Before coming here, I wore braces for 4-5 years and had permanent retainers. When one of them broke, a tooth started to shift, which is what led me to this office for Clear Smile (the invisa liners) Unfortunately, the entire process has been frustrating, and a waste of time and money. I paid $2.5-3k for "unlimited trays" to correct this one tooth. After using countless trays over years, the tooth barely moved. The communication at this office is incredibly poor. Most of the orthodontic assistants didn't speak English, and my Spanish isn't strong enough to bridge the gap. Every appointment, they'd check my teeth, hand me a new set of trays, and send me on my way. No updates, no explanations. Just silence. After completing all my trays, they asked "Are you happy with the results?" No.. the tooth that brought me here in the first place was still crooked. About three YEARS into treatment, they decided to put a bracket on the tooth, which also did nothing. After seeing that the original issue still wasn't resolved, they agreed to take new impressions to create a new batch of trays. Then... nothing. Months passed. I called, only to be told that if I wanted to continue, I'd have to pay again. So to recap... I paid $3,000 to fix one tooth. It's still crooked. And now they want me to pay more? Absolutely not. I absolutely detest going to the dentist, despite having dental insurance it took me four years to go for a cleaning. Don't worry ya girl had no cavities! Super clean and gorgeous office. Staff was super friendly. The woman that cleaned my teeth was attentive and kind. Parking is very limited in front of the office... I think there is only three parking spots. So I've been coming to this practice since 2015 (every visit prior to their move to the new location was exceptional). Since the move though (and not considering Covid years in this) I have repeatedly booked cleanings (months in advance) confirmed them via phone a few days before just to receive a text message less than 12 hours before coincidently past their operating hours that my appointment was cancelled due to a hygienist emergency. I've been consistently going to this office for the past four years, including a couple of times recently amid COVID. Their current process involves calling when you arrive and waiting in your car until they call you again when the room is ready. Everyone wears masks inside and there is hand sanitizer at the ready. Over the past year, they moved into a new office that is close to their old one. It's bigger and a standalone building, rather than part of an office building where you have to ride the elevator. It feels nicer but there's not a ton of parking (three spots total), so sometimes I have to opt for a metered spot along Coral Way instead. I'm not sure when the switch happened, but I've been seeing Dr. Echeverri and not Dr. Eagan for my most recent visits. Overall, I've had good experiences with him. He takes his time to do the examination and listen to anything that's bothering. He's very friendly, too! My only complaints would be that for recent appointments, I haven't gotten any sort of confirmation via email or phone. Also, wait times can sometimes be long which isn't the best when you're stuck in the car and worried they forgot about you. read more

As new patients I called the office and verified they took our insurance. This was confirmed. Appointments were booked at least two months out. I confirmed the appts. All was fine, so I thought. The day before our appts which were confirmed. They even called that morning to tell me the dentist wouldn't be in, but we could still come. Hi Rebecca, I am so sorry. we were checking your dental insurance and we do not take that insurance so we will need to cancel this appointment. Thank you 305-856-1178, STOP=EndMsgs Then this after I told them this was unprofessional: yes we did take this dental insurance we currently stopped taking it Feb 1 I am so sorry The point is they clearly don't know how to run an office or value anyone's time. If they stoped taking our insurance on 2/1 then why wouldn't they call to let me know. Or even better let us know the self pay rate. Instead I get a text the day before. Incompetence and unprofessional practice and staff. Beware. I'd rather pay for dental services than deal with this. I love how someone from the office replied to this review stating they told me when in fact they didn't tell me on 2/1. Instead they waited until the day before the appt at the end of February and cancelled via text. The whole time knowing as of 2/1 they didn't take my insurance. They texted me at 5pm, the day before my appointment, on 3 separate occasions to cancel. Had I done that to them, I'd be charged a fee. I've been going for several years, actually never met Dr. Egan, and am not even sure who I did see. They seem to shuffle through dentists. The office seems to thrive simply by convenience of location. Other than that, they offer really poor customer service and office policies. Today I called them at 9am to double check my appointment time- and they said nothing to me about cancelling until 5pm, via "friendly" text. I have to take time off work, in advance, to make these appointments. They need a reminder that they're in the human business. In response to your reply: Taking accountability and apologizing, would have been a better approach. I have not changed numbers, address, or email. I have no record of any attempts to reach me to let me know, prior to 5pm the day prior. It wasn't even mentioned when I CALLED THE OFFICE to confirm the time. Frankly, writing a reply outing my insurance status is neither appropriate nor respectful business practice, and I believe, also illegal. Had you really wanted to "help me" then you should have notified me weeks prior to the appointment, better yet, send a letter in the summer before open enrollment. Worst customer service ever. I've been going for them since 2018 and each time they always cancel my appointments and to reschedule they don't have availability till months away. Two weeks in a row they cancel my appointment and I took time off of work both times. They've had the same excuse that they are understaff or that they hygienist happened to go on vacation. This bad experience was wayyy before COVID. I hired Dr Eagan to redo a bridge of mine, which she recommended a new crown. I paid $2200 cash. Her office then put in a temporary, which looked great. When they put in the permanent it was absolutely awful. It was the wrong color and wrong size. Essentially everything was wrong. So, she had them pry it out, which was incredibly traumatizing. I mean, this permanent tooth is supposed to stay in your mouth forever. But, as I said she had them pry it out, replace with another temporary and then I had to go back for the permanent. I needed to find a dentist in Miami so I looked on Yelp and found that Dr. Eagan had great reviews and her office is near Brickell. I called to make an appointment and they got me scheduled on the same week for a cleaning and check-up. The office is located on coral way and it has its own private parking space so that was easy. The staff is friendly and the hygienist was amazing. She took her time to explain details to me and she was gentle and caring at all times. Dr. Eagan was also friendly and very accommodating. She explained everything that they were going to do on this visit and made me feel comfortable. The office is clean and the equipment seem to be up to date. I've been going to this office for several years with no problems up until now. I came in for a cleaning several months ago and was notified I had several cavities and was advised to get an implant I'd been delaying due to economic reasons with COVID. I was appointed to Dr. Echeverri to whom I had a horrific experience. The few cavities in the beginning were fine, but once we got to where the implant was going to go in and the crown I was told had to be put on due to so much decay in the back tooth, that's when things went south. For the implant, the Doctor never checked to ensure the implant was functioning properly prior to my visit and it was incorrect 2-3 times. During that time since the technicians kept taking out the metal piece that was holding my gum tissue apart, they piece kept falling out and it was extremely painful putting it back in. Right before putting in the corrected implant, one of the technicians had to screw it back in which was extremely painful since they are not permitted to apply novocaine and there was no Doctor on site that day. Once the implant was in place, the next tooth was my back right one that had a temporary crown. This tooth had a substantial amount of decay so the Doctor eliminated the majority of the tooth leaving me with a very small amount exposing the nerves. I complained of the pain to which I was scheduled to then see an endodontist to look into having a root canal. The Doctor was unable to perform the root canal because the tooth was filed down below the gum line. I was then sent to a Periodontist, he looked at the tooth and said there was nothing anyone could do since the tooth was cut down so low. The tooth would need to be extracted. I understand that the tooth had substantial amount of decay. My main complaint here is why Dr. Echeverri was unable to detect the massive amount of decay and nerve damage prior to conducting and charging me for the crown treatment. Both the Endodontist and Periodontist were able to detect this when they looked at my X-Rays. Between all the fillings, the implant and the crown I spent $3000. The final conclusion to the back tooth is that I will need to have it extracted that will cost me another $4700 with an Oral surgeon. Since the initial cleaning, I've had to miss several hours of work going to and from the Dental office each week because of the poorly executed work done (incorrect implant, metal piece falling out, temporary crown falling off) , no follow up from the staff, etc. When I spoke to Dr. Echeverri to reverse the crown treatment, he said that we would coordinate with the billing specialist and have it reversed and refunded. I followed up and they denied my refund and said I would need to pay for the work that was already done. I expressed my frustration given everything that I had been through, but received an extremely rude response from the billing technician. I requested to speak with Dr. Eagan herself, but I have not received a call from her. Needless to say, I WILL NOT BE RETURNING TO THIS OFFICE AND ADVISE OTHERS TO TAKE THEIR DENTAL NEEDS ELSEWHERE. After having difficulty booking an appointment and giving a 1 star review I was contacted by their office apologizing for the difficulties. I decided to give this place another chance based off their good reviews. Overall the place is clean and nice on the inside. The staff is nice too. But that is where I I find the the pleasantries to end. I don't find them to be very organized. It took them a while to check me in. They gave me all the forms to sign and when it came to the part where you must sign that you received a copy of the HIPPA form, I had to go to the front and ask for a copy because they never gave me one. They couldn't even find it at first and had to look for it and make a copy. The check out was also very slow and there was an issue with my payment amount charged. My teeth cleaning was supposed to be free but I was charged $10 for the visit and $35 for the cleaning. This isn't a night club. Why do I have to pay a cover charge? I took this up with my insurance company after I left (and paid). Another thing that bothered me about this place is I had written on my file that I am allergic to latex. The hygienist checked my file then put on latex gloves. A minute or so into my cleaning my face started to itch and burn. I asked her is she was wearing latex. She apologize then admitted she did see in my file the allergy to latex, then giggled and thanked me for reminding her. (Yes she changed her gloves after that). After the cleaning they wanted to do X-rays and an exam. I explained that I had one done in January and didn't need it. That I could have the other dentist send over the files if it was necessary. Several more times she tried to persuade me but I declined. The entire visit was supposed to take 45mins-1hr. It took an hour at least to clean my teeth, which were lightly stained from coffee and had been cleaned in January. I was not waiting around for an exam and X-rays. The check out was also a slow process. As I went to leave I bought some teeth bleach gel. The sole reason I wanted to get my teeth cleaned was so I could start bleaching them again. They charged me $25 for one syringe that was obviously part of a larger pack that had broken up. They actually sold each syringe in the blue sealing packets that they use to sterilize tools. After I got home I went online and saw the same brand from a dental distributor which is sold in packs of 4 for $16 with shipping included. What a rip off! read more

No dentist visits you after a 6 month cleaning, robot calls cancel appointments within a 24 hour notice and reschedule 3 month out, and the best = always being late the office does not share cost of service until after the appointment scheduled time; even when asked well in advance! I was a client of this office for several years. The office itself is fine once you get there for an appt. However this month is the 2nd time my routine appt was canceled abruptly ( excluding COVID) and the office cannot reschedule for 6 months. This time it was for a hygienist who needs to get a covid vaccine ( reasonable). The cancelation was less than 24 business hours in advance with no effort to fit me in anytime in the next 5 months. This is frankly unreasonable and disrespectful of my time. The desk staff I spoke to were rude about my request to reschedule. I asked to have the Dentist call me. I also have not heard back. The dentist herself is great. However, the office seems to have too many clients or over book the calendar (or both) because in the event you ever need to reschedule an appointment it is nearly impossible unless you wait several months (this isn't practical for people with kids, jobs, and now Covid). I've been dealing with this scheduling frustration for years, but overlooked it because I like Dr. Eagan as a dentist. I knew I just had to book six months out and then protect that day with my life. I booked my cleaning for May of this year several months in advance. They gave me one business day notice that they needed to cancel my appointment due to an issue on their end. They then refused to book me a new appointment any earlier than October! The admin I spoke with made me feel like I was being unreasonable to ask to be rebooked in the month of May, and she had such a rude and disrespectful attitude. I should not have to wait 5 months to reschedule when they cancelled on me. Why are Miami area dentist so evil, shady and corrupt? Two months ago, I subscribed to the Delta Dental DentalCare USA plan, an HMO dental plan. I called several dentist in the area that accepted the plan according to the Delta Dental website. When calling to make an appointment with the first three dentist, they explained that they do not accept the plan. This is shady to begin with, but seems to be common practice in the area. After reading several reviews for dentist accepted by my plan, I came across Jessica Eagan DDS and was quite excited by the reviews. I then called her office and confirmed that they DO in fact accept the DeltaCare USA HMO plan. I explained to the office staff that I would now call Delta Dental to switch my HMO assigned dentist to Jessica Eagan DDS. After making the assigned dentist switch through Delta Dental, effective immediately, I then called the office of Jessica Eagan back to make my first appointment. It is then that they told me that I could not be seen using the DentalCare HMO plan until January 2017, 5 months in the future. I was quite irritated. I anticipated have to wait a month or two, but not 5 months. They did offer to call me with any cancellations that they may have. I explained that I am not unemployed sitting on a couch next to the phone and I need a definite appointment for myself and two family members. She then placed me on terminal hold for 14 minutes as she "worked on it" before disconnecting me. All in all, I spent several hours reading reviews, making the switch with my DeltaDental and contacting her office. If they had no intent of scheduling me for an appointment this year, they could have told me that the first time I called before I went through the hassle of switching my assignment to her office. It may be the case that Miami area dentist allow themselves to be listed as accepting providers so that they can collect the small monthly stipend from automatically assigned subscribers and when that person attempts to have services rendered, they won't schedule an appointment or claim they do not accept the plan. read more

OMG - I just called Dr. Eagan's office to try and schedule a teeth cleaning as I have always liked Dr. Eagan - she is so sweet and patient. My brother is also a patient of Dr. Eagan. However, I had the most horrible experience with the lady who answered the phone. She told me that they have no availability for a teeth cleaning until next January. I thought I misunderstood her given the fact that it's only he first week of August - so I asked for clarification. She the rudely responded that they only have 5 chairs and they are all full, so unless they can magically fit me in a full chair, they cannot provide me with a seat for a cleaning. Worst experience ever today at Dr Eagans office. Her staff charged my daughter $250 for a 100% covered service by our insurance company. When we called to let them know they had made an error and charged her for a completely covered service they refused to reimburse her and said we would have to wait the process of them filing the claim to see if the insurance paid the claim 100%. Why do we have to wait? All you have to do is pick up the phone call the insurance company and see that you charged her $250 in error Because you will see that it's a covered service. Not only did they refuse to do that but the manager was extremely rude to me and left me on hold telling me that he was going to call the insurance company to verify benefits and then instead of doing that he put the service on and refused to answer my calls again. It's common knowledge that everyone hates going to the dentist.. its painful.. you never really know what's happening.. and then you find out your insurance doesn't really cover much........thus the reason why I avoided them like the plague!! AND THEN I FOUND DR. EAGAN!! Which is a good thing I did, because otherwise I would have ended up being toothless. The office has a relaxing vibe... really.. the entire staff is both friendly and helpful... PROFESSIONAL... And are you ready? I've been there over 15 times and not once did I have to wait more than 5 minutes to be taken care of. Now, for the 411 on the doctor... She is one of those people that say what they mean.. and mean what they say. Extremely knowledgeable and will basically do what ever it takes to make sure you are 110% satisfied.. yes 110% (not a typo).. she goes above and beyond. She tells you everything she is going to do, and how you will feel, so there are no surprises. The office is run like a well-oiled machine, I've never seen anything like it. I also want to add that sometimes when I'm sitting in the dentist chair waiting for glue to dry or something like that, I actually FALL ASLEEP.. that's how comfortable this place makes me feel. And yes, I fall asleep without any gas or anything of the sort. And finally, I needed a lot of work done so I had been shopping around for pricing for a bit. Dr. Eagan's prices were much lower than any I had found. Even after I exhausted my insurance allowance, she still honored the insurance agreed to pricing. Most dentists don't do do that. I went for a cleaning yesterday. The hygienist left me in the room for 10 mins before she returned. When she did finally return, I mentioned to her my gums are sensitive and to do the cleaning gently. As soon as she started cleaning her touch was very rough. She then said she would clean it manually. In 15 mins she was done cleaning. I said to her I have never had anyone who cleaned for only 15 mins as in the past it usually takes 40 mins. She was so upset she stormed out of the room and left me sitting on the chair and didn't return. I went to the office manager to let him know what happened. Instead of apologizing he said she is very good and knows what she is doing. I said how is that the lady in the next room was in before me and her teeth are still being cleaned and I am out in 15 mins? I didn't feel my teeth cleaned and asked for another appointment with another hygienist. They refused to accommodate me. I have tried calling them and nobody has returned my call. I went in to this office a couple of months ago after another dentist had told me I had cavities (just trying to make money off me). I went to see Dr. Eagan to get a second opinion and she was very thorough in explaining to me why I actually didn't have any cavities... She was very honest and was so sweet! I also recently went in for a regular cleaning and had a very pleasant experience. Only downside: they have a tiny parking lot. So if you come early (as in 8-9AM it'll be empty), if you come in any time after 10AM, you'll have to park around the street or wherever you find parking! read more

Great dental office. I've had crowns done and cleanings done, and every time has been an ideal appointment. The office runs on time, the staff is knowledgable and helpful, and every room is clean and spotless. They explain everything clearly, and send out text and email reminders for appointments so you don't forget! Finally a dental practice willing to use post-2000 technology! Dr. Eagan is great as well. I have only been able to see Dr. Eagan once in about 3 years. I make appointments 6 months in advance for me and my family and they are always cancelled without option to reschedule. I used to see Dr Eagan for a couple of years. Several times, my appointment was cancelled last minute. Most of the times I had to wait about 45 minutes to 1 hour. Last time I took my kids to see her as well. We had to wait about one hour. I made a complaint and few weeks later I received a letter from them saying that because I gave them a bad review they would not see me anymore...Found that to be very unprofessional,,,, read more
