Rose Donaldson is the best jewelry consultant to work with at Brilliant Earth on Newbury Street!…read moreShe is personable, kind, genuine, and excellent at sales. She helped me find the perfect earrings, and I ended up with two pairs instead of the one pair I was originally looking at because she was so helpful and understood my ultimate vision! I am very pleased with my purchases and would only want to work with her again! I love Brilliant Earth's products and highly recommend. Great value!

Here's what we experienced: first, extremely poor communication (generic "item received" emails with either incorrect or zero meaningful information about the sizes requested and pick-up vs shipping information) - when we called and emailed to follow up, we were told to just trust the process; second, despite the ring being in perfect condition when we dropped it off, we got a call saying it was damaged and that the resizing and repairing it would cost over $600. When we picked it up, the stone was indeed much looser than it was when we dropped it off, so it was damaged either in transport or by their "repair" team. At the end of the day and this long, stressful process, we took the ring to a local family jeweler instead who resized the ring for $60 and fixed the damage for free. Shocking right? If you look through other reviews other customers have also had their rings damaged during the "free" resizing process so I wonder if it's a way to squeeze money out of customers. We purchased our Brilliant Earth ring before they went public in 2021 and still love the product but since then, their poor IPO performance likely drove down customer service and I would honestly be product quality now given this experience - be careful!

After doing some research and shopping around, I met David, Fadi, and the family team at Homsy. They took the time to listen, invite us into their store to learn about the diamond and ring-buying process, and never batted an eye at any question we had - no matter how simple. There was never any pressure, and we got the feeling that they had our best interest in mind at all times, and wanted us to be happy with any purchase. Translation: they treat you like you are part of their family. The prices were reasonable, work was done well and in a timely fashion. They were even able to take a ring design we were interested in replicating and making a custom setting with their CAD design tools. What impressed me most about Homsy was what great communicators they were. I knew that when I called, they'd immediately answer and know what was happening. Or that when I emailed, I'd get a response right away. You don't get this type of communication at most places - including similar competitors in the city - and this is what really impressed me the most. Homsy Jewelers now has 2 more lifetime customers. Excited to return here for wedding bands and future jewelry.

No issue with the earrings, but the bracelet I bought just kept breaking. I had asked when I was considering buying it, whether I could wear it every day and sleep in it. I was given a confident 'yes'. But then when the bracelet broke and I brought it in to be fixed, suddenly it was 'not an every day bracelet'. The only reason this isn't a 1-star review is the earrings and the fact that they (tried to, as it broke multiple more times) fixed my bracelet free of charge. I will not be purchasing any other jewelry here, and I am not selling my bracelet back to Homsy. I will be taking my business elsewhere.

I understand that it was a busy Saturday, but this location was downright unhelpful. I already knew…read morewhat I wanted to get from a prior trip to the Seaport Mejuri location and just needed to come in to check sizing. I looked up my items online, which was difficult given that (with no labels on any of the jewelry) I didn't know what to search on their website. So I was ready to purchase items, just needed to check sizes (which is what an in-person jewelry showroom is for). We waited in line due to store occupancy limits (understandable, it's a small location) and once we got in were immediately accosted by an associate who asked if we were finding everything ok. She disappeared once I said that I knew what I wanted and needed help with sizing. When I had to go ask someone from the back desk area for help, they rolled their eyes and scoffed at me for...asking them to do their job and help me understand the (unlabeled) sizing for the bracelet. If you're going to have no labels on your display for what the sample sizes are (20/22 inches for a chain necklace, a very slight difference, plus no idea which sample bracelet was for the M/L/XL sizes) at least have helpful staff! Then, when checkout time came I was told that the price was going to be more than I had originally budgeted for since we had picked out the necklace with a slightly larger diameter. I asked for clarification and the girl helping me gave the most convoluted explanation about the bracelet already being upsized. She expected me to already be knowledgeable about the different finishes too. I had to advocate for my 10% signup discount to be applied. And when we got home, one of the boxes was missing the storage pouch and polishing cloth. Overall a really scummy experience all around that I felt like I was being tricked and upsold with unclear explanations even when I knew what I was purchasing. I'm used to buying fine jewelry and having nice laid out options sheets that this business model was clearly lacking. Or even transparent pricing! I'm betting that they treat their staff poorly because they are so unenthusiastic to even help out people who know what they want! Such an unnecessarily stressful experience. The gals next door at Glossier are so much nicer and more helpful, and their price point for makeup is far less than the consideration for buying what is ostensibly marketed as fine jewelry. Most things are extremely marked up and of variable quality as compared to standard jewelers. I only came because I liked one particular design and had felt it before as solid. TL;DR Even if you already know what you want, don't go to the Mejuri on Newbury, maybe the one in Seaport instead. Very unhelpful layout and staff.
