Had a reservation to sit at the bar and placed an appetizer order of the large meatball and Caesar salad. Meatball was good but the cheese filling promised was lackluster, and the temp of the meatball wasn't very warm. The Caesar salad was good. We also had table bread which came out hot and had a variety of butter, oil, and olive jam. I ordered the pasta alla vodka. It took 37 minutes to come out AFTER the appetizers were cleared. I can honestly say I have no idea why it took that long for two people's orders. It got to the point where I considered telling the bartender to cancel the order bc they obv hadn't even started our meals. Food when it came out finally was good - but the vodka sauce really wasn't. More like a creamy sauce that was very thin. Reminded me of cream of crab soup without the crab or old bay seasoning. Restaurant was nice, somewhat loud at times but being in the bar area we had a wall blocking out the sound. Overall it was good. Probably more of a 3-star experience but.

Here you can observe some of the local elites, tossing their blonde fake tresses and drinking expensive champagne while making sure everyone sees their brand spanking new Louis Vuittons and huge bosoms, and then there is the much more subtle and respectable old money clientele with their exquisite tailoring, indulging in one of the lovely Cabernets served here. And the Cabernet is lovely. The escargot is glorious, it is served with a little toasty roll that you use to dip up that glorious garlic sauce in the serving dish. I had the dover sole, which was straight in from, you guessed it, Dover! ;' ) I had it with fresh broccolini and parmesan risotto. G had sea bass with lobster risotto. Both dishes were cooked beautifully, the fish is flaky and light and the risotto were perfect. Our server Cody, who is absolutely wonderful by the way, tried to tempt us with desserts (one of which was a caramel hot lava cake!) but we were so full from dinner that we had to decline. Next time perhaps. And there will be a next time. PS: this is not the sort of place where you're going to whip out your phone and start photographing everything. Hence the lack of photos.

Lots of traditional Italian classics on the menu and daily specials. We had veal parmigiana and an Italian sampler with sausage, meatball, a stuffed shell, and ravioli and pasta. The veal was hand breaded and fresh. And enough for two full meals. But the breading overwhelmed the veal and it was a little over cooked. The tomato sauce was tasty but creamier more than tomatoey. I like a sauce with fresh tomatoes and less of a creamy feel. The samplers was good. The beef raviolis were basic and classic. The sausage was top notch - great seasonings, a little spicy, and very juicy and tasty. The meatball was ok-not memorable. Service was attentive and we appreciated the offer of additional sauce midway through our entrees. All in all, good scratch cooking and decent value. It was a good choice for dinner.

It is dark and cozy, original, well-worn bar and fixtures. All the booths were full on a Saturday at 4:30pm, so we sat at the bar to eat. Michelle was our server and was friendly and very accommodating. I had the Italian sampler (huge) which came with a small antipasto salad. My husband had the breaded veal which came with fresh lemon. Neither of us could finish these portions! Along with a slice of cheesecake we took leftovers to go. The new owner, who apparently just bought this gem in April, introduced himself to us and told us about the long standing history of the place. Everything and everyone were top notch! Will return every time we are in the area!
