My only miniscule complaint would be that the Spinach Pie had a bit too much garlic, which overpowered the appetizer. I got the Chicken Shawarma meal with rice and fries. The portions are huge and I could only get through half my meal. I would say my favorite part of the meal was the rice, it's fluffy and buttery. So yummy! Was a huge fan of JG at their previous location and this new incarnation is just as delicious but with a better space. The food is still fantastic. Nothing has changed there. I had the chicken shawarma with hummus and fattoush. The chicken was juicy, the hummus had a bit of a kick, and the fattoush was fresh and flavorful. A relief to know that nothing has changed in the move. The space is a real winner. The previous place was very tiny and cramped but you stuck it out because the food was SO SO good. This new location is clean, bright, and provides plenty of elbow room. It now provides the best of both worlds--tasty eats in a comfortable environment. Visited with and on the recommendation of some friends that have visited a few times and recommended the Lentil soup, chicken shawarma, and hummus. I decided to order the Kafta Kabab plate with a side of Tabouli. All was delicious, and I agree that the hummus provides some extra seasoning that you wouldn't typical get store bought. The rice was cooked pilaf style and was a good accompaniment to the meal. Tabouli was nicely chilled, fresh with crisp, with uniform dicing. The ambiance is casual and it can be a bit quiet. Do they want to KILL their customers with known cancer-causing agents?) and the horrible Vanilla fake "creamer". (Which I promptly banned at my office coffee bar...Yuck!) They need Equal or Splenda (bring you own -- I did, in fact, bring some packets of Splenda in a snack bag which half-saved me).and some real milk and cream (next time, I'll walk over and bring some real milk). We were surprised that the meat on all our sandwiches was cold ...not even warm but like out of the fridge ! One true indicator of a good middle eastern restaurant is there baba ghanoug, and Old Jerusalem failed to sway me to the notion that their's was good. I decided to get the beef Shish kabob plate with a side of fattoush. I was pretty blown away since I haven't had too much good food after moving into Ann Arbor. I have ordered the kafta kabob sandwich (delish!), fattoush salad (freshest party in my mouth!), tabbouli (one of the best I've had in a restaurant), hummus, and the fattoush with chicken kabob (amazeballs). However, my favorite thing to eat there (besides the fattoush) is the mjaddara (rice & lentils with carmelized onions). But then guys...they sent me back to my childhood with the drink options. They offer Clearly Canadian (sparkly water drink with fruit flavor)!! It was literally a dream come true to eat amazing food, sit on the terrace on a beautiful sunny day in Ann Arbor, and just take it all in with a Clearly Canadian. As for dessert, I've had the rice pudding, pistachio baklava, and namoura. My fave was the baklava of the three. Great for meat eaters, vegetarians, and vegans alike. I'm new to Ann Arbor so until yesterday I didn't know about this absolute institution in downtown A2. I was recommended to go here however by coworkers and today I went in to try their falafel with hummus wrap and their chicken shawarma I'm not the most knowledgeable on shawarma but theirs was 10x better than the other shawarma place that's close to my job I've had many falafels and falafel wraps however yet I can still say Jerusalem gardens was my favorite Both sandwiches were completely different but what they had in common was the clear quality of the ingredients with everything from the wrap to the lettuce and even the tomato bringing their A game contributing to an overall unmatched wrap experience One of the first things I noticed before even getting my food was just how clean it was despite being busy and you can see into the kitchen yet I still saw no grime or dirt on anything and the grease traps even looked spotless which as a former food service worker is something I look for often and am just as often disappointed My final point of praise for JG is the value , both wraps were full to the brim and even the sauce was portioned generously pouring out the side of the shawarma if I wasn't careful , despite the fullness of the wraps the prices were more than fair at around $7 each Overall I'd give them a 10/10 if I wasn't stuck at 5 stars and I'll probably be back to try some more tasty affordable options tomorrow read more

A pleasant place with friendly and helpful staff, serving a somewhat homogenized version of Lebanese food. Everything is tasty, but as a whole it's lacking when compared to the better restaurants offering this cuisine. For instance, most of the Lebanese restaurants I go to serve freshly baked pita bread, and they make sure your bread basket is always full. At Jerusalem Garden we were brought a basket with the equivalent of one commercial pita cut into eighths, and when we asked for more, we were brought another cut up half pita. The various meat dishes are all well cooked, and the sandwiches salads are well prepared, but short on seasoning. The felafel is very good, but seriously, a $13 felafel plate should have more than three felafel and a tablespoon of hummus. read more

Now it's in a delightfully spacious clean room a dining experience like JR deserves. Although I only have 1 check-in here, I assure you, I've been here about 20 times. I've had probably about everything on the menu, and can say with confidence you will enjoy your experience here. Something about the Kafta Kabob, the Hummus, the yogurt sauce in the Chicken Schwarma, the falafel, mmmm. I make a stop here every time I come home to Michigan. Jerusalem Garden is a favorite for many in Ann Arbor because it offers very clean (gluten-free, etc.) and fresh Mediterranean food. Personally, I'm not the biggest fan as I usually end up still hungry after a meal. Unlike other Mediterranean restaurants like Oasis and Palm Palace, the food is less greasy and is more reasonably priced. The yogurt sauce is more watery than thick but still is very flavorful. If you are looking for a heavier meal, check out other places - however, Jerusalem Garden is definitely worth checking out for friendly staff and fresh tasting food. read more
