Absence of friendliness: I usually like Jimmy John's, but the experience at this location was genuinely disappointing. All four employees seemed completely uninterested in being friendly or even minimally polite. I asked the sandwich maker to surprise me with any sandwich he personally liked -- something good, something he'd recommend. His response was, "I don't eat the food here. In fact, I don't eat at all." That was... not helpful. I wasn't asking for anything complicated, just a little effort or a suggestion. I even told him I would've paid extra for a great sandwich if he'd just made something he liked. And then to get a funny look because I didn't tip? I didn't ask for table service -- I just wanted a sandwich. A tip is optional, not mandatory, especially when there's no effort made to help the customer in the first place. To top it off, when the transaction was done, there was no "thank you," no "have a nice day," nothing. Just took my money in silence and walked away. A little friendliness goes a long way. The Jersey Mike's RDU tour continues with a visit to the location on Edwards Mill. I ordered online using the app and got the Big Kahuna with extra meat and grilled portobello mushrooms. I usually show up five minutes before the time I'm given and the food is always ready. This time was no exception! Steaming hot goodness with melted cheese! There are no other words to describe the flavor except amazing! It's the same no matter the location I visit. Always fast; always hot and flavorful. I cannot ask for anything more. read more

Location was very unsanitary and customer service was very poor. When making our sandwich, the employee placed half of our bread on a surface that had lots of buildup (ex. stickiness and crumbs) from previous orders. We asked whether the surface was clean for our bread to be placed on it and were met with an attitude saying they had a big rush order before us. The employee proceeded to wipe the surface without using sanitary solution on the rag and asked us in a disrespectful tone if we would like the sandwich to be remade, without answering our question. We simply asked for the halve of the bread to be replaced with a new piece. Again, he disregarded our question and asked us if we wanted a new sandwich to be made. Ordered a number 8, supposed to come with Bacon. They NEVER put bacon on my sandwich even after specifically telling them that I want it with the bacon. They act like it's optional when the sandwich description specifically says bacon and they don't put bacon on it. I even told the guy making my sandwich "YES to MAYO and BACON" then I turn around to pay for my order and when I get home i have got no mayo and bacon after specifically requesting and paying for it. What is wrong with this store? This has happened multiple times at this store. I will not spend any more money at this store in the future. My visit before today and the food was not ready. It wasn't even cooked, and I showed up slightly past my promised time, and the store was not busy. Everyone was more concerned about a leak from the ceiling. Only one person needs to worry about it, not 5! Today, they were out of bread unless I wanted my sandwich done on mini's. Said bread would be ready in 20 minutes. That was a lie. Hubby is in the store now waiting with far more patience than I, and it's not my sandwich that is waiting for the bread. I'm giving 2 stars, 1 for the taste of my sub, the other because I didnt have to wait long for it. I ordered ahead today on the app specifically to avoid spending much time inside. I was greeted by a rude teenager who spent more time scolding people about masks than focusing giving great customer service. I overheard him greet a guy about a pickup and then told him he needed a mask to be inside but quickly asked him his name. The man stated he had a medical exemption and the employee didn't seem to listen to the gentleman or care. My advice to this location is to actually put the subs on the table for to go orders or offer to take these out for curbside pickup instead of harassing people and myself having to listen to it. Ok. I love jersey mikes. But this one sucks. They overcharged me and refused to make it right. It's only $2 but it's the principle. Long story short. Ordered regular sub with double meat. Double meat for a regular sub is $2 more. They double charged me the $2. When I said hey , you charged me twice , he said yeah. We charge two times for double meat. So my regular sub is about $14. Ok ... why is it that every other jersey mikes I get the same thing for $2 less. It's because they don't overcharge me by double billing me. When I said that's not right can I speak to someone else , another guy pipes up yeah that's right. We charge twice. I could see for a giant sub charging twice for it but not a regular. And this is the only location that has done that to me. As a side note , they'll talk shit about you when you walk out because they don't seem to realize your coworkers are still in the store. Jersey Mikes is good...when they have products in stocks. I love the Portebello sandwich, but I like it as a wrap. I've found over the last couple of months that JM, at least the one closest to me (in Raleigh) doesn't have tortillas. If you're looking for regular sandwiches, Mikes makes a nice, fat sandwich that you can easily customize on their app. Pretty good stuff and better than some of the bigger chains. read more

Just an average stand in line, order a sub off a menu of 50+ combinations, add toppings from a limited offering, grab your chips and serve yourself a fountain drink. Pepsi products if it matters to you. You can get your sub in a tub--a salad instead of on bread. Lots of meat and cheese, but veggies limited to shredded iceberg, tomatoes, pickles, banana yellow peppers and jalapeños. Two of us had the combo: sub, chips and drink for over $25 with tax. No issue on food but on whoever was working today. Placed an online order and came to pick up and called to see if they would do curbside as I had 2 screaming hungry kids in the car, employee said only if I had ordered on the app, I said I was unsure and he said he couldn't help even after locating my order than he couldn't bring it out because I didn't do it on the app ( I had already left a tip by the way). Brought the 2 kids inside and still an employee was useless on helping us locate the order. A simple act of service to help a mom would have gone a long way. Will not return. read more

Went in on a Tuesday at 6:45. Only 2 other customers in the store and they were just sitting at a table- no food. Find out they are waiting on bread to come out of the oven. No problem, I want a sub in a tub. One look at the slicer and I really considered leaving. It was filthy. Couldn't have been cleaned all day. Then I look at the glass shield and it has stuff caked on the glass, crumbs all around the counter... just not a good first impression. Salad was good - just can't get over the visual. There's no table service. You don't bring refills. I clean my own table.For this reason I will not visit a Jersey Mike's again. It's very inappropriate to shove a screen in my face asking for tip. The cashier wouldn't even look up at me. I dont like being made to feel guilty for not tipping. Store is always clean , Staff always polite and friendly , food is good even tho as others have mentioned the bread can be a issue at times in regards to freshness . I've ordered from here several times, usually at night. I now know to NEVER ordered during lunch. Worst experience I've ever had at a Jersey Mike's. I place my order online, like I always have. It says it will be ready in 20 minutes. I arrived 18 minutes after I placed the order. They told me they were working on it and it was almost ready. There were 6 people in line. It was around 1:35pm so they were still a little busy from lunch and I understood. I sat down and waited. After completing every single order of the 6 customers in line they began working on my online order which was placed now, 45 minutes prior. Another customer walks in and they stop making mine to begin and complete that order as well. When I get home to serve the subs I realize that half of the order was wrong. COMPLETELY DISSATISFIED. NEVER GO THERE DURING LUNCH. I thought the point of online ordering was to ensure a timely 'ready when you arrive' kind of meal but apparently not at the Edwards Mill Jersey Mike's. read more

The staff is super friendly and always have smiles on their faces. They're such a joy to talk to and get my order right every time (sometimes I don't even need to tell them, they just know!)
