Didn't know this so if you want cheese remember to mention it. Heard the onion rings were outstanding, got some and definitely far from outstanding. A lot of them were burnt, and quite a bit seemed like the very outside of the onion (the part you should peel). Not battered too well, I'd say they have potential but I don't know. The fries are good, just like fries from any other place. The chicken wings/bites things are from hunt brothers pizza. They're good but you can tell they're just that frozen bagged kind like from the store. They were good though. I paid like $18 for all of that and it was quite a bit of food therefore can't complain about that for sure. You just walk in and up to the counter and order, and wait for your order to be called over the microphone. There's a bunch of seating around the place with many paintings on the walls, with 1 television as well. It's in a very bad location, leaving me as well as others I'm sure just passing by it. It's probably good for locals that don't want to go too far out the way to eat. If I'm being honest I'll probly never drop by here again as much as I don't like to admit it

Big Dan Burger came cold and was a processed patty. Wife had the Shrimp on Bun and she said it was okay but I didn't even want to try it. Onion Rings was probably the only decent thing I had even though the were soggy and greasy. First and Last Time for me.

They do have plenty of seating to dine in though. I think it was like $40 for a club sandwich, buffalo chicken sandwich, and 2 of the loaded fry appetizers. The bayou loaded fries (roast beef n gravy, cheese, etc.) are very good. Fries and fried perfect, roast beef and gravy is very tasty. I will continue to get this each time. The buffalo chicken sandwich was also incredible. Nice n big piece of real chicken tossed in a very tasty buffalo sauce, dressed, very sloppy also, very enjoyable. Girlfriend said the club sandwich was also really good, and a large serving for the price. Workers were really nice as well. Overall I would recommend to anyone, as it's a location that can be easily passed up. But for what it's worth, call and order at a gas station or just dine in as part of a road trip, you will not be disappointed at all

I ordered the surf & turf ( roast beef/shrimp) poboy with fries. It was so fresh and delicious. The shrimp were seasoned just right and the roast beef was flavorful. I was planning to order bread pudding but they recently added a new menu item, bread pudding delight, which is fried bread pudding squares drizzled in caramel and topped with powdered sugar. It came to my table hot and it was just the sweet treat I needed. My recommendation: never skip the bread pudding here (or delight)! It's too good.

When I arrived to pick up my order I was told they didn't have some items. About $8 worth. I asked for a substitute (cake instead of brownies) I was told no that they couldn't that and I had to take it up with Menufy. I messaged Menufy and they told me they would work on my behalf to get the refund from Castalano's! Turns out Castalano's was responsible for the refund! Now if I lived there, going and bugging the manager for my $8 wouldn't be a big deal but I was on day 19 of a 20 day road trip! I was just passing through and wanted one of their muffuletta sandwiches (which was amazing btw). The service was curt and rude, the lady behind the counter couldn't be bothered.

Tucked back off of Main Street, next door to the Main Event. You might actually miss it, but locals know and this place gets packed. For years never realized it was a lunch place. I started with the Pastrami, then the Rueben. I couldn't believe they were even listed. New York would be proud. Next I discovered the T Bast, I was kinda hooked. Reminds me of California.... Served with either home made chips or potato salad....and both delicious. Lucky for me, Sam Castalano forced me to try specials. Sandwich and Salads specials are featured for 3 weeks and a daily special. I've had the crab soup, a tamale soup, the Uptown Shrimp PoBoy and countless others. Yep, all delicious. To comment on another reviewer regarding the styrofoam containers, at first I was suspect too. The reality is that this restaurant serves a downtown community and 99% of the guests are on their lunch breaks. Today I really took notice and just a few threw their containers out, the rest took portions with them. The portions are large and I too, usually take half my sandwich home. Time to go now.....I'm already dreaming about the next TBAST....and you will too, I promise
