Jorge and explained to him the issue. Jorge said no problem, he would fix the issue. I ended up getting the OEM mounts. Jorge installed the OEM parts and only charged me the difference in parts, didn't charge a dime for the 5 hours of labor it took to install the new mounts. The car now drives like new. I can't begin to say how grateful I am for mechanics like Jorge. If I were anywhere else they may have re-charged for labor and charged full price for the OEM mounts. I originally went to Green Smog Check to get my registration completed. It happened to be a rainy day so I noticed my windshield wipers needed to be replaced. I asked the young man at the smog check if he could do that for me and he referred me next door to JG Auto. I was helped by Jorge and he did a terrific job getting my Sequoia up to par! He did an oil change, new windshield wipers, rotated my tires, topped off all the fluids and all for a very low cost! It should've easily been double the price! So....My A/C went out in my car. I took it to the dealer to get it looked at. Was hoping it was still under warranty because it's basically still a new car, only 3 1/2 years old, 2016 Hyundai. After paying them $132 for a diagnostic because they told me that's the only way to find out what's wrong with the system to see what's covered in the warranty, to find out that the compressor is bad and that is not covered in the warranty. It would cost me $1345 + tax to get it completed...WTF!!! I asked the dealer what happened to the 10 years 100,000 miles bumper to bumper warranty that Hyundai claimed to have? He told me that's only for the powertrain. Again...WTF!!! It was supposed to be bumper to bumper. This is soooo false advertising on Hyundai's part. Going to call Hyundai Corporate to see what's up with that. I then remembered this shop, JG Auto Service, in Norco. It was referred to me by the guys at Green Smog Check, another great shop to bring your patronage to. They are right next door to JG Auto. So, I went to JG Auto and was greeted by a great staff. I explained what happened at the dealer and what they say was wrong with the A/C to Manny. Manny explained in detail what he will be looking at and gave me a quote. I asked do I have to pay for the diagnostic again? He said no, it's all good. The quote Manny gave me was a little more than 1/3 of what the dealer was going to charge and still lower than other shops I had called around prior. While I was waiting for my A/C to be repaired, listening to the way Manny and the staff treats the clients, I was really impressed. Even my wife said, WOW!, she'd never heard a shop that honest and she trusts them which she never have for any shop before, especially the way they treat their female customers. They weren't trying to rip off the female clients. They were actually helping them. I would recommend JG Auto Service over and over. If I can give 10 stars, I would. I found an honest mechanic. These guys are amazing. I was told by another shop I needed a new brake master cylinder after they replaced my brake pads. I also had an oil leak since forever, so I thought I should get them both done. I called for some quotes, and JG was about 1/3 lower than the next lowest quote. They said they couldn't quote me on the oil leak until they saw the source. I brought it in, and gave them the O.K. to replace the cylinder and inspect the leak. Here's the impressive thing: Manny from JG called me later that day, and told me the lube n tune where I got my pads replaced was mistaken. He said my master cylinder was fine. He and JG Auto had the integrity to turn down work that did not need to be done. He gave me a very reasonable quote on the oil leak, and the car was ready same day. Leak is gone, brakes continue to work fine. I am very impressed, and will use them again. Thank you. read more
