Lena and the chefs clearly know what they're doing, and the staff is consistently friendly, welcoming, and attentive. We needed a place to eat before our flight back to the US and wanted to try a new cuisine. We met Brenda at the counter and told her we were newbies. She let us try different meats and helped us create the order we would like. We ordered chicken shawarma wraps and they were ridiculously good. Especially the bites that had plenty of pickle in them. When she had time she also ran and wiped down tables. We were impressed by her work ethic. Brenda was so kind to us - it truly made our day. We may come back to Canada just to pay her another visit! Service was top notch. Walked in and was immediately greeted by someone behind the counter, and he directed us where to order. The young lady (I hate that I forgot her name) working there was very gracious. When my 2 year old son went to ask her for a cup of water, she started to fill one from the tap, and then instead grabbed a bottle for him. She served us our food, and brought us some delicious tea and baklava and even hung around to speak with us for a while. She was very polite and even though she seem to be limited in her English, tried her very best to converse with us and make us feel welcomed and taken care of. We were a group of 7 and had a smattering of their offerings; the shawarma plate, wrap, salad, and their fried chicken. Everything was very tasty, the chicken was very crunchy and flavored to perfection. All the sides were very yummy. I'm a sucker for a good hummus and theirs hit the spot. Highly recommend. read more

Visited Calgary in April and decided to order Jerusalem Shawarma for delivery and I'm super glad I did. Some of the best shawarma I've had! I ordered the shawarma wrap with beef and chicken and the garlic potatoes - both were delicious and huge portions! For the wrap, you're able to customize the toppings/ingredients that go inside. The potatoes came with garlic sauce/toum. I can't speak to the service and ambiance since I ordered delivery, but my order was accurate, well packed, and still warm when it arrived. When I'm back in Calgary, this is one of the first spots I'll be hitting up! read more

Used to be my goto for shawarma. They used to have three or four people working it was busy they were busy the food was good. Now it is hit or miss and there are probably around 8-9 people standing behind "working", while two are physically doing everything. I went there yesterday and I ordered a chicken Shawarma plate. I was asked if I wanted a tossed salad or a Greek salad. The tossed salad looked extremely lackluster. The Greek salad was just basically cucumbers with no dressing, no feta, a few tomatoes and one or two olives. Feta is what really makes a Greek salad. I asked why there was no cheese and the girl behind the counter pointed to a small half dime piece of cheese and said yes there is some. My students are going to write an awesome review on a picture that I give them as a practice. The chicken was a little over cooked and dry. The garlic sauce was good. Sadly I didn't just go for the garlic sauce. If I didn't teach culinary students I probably wouldn't know any better. I hope that they get better in the future and more consistent. I have not lost all hope... I used to recommend this place to everyone now I am just disappointed. read more

Super tasty shawarma plates. The meat is cooked well and they give you a pita with your plate. The portion is honestly enough to stretch to two meals for me. The potatoes had a bit of crisp and the inside was tender, perfect for dipping in their garlic sauce. Great value for what you get. I had the donair plate and was super happy with everything, the only thing I wish would've done differently was ask for more sauce. Such a delicious stop after landing in Calgary. It was super close to the airport, literally on the way to the national parks and worth trying to maneuver our camper van in the tiny parking lot for.... Hubs ordered the chicken kabob platter, which he LOVED (said the meat was very tender and flavorful), while I went with the falafel plate. It's massive!! It came with a side salad, amazing roasted potatoes with tzatziki, a big heaping pile of creamy hummus, rice and pita. Everything was delicious and we certainly had a ton of leftovers, which we weren't upset about AT ALL! The falafel was perfect consistency and crispy fried, and the favors were authentic middle eastern and very present. We were given a taste of their incredible baklava which was dripping in honey! YUM! We washed it all down with an imported Arabic pomegranate drink. Prices were super reasonable especially for the amount of food given! I would come back here in a heartbeat. We came in as a group of 17 and the grandparents sat at table nearest the entrance while the kids sat in the middle and we sat furthest in. At the end when we got the bill we were surprised how large it was but saw that the grandparents ordered a lot of food so we paid. An hour or so later when we returned to the tour bus we found out that the grandparents didn't order any of the food they just kept putting plates in front of them. 4.5 if I could. Taking a little off because the setup is a little complicated, especially when they're busy. We stopped by at 7:30 pm and just beat a rush of customers that seemed to last a half hour. The setup is like the Chipotle or Subway of Shawarma, with a variety of options and toppings to choose from. This is where it can get confusing, especially if they jump right into preparing a standard wrap without asking you what toppings you want -- which is what happened to us. Instead of restarting our wrap, they used it for the next person in line who had a standard order. This promoted us to step out of line and wait for that wrap to be completed before restarting on ours. Confusing and slightly annoying. The only other gripe I'd have is that the kebabs take 10-15 minutes to prepare. Understandable because they're fresh and made to order, but half our party was done with their wraps by the time the kebabs were done. Despite these two issues, I'm still rating this place a four. Food was excellent, as noted by the constant stream of customers. It's also a nice vote of confidence when the customer base predominately matches the ethnicity of the food being prepared. We ordered a beef donair wrap, chicken shawarma wrap and beef kebab plate. Everything was delicious. We'd definitely be regulars if we lived locally. read more

Landed at Calgary airport and was famished so our group decided to come here. There was one table that could seat like 8 ppl, which was really convenient for our group. I ordered the beef shawarma plate which came with plenty of food. Everything tasted delicious, the beef, the pita bread, hummus. I somehow managed to finish all the food and was absolutely stuffed. We have eaten from this location numerous times with zero problems. Tonight however needed this review. We ordered through Skip and our order was accurate what it was missing was flavour and toppings. Bf had a chicken shawarma and I had the beef. While both were packed with a lot of meat they lacked all the toppings we had asked for. Example .. we both asked for banana peppers (which gives any dish flavour ours were both too bland to finish. I equated mine to dog food. Order a side Greek salad, the cucumbers were borderline rotten (really mushy and had that transparent look to them) whereas the tomatoes weren't ripe, in fact green.
