Crab Spinach Mushroom Frittata with a side of home fries
Lauren G.

Arrived 10 minutes before they opened on Saturday, while reading the menu on their porch, staff member welcomed us in early and got us comfortable with a cup of coffee while they finished opening up for the day. The food was absolutely excellent!!! I got the frittata special - crab spinach and mushroom, with a side of home fires. Absolutely recommend! Super cute cafe!

Egg & Cheese with bacon and sausage Sandwich on rye

There are just so many things to like about this place. It's in an area that is untouched by the encroachment of the "newness movement" engulfing Wilmington. The place itself is in a small house and they've painted the interior and exterior i bright, fun colors. The staff are always pleasant and smiling. I just always feel at ease as soon as I walk in. To top it off, the food is sensational!!! Their Benedict's are the best in the area! Go eat there! You'll enjoy it. Oh! And they have a free little library out front! Books and breakfast! Yes, please.

A pace to come for breakfast. It is a Quant small restaurant in a neighborhood. I ordered the quiche. I was looking for a nice slice of quiche instead what I got was something that looked like a slice of pizza. It was very thin. I liked at the table across from me, and their poached eggs looked terrific. They only have regular coffee in small cups. They have free refills. They had some other interesting breakfast choices. I would come back to try them.

Le Monsieur with tomato Soup

Stopped by during a time period after lunch. I was drawn in by the quaint coziness. Was not surprised by the simple menu and ended up with tomato soup and Le Monsieur. It satisfied my hunger, nothing more. The waiter was pleasant and the decor was welcoming. The food arrived fast but was a bit dissatisfied that the soup was lukewarm.

Mimosas please? Yes, thank you. Our waiter recommended a peach infused mimosa and we were not disappointed, it was the right amount of sweet. I had the Strata which was a breakfast casserole and some bacon on the side. My boyfriend had the french toast casserole with bluberries. He had an egg and sausage patties on the side also. The bread was super moist, it was delicious with the syrup and you can't beat fresh berries over anything. There was only about four berries though, a couple more would have made it just perfect. The sausages weren't my personal favorite (little too greasy for me) he enjoyed them! The service was great, really tasty food and all around wonderful time.

Quiche of the day

I've been meaning to make it to Jester's for a while and finally went with a few friends this weekend. We were seated quickly and loved the atmosphere (it's an old house with tables scattered throughout). Everything we ordered was fantastic. I believe the strata was the collective winner, but my husband enjoyed his quiche and my friends liked la madame (though one recommended getting le monsieur instead as he didn't think the egg added anything). Service was a little off - ordered OJ and received peach juice, given a check to sign with no pens, etc. However this will not deter us from returning. Excellent reasonably priced breakfast option.

BLAT w/ side salad

We happened upon Jester's Cafe looking for brunch in the down town area to meet family and friends at. We had no idea what we were walking into but had absolutely no regrets. We had a table of 8 that included 2 small kids, they took a moment to put tables together and sat us comfortably. The restaurant was a house and it was remodeled but they still left the old house charm. I was pretty obsessed with the inside. I ordered the B.L.A.T. with a side salad and ate every bite. The BLAT had a special sauce that made it perfect. My fiancé had the country Benedict and house fries, he also loved it! My sister had the French toast casserole and thought it was perfect. Overall everyone had a great meal and we all would return! I recommend!

The Half is in a very old building repurposed into this amazing little sandwich shop. It's always great to see business leaders doing this. There's street parking and paid parking nearby. Be careful where you park as there are other businesses in the area with small signs posted (funeral home next door). Walking in you'll see the main counter and register with tables and bar area on both sides as you approach the register. We were greeted as we picked up the menus. After a few minutes we ordered our sandwiches and requested cups for water. They have a self serve water machine toward the back of the restaurant before you reach the restroom. Once you order they provide you with a small number card for your table. After a short wait our chips and sandwiches were brought to us. The sandwiches are wrapped in brown paper which we thought was great. The sandwiches are fairly big with a lot of ingredients. I ordered The Tucker. Turkey with a variety of vegetables. The grilled bread was tasty and accented the turkey, lettuce, and various other vegetables with a nice red sauce. While enjoying our meal there was a steady flow of customers for dine in and to go. For good reason. The food was great and the restaurant itself was nice and comfortable. Wife and son definitely enjoyed their sandwiches as well. Highly recommend trying The Half. We will definitely return to enjoy another incredible sandwich here.

The soup was excellent--warm, hearty and packed with greens, pasta and meatballs. Exactly the kind of comfort-food bowl you want when it's gray and raining outside. I paired it with a sandwich, which was a great complement to the soup, but I have to give some love to the homemade chips too. Crispy, well seasoned and much better than throwing a bag of chips on the side and calling it a day. Overall, this was one of those simple meals that just works: good sandwich, great soup, homemade chips and perfect timing with the Wilmington weather. Sometimes you don't need fancy. You just need the right food on the right day. Kitchen Sink delivered.

This place is super cute and cozy, you order at the register and they bring you your food. We went on a weekend and there was ample seating. The food is FRESH! Everything tasted so yummy. They have a nice variety of sandwiches - cold, warm, spicy. I personally had the BAD chicken biscuits which was the best of all worlds. Spicy hot chicken and fresh flaky biscuits. Their fries are also great. Regular alone are delicious but the Parmesan fries take them up a level. I think chips are the standard side but you can do a premium side for an upcharge. Staff was very friendly and overall this is a very solid place. They also have specials so be sure to check those out too!
