I've been to Jersey Subs one time before a while back and had a cheesesteak which was very good and with a good amount of meat and veggie fillings. Went back today and ordered a pastrami sandwich with fries. The cashier and the staff were friendly and the decor is New Jersey themed. They also serve pizza which I have yet to try. There's adequate parking out front and there was just one customer having his meal inside. Today's pastrami sandwich was a huge disappointment. It was a good sized sandwich but with just three very thinly sliced slices of pastrami. There were a lot of veggies and peppers which were pretty much the make up of the sandwich. I was barely able to taste the pastrami. The fries were perfectly cooked and salted. I Understand that food service is taking a huge hit with supply expenses and staffing issues and have resulted in higher prices. I guess what I expected and what I was served were on opposite sides of the spectrum. At this time, I can't recommend Jersey Subs and not sure whether I'll return in the future. Tuesdays are but a cheesesteak and get one for $3.90. Ordered online for pickup and it was $40. When we went in to pick up, we asked about the Tuesday BOGO specia, and the guy said it was only if you ordered in person, and then he said thanks and walked away. Very rude! None of the signage inside the res or on their sign outside, nor on their website say that you cannot take advantage of the specials if you order online. Upon arrival, one employee was performing some deep cleaning. Approached the counter to order and was greeted by two additional employees. Placed my order and waited a short period of time for order. Employee continued to clean as establishment was well kept. Received my order, Philly cheesesteak and left. Got home and proceeded to eat the hell out of that damn cheesesteak cause it was delicious. Went there and ordered a supreme pizza. The pizza was huge! After two slices I am full. Not that the toppings weren't good, but the crust was my favorite part of the pizza. The onion chunks were actual slices of onions instead of minced. The sausage reminded me of mini meatballs. Next time we order from here, the plan is to try a different type of pizza. We've ordered the Rueben, twice. First time it was very good, despite them being out of rye bread. Pricey....but good. Second order they were not only out of rye, but sliced bread in general. So they put it on a Small hunk of sub sandwich bread. That would be fine....but they charged FULL price, and the actual sandwich had half the meat etc content at Best. I placed an online order through slice.com and it was 15 minutes past the order window. I called the store to inquire where it was, and the woman hung up on me. We waited, now an hour past, and called again. The woman insisted that we ordered through door dash, she would not take my order number, and I was told she couldn't control the internet and I had to wait "for the big man" to cancel my order tomorrow. The woman was looking at someone else's order entirely. It turns out someone delivered it to our door without knocking or providing a text or call, so our sandwiches sat in the cold on our doorstep for an unknown length of time. not only was service not communicated, but I was treated incredibly rudely on the phone both times I called. This food is not cheap, because the quality is excellent. Their subs are full of high quality ingredients and on good sub rolls like you might find in New Jersey or Philly/NYC area. With COVID-19 my husband and I are trying to support local restaurants using home delivery. We ordered pizza and sub sandwiches from Jersey's Subs. The pizzas were the best I have found since moving from eastern Pennsylvania! Crust was perfect! Had those nice air pockets, was cooked to perfection and held toppings. 20 years in business is a key to knowing something is going right. They bake the bread and use top notch meat (Boars Head) - better than chains. The servings are large and the balance of toppings is spot on. The name says "Jersey Subs" not super friendly and out going "Gentile Southern Diner". Put this place 200 miles east and just a bit north and the ratings would all be 5 stars. I come here to get a sandwich and that is what I get.... and then I come back and get another........ and I'll keep going back. I like the Soprano and the Godfather - 2 versions of an classic Italian - next time I'm going for a cheese steak (real beef). How does this place stay in business?? So I thought I'd give them another try because I was on the mile ground and what piece of shit employees they still have. Just horrible. I order a pizza and a hot sub. 20 minutes later the kid gives me a hot sub and asks me if I want to eat it because the pizza will be another 20 minutes because they forgot to make it. Went off the website menu when placing an order. 2 large pepperoni pizza a sandwich 2 subs and a side of fries came to roughly 97$ when we picked up the order over 20$ more then what we were expecting. We asked about the price difference and were told that the website and paper menus hadn't been updated and they had the new prices on the board in store. When asked to speak to the owner or manager the staff told us that they weren't aloud to give out any information about that and proceeded to be ignorant and said they could do nothing about the price difference that they weren't responsible for the prices not being updated on the company website or the carry out menu. One sandwich was ordered lettuce tomato and jalapeños one sub was ordered with green peppers mayo onions there was maybe 2 green peppers the other sub was ordered with extra cheese as you can see on the receipt we were charged for the toppings that are missing or barely exist. Long story short I will not return. If you do order call ahead and get the "current" prices from the staff before ordering. read more

Hands down the best pizza in Morgantown. By miles. Best pizza in north central WV for that matter. It's also the best deal and biggest pizza around, for about $16 for a one topping 18" pie. Yes folks, it's better than Milano and far better than PI and Pizza Al. They use Boar's Head meats and cheeses for their subs, which are also some of the best around, and they make their own potato and pasta salads, and desserts. Really hard to go wrong. If you haven't tried Jersey's yet, you don't know what you're missing. I don't know what's up with the negative reviews. I have no connection to Jersey's whatsoever, and have been a customer since they opened. I can't say they've always been the friendly or most cordial employees when I've been there and ordered, but I've certainly never had a bad experience, or a rude encounter that I can recall (and believe me, I have them elsewhere, and I do remember them). I have to think that the folks that are dissing the place have some sort of vendetta or ulterior motives. The entire place is one giant counter. I would think if you walk in and are the only one there, you would maybe walk over to the counter where there was an employee, and ask to be waited on? But that's just me. Hard to go wrong with Jersey's. Quality every time at a good price. Watch for the specials. Tuesdays is still buy one get one free cheesesteaks. I like their tuna, and I think that's a special another day. I go for the food, not pleasantries. I'm sure if you give them some they'll give them back though. The food was great! I got a turkey sub with bacon and veggies. The turkey was moist and flavorful, the bacon was warm and delicious and fresh, and everything was great! Only two complaints - the bread was a little tough (it cut up the roof my mouth up a little) and the service wasn't great. It took the guy about 5 minutes to even acknowledge that we were there, didn't know what drinks were available, and didn't upsell anything (had I seen the chips before I paid I would have gotten some!). The food was good the service was awful. I know that with Covid right now they may be busy. They do not communicate with you and very rude staff. It took an hour for them to get us our food and we walked in & they did not even tell us a time frame. We would of been more happy if they wouldn't of told us it was gonna be an hour wait or we would of not waited. Totally has gone down hill! Over the years I had subs, pizza, and winds from Jersey Subs, but they have completely fallen off the quality spectrum this past year. I have been burned the last three times I have visited and this last one is it for me. Last week, I ordered 50 wings for the Steelers/Ravens game and they obviously were cooked in rancid oil: they tasted terrible. Today, I ordered two subs, one Italian, one Turkey, and both were simply spongy bread piled with shredded letus with super-market lunch meats. Nothing authentic at all, and cheap as hell. The meat, tomatos, and cheeze were all cut razor thin with no taste. If I wanted this, I would have gone to Subway or 7-11. I called and complained to the manager who explained that he prepared the subs personally and to their specifications...which is 3 oz of meat per sub! Yes, 3 oz of meat! For this, I was charged $17 for the two subs! He said that they rescaled the ingredients and quantities for their subs. So this is what we can expect from Jersey Subs from now on. If you want something on par with the convenience stores, then Jersey Subs is your place. If you want something more authentic, then look elsewhere. read more

Great sandwich, but lesson learned: split it; they're crazy big

A very awkward set up when you walk in because no one is really running the register. So you just kinda stand there while the employees do other things. I probably stood a good 10 minutes and was first in line. The subs are pricey starting at $8.50 (unless its veggie or bologna). The prep time was another 20 minutes. The employees are not very personable. And the taste of the food was ok. I had a philly steak and cheese. After the buns fried in butter along with the melted cheese and salted steak it was a bit salty. I've had better at Subway. Sorry but this was a complete miss for me. read more

Co-workers and I ordered Philly Cheesesteak and cheese sticks to our office. I Wouldn't suggest you have delivery. Ordered at 11:00 and didn't get until 12:20. Philly Cheese steak was good (not hot) but wouldn't order the cheese sticks again since you only get 4 for $5.75 plus tax and delivery fee. Not worth it. I always have their grilled veggie sub, always pretty decent. Soft bread and Boar's Head products, it's hard to find much wrong with this place! I'm not much of a sub fan, however, I know people who are pretty big fans of Jersey's and I can see why. Their meat subs always smell good and are usually consumed pretty quickly when I watch others purchase them. The nice thing is that they DO offer a hot veggie sub, which I completely appreciate. Service is okay, they like for you to know whatcha want and order it ahreaaddy (I know, I do a horrible Jersey accent, I'm workin' on it!). I also want to put in a mention of their mozzarella sticks, don't know if they're pre-made or housemade, but they're delish!
