Normally you expect something salty and savory, but this had a really nice sweetness that was amazing. The chicken breast was huge, cooked perfectly, and incredibly juicy. The bread was soft, fresh, and with just a touch of sweetness. The aioli sauce made everything come together perfectly and added just the right amount of zang without taking away from the chicken. In my four day chicken places test near my Jesse Boy was on my list. First of all Jesse Boy, you're cool! Love the name! I'm just finding out about Korean fried chicken and I figured Jesse Boy would be a good way to get acquainted to that style of chicken. I had the Korean Fried Chicken Tenders. Wow! They are huge! Much larger than I was expecting. Way to go Jesse Boy! The coating is light and perfectly crispy. The chicken was a little dry, ain't gonna' lie, but it was still plenty good. You will definitely want to order at least one extra dipping sauce. One small container is not nearly enough. It's really good! For a side, I had a sesame salad and pickled radish. Great quality. Long overdue on writing this one. Jesse Boy has been a consistent stop for me over the years and consistency in this city is worth its weight in gold. My order never changes, fried cauliflower with jasmine rice, and it has never let me down once. If you're considering the spicy option just know that Jesse Boy is not playing around. That heat is REAL. But it's the kind of spicy that keeps you coming back for more because the flavor underneath is just as strong as the kick. I'm still loving this place, the food is consistently great. I've done pick-up and delivery and have had great service both ways. If you want to eat there, it's more of a refuel spot, not a lot of seating, I think most of their business is pick-up and delivery. My go-to dish is the spicy fried chicken bowl with a half order of spicy fried cauliflower. I usually love spicy food, but my tolerance has gone down as I've gotten older, and I'm not sure if they gave me regular ponzu or Diablo, because it was HOT! You've been warned lol. Very affordable lunch or dinner. I got a bowl with fried chicken, it's basically rice + chicken and a big salad with tons of toppings. They serve the salad on top, so the rice and chicken doesn't wilt everything. Flavors are good overall, but the chicken on its own is pretty bland and needed the ponzu sauce since it's not tossed in sauce. Generous portion size as well for the price. Jesse Boy surprised me by how much I liked it! The menu is small and they don't have as many flavor options as other Korean Fried Chicken spots. Alas, they pull through with their limited menu. It's delish. I know they do chicken sandwiches but I read the Yelp reviews & went with the tenders as most people seemed to favor that. The chicken tenders were succulently plump with the nicest, crisp and excellent flavor on both the non-spicy soy ginger flavor. If you know the og kchicken flavor, it's a really nice version of that. What's amazing about Jesse Boy is their vegan cauliflower! It's so great to have this option to dine with my vegan friends comfortably. And maybe snag a bite of their dish ;) I found it to be one of the best deep fried cauliflower dishes I've had in awhile. It's no doubt thanks to that exact same superb soy ginger flavoring and light crisp on the outside. Truly excellent. We ordered delivery and the only recommendation I would make is some ventilation for takeout/delivery orders. I airfried when the food got here to crisp it up, but the takeout containers may need to be adjusted since this seems to account for most of their business. It's located in the strip mall and parking can be a challenge, although street parking is available. it's a small location with a lot going on. You greeted with someone who can help and I've always found the service good. There are options of Korean fried chicken or cauliflower. I also love their french fries and Fresca drink. My favorite drink is grape, but they have different options throughout the week. I've ordered delivery pick up before as well. Its packaged and sealed usually still warm when it arrives. It's got such a good seasoning and balance of crispy outside with a tender inside, really, it is magnificent! The staff as well was so friendly I came in with my friend just to find them all filming some PR/social media work and they were so open to helping me find out just what I wanted and letting me try the aguas and sauces. Been eating here since their first week open and love this place. But salad is #2 on the list of causing food poisoning next to chicken #1! Please talk to your kitchen staff about clearing out and not serving old and or damaged lettuce. It makes me question cleanliness. Just doesn't seem like the normal food I get from here. The tenders were so good. Within the first bite, I think I blushed because the food tasted like it was made with love. You have something truly special. The chicken is wonderfully fried and you can taste the garlic soy seasoning.
