This was my first time ever…read morehaving a car's tint removed and re-tinted, and I started vetting vendors by opening a Project in Yelp. After a few qualifying chat conversations, MCAR ended up being my chosen vendor, and by the following Friday I was dropping off my Subaru BRZ on my lunch break. Danilo and his team checked me in, reviewed the scope of work with me, and had my car in their garage within 20 minutes. A few hours later it was ready, and I was really impressed by the workmanship. One thing worth noting: if your car has electrical sensors in the seats for airbag or seatbelt safety features, it's worth asking ahead of time how the shop handles that. Window tinting uses a lot of soap and water, and it's possible for your seats to get a little wet in the process. On my drive home, my BRZ's passenger seat must have picked up some moisture, because it started throwing a seatbelt warning alarm. I brought it back and Danilo and his team worked to triage the issue. To be safe, and to avoid running any more electrical current through it while it was still damp, he suggested buckling the seatbelt to stop the alarm and letting the seat fully dry before reassessing, with instructions to bring it back in if the sound returned. They handled the troubleshooting really well, and it just reinforced how much they care about getting things right for their customers. I'm looking forward to bringing my other car in for them to work on as well. Thank you again Danilo and team.

First off, this review is over 10 years late. Over the past decade plus, I've brought 8 of our…read morecars (Toyota, BMW, Honda (3), VW, Subaru, Acura) for window tinting at Grizzly. The workmanship is top-shelf as Danny knows his stuff and is an artisan of his craft, which requires lots of attention to detail. Between Danny and Gena, they run a beautiful shop in SSF with competitive prices on Llumar tint. I recently had to get some warranty work done on my ID.4 as the back window started "rippling" and distorting after only a couple of years, making rearview mirror images harder to see. Gena was able to get the work approved under warranty (it was an adhesive defect), made an appointment and brought the car in and the work was done in about an hour -- I can see clearly out the back window again. I will continue to go to Grizzly Tint with all my future vehicle acquisitions in the future....the best window tinting service in the Bay!

Had LLumar ceramic film installed on all of my brand-new car's windows in June. I let the film cure for a couple of weeks. Time passes, and on my back left window, I noticed a tiny bubble around what appeared to be lint trapped between the glass and the film. Thinking this would be covered under warranty as an installation flaw, I brought it back to Grizzly. The installer removed the film and located the "defect." It wasn't lint, but rather a deep scratch. The installer then claimed the scratch was already there when I brought the car in, said he "forgot" to tell me about it after the initial install, and claimed it must have come like that from the factory. He told me to take the car back to the dealership to get the glass replaced under warranty--and added that if I didn't get it replaced, / would have to pay them labor costs to reinstall the tint on that window. I brought the car back to the dealership. The master technician inspected it and confirmed the deep scratch was caused by a third party using a razor blade. The installer scratched my brand-new window during prep, didn't own up to his mistake, purposefully hid it from me, and then tried to charge me extra labor when I brought it to his attention. Unbelievable dishonesty. I will never step foot in this shop again.

I had all five windows tinted, plus heat-rejection film installed on the windshield. The quality of the work is excellent -- everything looks clean and professionally done, and the heat rejection makes a noticeable difference. Exceptional service, very reasonable pricing, and a high level of professionalism from start to finish. It's great to have a shop you can trust enough to bring a second car back to. Highly recommend Auto Image for anyone looking for quality window tinting and great service in the Bay Area. I'll definitely be coming back for any future cars.

I had to book 2 weeks in advance due to limited time slot availability, so plan ahead accordingly. Although Jeff and I agreed on a set time, I was able to drop the car off a little earlier due to a last minute errand. I came to tint my 2023 Model Y, and Jeff made sure what I chose was the best fit for what I was looking for. I wanted my tints to match in color especially when the back windows are already darkened, and Jeff was able to confirm that with a tool. I ended up going with 20% fronts and 50% rears, and the color match is pretty close to what I was looking for. My car was ready in 3 hours, and the entire process was quick and smooth. There are things to do a short drive as well if you're not from the area. He even puts tape to remind you to not open windows for at least 2-3 days! I made sure to wait a week before reviewing, and the tints turned out really good after the "cooldown" period. I have no complaints, but just wished they would tint the front windshield haha. Will definitely be coming back and recommending friends/family!

He pointed out that my…read moreroof was already starting to break down: patchy, worn, almost like these "salt-burn" marks across the paint of the roof. I'll be honest, I'm still learning about paint health but I know enough to recognize when something needs attention. I love my car, it's reliable, it supports everything I need to do in my life--and since I fully own it, I wanted to do something meaningful for it for my birthday. They walked me through two options: vinyl vs. PPF. And the way they explained PPF just made sense. It wasn't just about aesthetics, it was about peace of mind. Protection from all the elements this car goes through daily. Longevity. Something that holds integrity over time, not just a quick fix. That mattered to me. The owner was incredibly informative. You can tell there's intention behind everything here: not just the service, but the design, the experience, the way they think. As a designer, I pick up on that immediately. It doesn't feel random...it feels considered. And the front desk, she was amazing! I wish I remembered her name. But you know when someone's vibe is just genuine? Not performative, not transactional--just kind, attentive, and actually caring about helping you? That was her. It makes a difference. What really surprised me was the turnaround. Same day. I wasn't expecting that at all! They finished the roof in a black gloss PPF, and it completely transformed the car. It looks like a panoramic roof now--clean, elevated, honestly more expensive. It was such a strong recommendation, and I'm really glad I trusted it. We also talked about window tinting, and after this experience, I'm already planning to come back. The level of professionalism, the clarity, the care--it's consistent across everything they do. When you get PPF you get a followup appointment to ensure everything is curing properly. You can tell they work on luxury vehicles, there's a precision to their standards. But what stood out to me is that they bring that same level of care to anyone who walks in. No matter your vehicle, they are dedicated to making it feel top notch. That matters. I highly recommend them. Truly. Thank you Graphix Lab! Attaching photos of how shiny black gloss PPF looks.
