I had recently purchased a new home and had only lived in it for 30 days before their plumber's negligence caused my basement to flood. I had paid $7,000 for a sewer line replacement, and despite taking my full payment, the plumber failed to complete the job. He had left my home exposed from the outside, allowing water to pour in during a storm three weeks later. This was no accident -- it was pure negligence. When he finally returned after the flooding, he casually admitted that he had been supposed to come back three weeks earlier to lay cement over the area he worked on but failed to do so. That level of carelessness was completely unacceptable. Because of his negligence, I had to endure devastating damage. My finished basement had to be gutted -- all the drywall was ripped out, mold remediation had to take place, my engineered hardwood floors were destroyed, and I had been dealing with contractors in and out of my house. Two and a half months later, the situation was still ongoing. I still had no floors. My drywall was still missing. My home remained a disaster and unusable, and I hadn't been able to enjoy it since the nightmare began. To make matters worse, I had to miss several days of work to manage the non-ending contractors, all while enduring the overwhelming stress of the constant repairs. On top of that, a strong odor lingered in my house, making it even more difficult to live in. I was forced to stay in a hotel and with family for a while. I am a mother of a two-year-old, and the strain this placed on my family was immeasurable. What was even more appalling was the complete lack of accountability from K Harris Plumbing. Despite everything I went through, I never heard again from Kenny the plumber again after he returned after the flood to put cement on the neglected area. He put me in contact with his insurance company and that was it. This happened in February 2025. Since then there was no follow-up, no check-in to see how I was managing, and absolutely no effort to make things easier for me. Even after I reached out to the company/ Kenny the Plumber via email to explain the severity of the damage they caused and how it turned my life upside down. I was ignored. Not even a single apology or a partial refund. I deeply regret my decision to hire this company. It was devastating to invest in a new home only to have it ruined by the very people I trusted to do their job. I urged others to learn from my experience with this K Harris Plumbing and take caution.

That means that, if Jack messes something up, then he's liable and likely doesn't have insurance for it. Don't do it. (Note that, as far as I can tell, he is licensed for HVAC work. I telephoned one of the large mechanical heating and air companies who sent one of their techs out to figure out the problem. After a few minutes, their tech promptly informed me that the heater could NOT be fixed - it needed to be replaced. ..that it was "too old to even get parts for," he said, and that it was "beyond repair." That it would be $2500. to replace the furnace....BUT, that he didn't recommend just doing that part of it because the whole heating and air system in my house was on the verge of failing also and I should upgrade it all at the same time. For which he quoted $8600. Afterwards, I telephoned another similar company, and went through basically the same experience. I was heartsick about it because I did not have that amount of money to fix it. I then decided to try to find a smaller company to look at the problem. Because, without a lot of company overhead costs, I reasoned, maybe I could get a lesser estimate. I found out about RJ at Sweetwater Plumbing Heating & AC Co. from a neighbor of mine ...told me that this company is basically a one man shop and the Owner does all his own work. He came right out and began looking at my old furnace. I told him I needed it fixed, that I could not afford to replace it. He was really funny when he was looking at the furnace. He said that he had "learned how to work on these old furnaces from my old man when our company was in Sandy Springs...when I used to work with him when I was a kid....These new guys in these big companies have no clue how to fix these old things....they only know how to install a whole new system...and, besides, that is what their bosses push them to do...to upsell whole units...and meet their quotas for selling." YIKES, I thought. Then, within about 10 minutes, he said: "Your furnace's blower motor is shot....you need a new one." He told me how much it would cost for labor and materials. He then brought down this part from the attic, went onto the porch and he and his assistant started taking apart what he told me was the outer shell of the blower unit assembly to get to the blower motor. He said he would run up to the parts store and get the part needed. Within 45 minutes he was back, and promptly put the blower assembly back together and then re-installed it in the furnace. He also showed me that one of the electrical connections leading to the unit needed to be re-wired and he fixed that too. He then said Turn it on. And, OMG...the furnace turned and began to work. It continued to work thru-out the rest of the cold days and nights. The whole bill came to $375.00. I was amazed. Very happy. I would highly recommend this small company. From what I understand, he also does a great deal of plumbing and air conditioning work.
