I would NOT recommend this Oxon hill store if you DO NOT EAT PORK!!! Even if you do. I went to this store for dinner last night. I asked the the server can he clean the slicer because I don't eat pork he acknowledged it but when I went down to next person to get my condiments, I notice he never cleaned it off. So I told the cashier I don't want that because he didn't clean it first. So canceled so cold subs & ask for 3 steak and cheese but once they were done they cut the cheese on the meat slicer!! My FIRST time going here thanks to a post I saw. I got the Number 8 on rosemary bread, added pepperoni, Mike's Way, mayo, mustard, cherry pepper relish and banana peppers. The sub wasn't bad, but the bread was hard, I mean hard, Lol. Again, this is my first time and I felt rushed with there only being one person behind me, which I offered to go in front of me. 3 people makes your order, while I'm at the first person, the third (cashier) is asking if I want chips and drink while the first Lady is talking to me. Now I'm at the second lady and she asked if I wanted it "Mikes way". I asked what it was and she taps the glass, Smh! I'm confused for a hot second til I notice the paper explaining what it is. I agree to it as I'm trying to see what other condiments are available, number 3 is asking if I want chips and drink! Can I finish this part first?! I'm originally from New England and now live on FL. I travel for work and JM's is a definite hit at home and during my travel. I went into to location at 6017 Oxon Hill Road in Oxon Hill MD tonight. Very disappointing visit....! Started with weird conversation about what I wanted from a guy not even in correct location to take my order. He started making my giant 13 and only put 5 slices of meat on the sub and one was already pre-sliced. Before he was done the next person grabbed the other half and asked if I wanted Mayo, I said yes, really light please. Then I asked for relish as well and he said " really " which I replied " YES ". He asked what toppings I wanted and I told him. He then asked me again after each topi he put on " anything else ", which I replied with the next item EACH TIME. When he was done I asked for mushrooms. He looked at me like I had three heads. He had to ask someone if they do that. After putting the mushrooms on he started to flip the sandwich together and I said " I would also like oregano, salt n pepper. He got angry cause he already flipped it together. Now, instead of him wrapping it he slid it to the cashier. ( the same person cashing people out ) I asked him to wrap the two halves separate and I got a look...... I mentioned that I wanted to eat half here and take the rest to go. I put in my info and cashed out. I have enough points for a couple subs but was never asked if I wanted to use my points. I didn't, but not the point. I then turned to sit down. Out of the 5 tables available 4 were dirty except for the one that an employee was sitting at I guess on his break. This Jersey Mike's is new and just opened. The staff was still training when I went in but they were all very friendly and made sure to make sure all the customers were satisfied. It was also nice to see the franchise owners working alongside their staff and getting to know people who live in the community. I had a coupon for a regular sub for $5, and while I normally get the turkey and provolone, I decided to try the Mike's Famous Philly. I ordered the sub on a rosemary Parmesan roll with peppers, extra onions, extra Mayo, lettuce, tomato, and hot peppers. I ordered takeout and it took about 10 minutes to make. I love the way the employees work together and flow in sync to assist each other with such a spirit of teamwork and collaboration to providing excellent and friendly customer service. The employees were so polite and patience especially while I placing 3 orders, one-reading from a text, one order by phone and my own order. PATIENCE and yet so friendly are the employees.
