I absolutely Love Jersey Mike's, hands down the best subs! I soooo wish they were in downtown Minneapolis!! This trip to St. Anthony location was a special treat. I usually have a #7 turkey and provolone. However, this day I had the #8 which adds ham and bacon. There is no way but Mine's Way. I love the vinegar which gives it awesome flavor.

OK I'm not a fan of subs, but I can see why sandwich sub lovers would like this place, let me cut it to you: Thumbs up: -friendly staff, good c.s. -pretty fast service considering they cut their meat fresh -they slice their deli meat fresh, 'nuff said -variety Thumbs down: -not much for vegetarians like me -sad veggie wrap, not much veggies in them I wouldn't go back because I don't like the product they offer, but I would recommend to a friend who appreciates subs.

Hands down, Kramarczuk's has the best food in Minneapolis! An old, Eastern European restaurant…read morewith a separate bakery attached to it. Has an iconic 50's vibe where wood paneling and booths are king. You order from the counter, pay at the cashier and find a table to consume delicacies made for kings. The Polish Pierogies are amazing a stuff full of meat and tender beyond belief. The Hungarian Goulash is amazing with tasty chunks of beef that is both tender and flavorful coupled with veggies that melt in your mouth. The Cabbage rolls are also very hefty and packed full of flavor. The only complaint (not really) is the huge amount of choices readily available for diners. Making decisions and controlling oneself will prove very difficult. The bakery is heavenly with fruit filled Danishes that caress the taste buds. The highlight is the Napoleanka Custard cake/pie which is one of the best tasting desserts known in history! The flaky crust coupled by the enormous amount of custard filling makes this an impossible item to resist. Kramarczuk's is a staple and cannot be missed!

It was everything we expected and more. 2 friends joined us and between the 4 of is we ordered most of the menu and enjoyed everything, no notes! Our favourites: cabbage roll, the grinder, beet salad, German potato salad and the Kramarczuk Torte. Will be back for sure!

I love myself a cheesesteak and I wanted to see if this would be a new favorite I'd enjoy wearing out. They loaded this sandwich with onions, green peppers, and mushrooms. They added some of their pasta sauce on the bottom as well. The sandwich was good, but I thought it needed a bit more flavoring/spices. The bread was some of the softest I've experienced though and the cheese was a good amount. The combo was paired with a pickle spear and a bag of potato chips. This may sound strange, but can potato chips steal the show? Because they did. Super crunch and salty. Yum-O! I tried their coleslaw too and it seemed like to sat there awhile. It was tasteless and I ended up throwing the pint out. I will say the staff here are very friendly and helped me decide on some sandwiches and gave me an honest review of their favorites and least favorites. I appreciate that. I'm sure those chips will bring me back in the future and I'll be open to trying another sandwich.

We've only had lunch here but I hear the breakfast is just as good, especially the hash browns and tomato jam. We've had the Pool and Yacht, Raffi Luigi and the Gigi. Incredible! Their chicken salad is pulled chicken with white and dark meat, herbs and pepperoncini, etc. Really love it. The Giardinera is nice because it's almost blitzed in a food processor so it's smaller and doesn't fly out of the sandwich when you bite into it. They don't overdo the sauces either. Just enough on the sandwiches. The only downfall is that some things can be spicy, especially the potato salad. Like really spicy. So much so it's all you taste. That won't stop me from going back though. I crave a sandwich the minute I'm done. The grill area in particular stood out to me with its wide range of choices. It's not just sandwiches either; they've got a whole selection that would please pretty much any craving. One thing to note: you order your food, get a receipt, and then head to the front to pay. A little different from your typical setup, but it works. I went with the steak cheese steak, and it did not disappoint. It was hearty, flavorful, and just the right amount of food for one person. This was that such night! The Awaijane family has brought their family tradition in great Lebanese cuisine since 1973 and maintained by their children generation after generation, and through their fresh grape leaves, perfectly pan baked Kibbeh (OMG and the raw!!!!), lemon kissed Tabbouleh, & authentically cured Labneh, we intended to take it to go but it was so irreisistable we sat down and ate half of it on site. Don't let the quaint store front on University pass you by, the the truly authentic food amaze you, and the family friendly service bring you back!

How is it that I have never reviewed Emily's before now? I have been a loyal customer for over 30…read moreyears and have always enjoyed this small, yet mighty restaurant. For ambiance, well, let's say it's authentic in types of a typical Middle Eastern Restaurant that is in the Middle East (not the US) meaning that it is sparse. Whatever, that's not why you come here. There used to be a woman who occupied one table peeling about 10,000 garlic cloves. Again, typical (sadly, I have not seen her lately). Service is good. There are not very many tables, so it's not much of a challenge to see the entire restaurant at one time. However, they are attentive and happy to answer all questions. Food: This is why you here. They literally (and I do mean literally) have the best Tabouli salad I have ever tasted anywhere in the world. The menu says it is made fresh every day and it is. Freshness is the absolute key to good tabouli and if it's not fresh, it's not worth eating. Let me say this again: This is the BEST tabouli you can find and if you think you don't like tabouli, at least give theirs a try. But Emily's has much more than tabouli. I love their lamb shish kabob. If you are not a fan of lamb, their chicken kabob is also excellent. Both of them come with an excellent rice pilaf. Pro Tip: You can get a full portion that comes with soup or salad, just a skewer, or half a skewer. Their humus is good, but perhaps not as favorable as other versions I've had. I can also vouch for their spinach pie, which is a great price too. And of course, you can't go wrong without a piece of baklava for dessert. They do have an upstairs eating area that is used for groups. I had not seen this until I went upstairs to use their restroom and saw it on the way. This is a neighborhood gem of a small, family owned quality restaurant. I hope they stay in business for another 50 plus years!

Now run by third-generation owners, it expanded to retailing fine wine and cheeses as well. I stopped in to buy some house gifts, and was pleasantly surprised by its very large selection of products, displayed in a way that it was enjoyable to do some 'window shopping'. In my case, I focused on the whiskey's and found what I was hoping for (from the Nikka distillery, a place I had visited a long time ago). But surprisingly it carried American made whiskey (in this case, from the Seattle area) for a price that was lower than what I had paid when actually visiting the distillery itself. I took the time to walk around a bit, noticing that they had an entire section devoted to just German and Austria wines. (Would have been shocked to find wines from Luxembourg, which is on my list). There were also a large beer refrigerated room, as big as any I've seen at big retailers. Of course, it had the beers from the Midwest that are hard to find where I live now (Leinenkugel, Hamm's, and Zywiec). Also noticed a small display of cigars, protected behind locked glass. Ended up getting two Westland Single Malt 750ml for $56.99 each. Checkout was identical to any large liquor store chain (like a grocery store checkout with employees who do checkout and are not really knowledgeable about the products sold).
