I fell in love with a chair (purchased two) new with no samples available yet. The sofa I liked online was also not one in their well furnished showroom. The success came from working with the guidance and vision of their excellent staff. They opened my mind to new ideas while also listening to what was important to me. Lawrence did reach out to me about 1 year ago and offered to correct the issues with the living room wall units and bathroom vanity, however his efforts became nothing more than empty promises. His communication is very unprofessional of constant excuses and promises that someone will be able to come out and assess. Jesse Chicago/ Home Element is a distributor of furniture which includes the Cattelan Italian furniture company. During my visit to the store I also purchased several pieces of home decor as well as a beautiful end table. The Jesse Chicago/ Home Element staff were professional, knowledgeable and accommodating. The Monaco Console was ordered from the Cattelan Company in Italy and arrived exactly as ordered and in perfect condition. It is a work of art and simply beautiful. Yet again you are trying to blame me instead of assuming responsibility. While i did supply measurements and photos for the initial design and cost estimate - the measurements for the walk in closets were taken BEFORE we finalize the wall unit that I am discussing here. So - your claim is a lie. As professional designers, you should have indicated if there were certain things that I needed to look at, if those should have been my responsibility (which i disagree with). The measurements i gave you were not incorrect. They just did not include where outlets where placed. I would have expected a professional to see this in the photos and take it into their consideration when they proposed a design. I suspect this is not the first time outlets (especially in a unit that should house a TV) are on the wall that you install the unit. This has nothing to do with the measurements of the wall, which i indeed provided and were absolutely correct. If i needed to think of all of this myself - why do i need to hire a professional? The statement that you immediately offered a discount or a replacement is another lie. Your team tried to hide the damage from me. Your installer - an honest man - called the office when he discovered the damage. I was in the next room and his phone was on speaker. I heard every word. Once he reported the damage he was immediately asked if I saw it. He said no, and was told to hide it from me. I overheard the conversation, after which i went into the room, inspected the item and called your office. I was told that there is no way that i can get a replacement since the item arrived from Europe. My preference would have been to get a new unit, even if it meant waiting for a long time, but i was told that this was not an option. I was indeed offered a discount on the wall units that had yet to arrive but I was refused to get a refund. Of course that eventually i too the $250 discount, which applied for items i received many months later. Why did we have to wait for this and what happen to people who do not buy several items from you that arrive at different times? This "discount" was much much less than the cost of the damaged piece. Mistakes can happen to anyone. Damage can happen. But to lie about this - this is unacceptable and i wanted to let people know about your practice. We were required to pay everything in full before even getting installation date set. This is not a common practice, but i have seen it happen before. However, with your company - we had to pay with money transfer. Credit card was not acceptable - so - potential buyers, beware. You will have no recourse once you've paid. You will be at the mercy of this man and his team. read more

My overall experience with Xin Yang has been beyond unprofessional. She has not stood behind the products she sold me after my family has spent over 200,000 dollars in new furnishings. I purchased a 1700 rug, which had excessive shedding within the first 30 days and notified Xin of my concern. She informed me that this is a normal process with viscose rugs. I requested for her to contact the distributor regarding a rug replacement given the issues. She finally agreed in person to find us an alternative rug and after completing diligence discovered her offer to replace my rug was simply her taking back my purchased rug and charging me for the new rug plus shipping but advertising the cost of the new rug at 2700 when I was able to locate the same rug for 1200. This deceitful and manipulative behavior is unethical and disappointing. After contacting her regarding this she has ignored all calls and messages. She is unwilling to communicate and is not someone to do business with given her unprofessional behavior and inability to serve her customers. The deceitful behavior and disregard for her clients is a pattern that needs to be addressed with the Better Business Bureau. I hope this message helps others as I strongly advise not doing business with someone who does not stand behind their products and has the audacity to ignore a large client. read more

I refuse to pay money for cheaply made products. Everything here is very high quality and beautiful. I found the staff to be professional and very helpful, especially Larry who carried my purchase out to my car. Corrie was very helpful with helping to select the proper finishes, etc. after the purchase, she kept us up-to-date regarding the fabrication and ultimately shipping. Jesse Chicago and Designer Corrie really came through for us. We had previously ordered two chairs from a California based firm, waited 9 months only to find out the company stopped making 1/2 their original line of furniture, and we had waisted a year of our time - UGH! I found a similar chair we liked, and the local dealer was Jesse Chicago. A call to the showroom found Corrie, and she answered all my questions, and offered many options. Corrie is a true professional, and I felt confident she knew the chairs we needed and what I was looking for on our project. What I liked about Corrie is she knew this furniture manufacturer well enough to help with our selection of leather etc. and knew their manufacturing timeframes plus shipping methods. Corrie contacted me regarding a price increase in early 2022, so I was able to place my order and save myself from that increase. We ordered a coffee table from Jesse Chicago and had a pretty seamless experience placing the order. Like most furniture coming from Italy, we were quoted a 10-12 week lead time. I emailed our sales associate, Xin, on weeks 10, 11, and 12 for a status update, but received no reply from her. On my third email, I had copied another sales associate and she informed me that there would be an additional 12 week delay. As we were rightfully shocked and displeased, we wanted to know the reason for the delay. The staff had not a clue and couldn't be bothered. For a high-end retailer, the business should be reaching out to the customer proactively regarding any issues with an order. AT A MINIMUM, it's the business's responsibility to investigate an issue once it is brought to their attention. When we asked when and how they were going to contact the manufacturer, Xin replied "I'll handle it my way" preferring to leave us in the dark. When we asked her what she would do in our shoes, she nonchalantly said "[the delay] wouldn't bother me". Even if that were true, her lack of empathy and cavalier attitude is completely unprofessional and unacceptable. Their lack of communication with their customers is a tell-tale sign that customer service is not their number one (or likely even number 10) priority. read more

We purchased 8 Italian dove grey leather back and seats with quite thin almost ebony colored legs from Home Element almost one year ago. We dealt with Jin who was extremely knowledgeable and helpful and the only part of our experience that was slightly less than desirable ( through no fault of Home Element) was the amount of time it took for manufacturing and shipping via freighter from Italy. But they arrived exactly as ordered and in perfect condition and the fellow the used for delivery to our condo was completely polite, knowledgeable about the value and therefore completely cautious with our condo delivery. We we extremely pleased with our service from Jin and Home Element and am happy to recommend them. Their furniture is high end and you might get a small discount from a decorator. We gave a 50% deposit and paid the balance just before delivery. read more

great store - has a lot eye catching oddities and doodads. Visited during my lunch break today and had a SWB (shopping while black) experience. Store representative followed close behind every step I took pretending to dust or reposition paper weights it was hilarious. It's near winter we all have big coats and knit caps - he couldnt see my $270 john varvatos pants and $200 JLindberg shirt I was wearing (not that it really matters does it?) all I guess he could see was my skin tone because the caucasian woman shopped w/out an escort or a shadow in my case.
