Delicious and quality meal! We stopped here after driving into Calgary after consistently seeing the locations as the top rated throughout the city. The reviews were right - yum! We were excited to see the options on the menu - everything from falafel to kefta to lamb. We ordered two kabob plates and in combination tried the chicken, beef, and lamb kefta kabobs. Everything was tender and full of flavor. The hummus and drizzled olive oil was fresh and incredibly smooth. The only thing that was not our favorite was the side of potatoes. Of the flavors we had, this one item need a bit more pizazz. Other than that, I would absolutely recommend! Make sure to add this to your list. read more

I've been waiting for a location to open near my house and now they have! It was a little delayed as there was a small fire just before they opened, but now they're here. This location seems smaller than other locations in the city, but it could just be that it's packed with people since they opened this weekend. There's several tables which should be fine once the initial rush calms down and they've been open for a while. They were well prepared for the opening. I've been twice now and they've had a good 6-8 staff working when I've come in to help keep things moving. The staff seem just as excited about the new location as the patrons are to try them out. As with the other locations the menu is sizable. There's a good range of options from wraps to plates. The wraps are large, which is good since the price tag is $14-15. However, they're a little too big sometimes and they could really use a smaller size for a lunch portion. That being said though, they're making some of the best shawarma and donairs in the city. Right now they're giving out free samples while you're waiting. There's a tray at the cashier of samples but also while I was waiting for them to make my wrap a guy came around with fresh from the fryer falaffel. I'm not a fan of falaffel but these were excellent. read more

Absolutely fantastic food! Depending on what you order, they cook it fresh so it might take 15 minutes, but it is so, so worth the wait. I had the mixed meat shawarma wrap, which was beef and chicken, and it was fantastic. Bursting with flavour, fresh tasting, and all around excellent. I highly recommend this place! read more

They have very good food it's a bit pricey but I like the fact that they do offer a free meal to people in need.

We ate last Sunday here and the food exceeded our taste buds. My husband and I are both foodie and is in culinary world. The lamb in the dish Lamb kebab plate is juicy and tender. The hummus and the sauce for the lamb is tasty, I don't eat hummus before but now i devoured it with pita. Sidedish salad was also superb even the baked potato. Lastly i love the tea or apple tea that was served. Good service of the people. We will eat here again for sure! read more

We stopped here while we were in from out of town and I am so glad we did. The food was amazing. The flavours are so good and I don't know how they get their humus so creamy. The dining was very clean and stylish and the staff was very friendly. We will definitely be back when we are in Calgary. read more

OMG!!! Amazing food! Friendly Staff! Recently, I traveled to Calgary to visit my friends from the USA. They took me to this place, you can't imagine how delicious was the food. I ordered the beef shawarma, the sandwich was huge. It was good enough for 2 people but I had the whole sandwich because I couldn't stop eating it. :D They were so generous, to serve their customers. They even offer free baklava. :) I wish they had a store in California. read more

If I could give a minus rating I would! Atrocious service. I have been a regular at the shawnessy location since it opened and I have gone to the Macleod restaurant and I have NEVER had such a tragic experience. They are generally lovely staff who pay close attention. We just ordered through skip the dishes and because we couldn't find a place to "comment" we called and arranged to have the pita on the side. I am allergic. Our order just arrived and they left out one whole order and the one we did get had the pita spread out over the entire platter. So much for my dinner. I called and explained the situation and they apologized. They recognized that it was a mistake they made. Would they fix it? No. No!? No. They said there was nothing they could do. We could ask Skip the Dishes for a refund but no I don't get my meal. They said we should order again!?! What!?! Yes, sorry we cannot more helpful. This is an organization we were prepared to advocate for even after their poor health review because the service is usually great! What happened? 130th Avenue location - you are disappointing loyal clients. read more

I've eaten here before and it was okay. The food isn't amazing... it was actually served to me pretty cold but it was flavourful enough that I didn't really mind. However, upon my second visit I was not at all pleased. I searched around to sit at a clean table and there wasn't one. Every single table was dirty with crumbs of food and sauce. It was truly appalling. I sat at the cleanest table I could find. I could let the lack of clean tables slide if it were super busy and understaffed, but there was hardly anyone there but myself and maybe a couple others. I then found myself needing to use the restroom. There were two one stall bathrooms but one of them was out of order. I used the stall that wasn't out of order and thought nothing of it considering it was the only bathroom option. It wasn't very clean. Worst of all, after I finished my business I went to grab some toilet paper. THERE WAS NONE. I was trapped in the bathroom with no toilet paper inside the only toilet option in the entire restaurant. It's unbelievable that they could allow their only washroom to be so unclean and unstocked. Thank god my friend was there to come to my rescue and being me some tissues. It was very embarrassing. I will not be returning again. The staff here need to get their act together. read more
