I started the review the day this actually happened but never finished it. This actually took place in December of 2013. My sandwich was made and I was next in line to pay . In fact.... I was the only customer in the store other than a woman buying a few gift cards in front of me. The owner himself was taking care of her transaction, and I was patiently waiting. The owner was having difficulty getting the register to validate the gift cards. A couple minutes turned into 5 then 10..... And I'm was still standing there just waiting to pay for my sandwich. It turns out this woman knows the parents of the store owner and it now turned into a huge reunion ... and all i wanted to do was pay for my sandwich!!!! Long story short, the store owner finally got the transaction to go through... handed the woman her gift cards and a stack of coupons for his shop and off she went. He then looked at me, offered no apologies for the wait or even offered me a single coupon.. He then called over another employee to check me out and walked away!!! Excellent customer service... Great subs. I placed an order online. A "giant" italian sub with all the fixins. They were not kidding about GIANT. It was huge. I thought it would be like a 12" from Subway but it was easily double that. All of the ingredients were fresh. We also had the pastrami Reuben. I actually ordered this by accident and was not disappointed. Normally I wouldn't dare eat a Reuben on anything but rye bread but this was very good. Prices weren't bad. $22 for a regular and a GIANT giant sub. One might say this is a lot of money for sandwiches but it could have fed 3 people so not bad. I will def try more subs here. read more

Booooom!, they put a Jersey Mike's in Norwalk. You know why JM's is so great? NO SHORTCUTS! They slice everything fresh per order, which really makes a difference when tasting a sub. They also know HOW to make a sandwhich, with an equal amount of the ingredients on all parts. Not like some other places, that just throw all the toppings on, and hope it lands somewhere on the bread. Is it really that difficult to make sure 10 pickles are distributed evenly across a sub, not just on the last bite? JM's proves that it is possible. I guess all those other chains are sandwhich challenged. If they ask you if you want it "mikes way", the answer should usually always be, YES!. No freebie here. My 6" ham and provolone wedge was ordered on June 2, 2019 online to be delivered by DoorDash. Order came quickly but ... slice of ham and a slice of cheese was all that was on it ($8.40 price online menu). There was no lettuce, no tomato, no onion and no oil and vinegar, No anything. When it arrived it was shoved into my hands and off deliverer flew. This naked order wound up costing me on my credit card $16.47, quite an astronomical price for nothing. After running errands all day I wanted a quick yet tasty lunch. Looked this place up since I was in the plaza and based on the reviews I decided to try it out! It was delicious! I ordered the Original Italian. The girl said if I would like it "Mikes way" but that threw me off because I had no idea what it meant so I went ahead and just put whatever toppings I could see. The meat was freshly sliced and tasted amazing and the bread tasted fresh! The mini was more than enough to fill me up. All in all it was amazing. I'm not a big fan of their subs. They are pretty tiny for the amount that you pay for. They don't have many toppings either. I would like it if they added some extra house sauce or anything to make their subs stand out. All in all the subs are bland. I definitely have had better. Where do I start? These sandwiches are delicious! You actually TASTE the ingredients! And the bread is super-fresh! Mike's is not about volume (as Subway is). I'd rather have a tasty, fresh sandwich--than one just loaded up with ingredients (Subway). I actually drive from Stamford to Norwalk for their sandwiches. (I couldn't tell you how many Subway chains I pass along the way!) And the staff is "well spoken" and friendly too. The entire outfit is much more upscale than Subways. Although less selection of fixings--I don't mind that. Their Mike's special ingredients has enough flavor to carry through any sandwich. We have been here twice. The first time a couple of weeks ago, service was great. Subs were good. Just brought the whole family here tonight, 2 out of the 4 subs were wrong. One of which they noticed when it was served, the other one (no tomatoes) was just easier to pick them out. Especially after the rude service from the cashier. We had chips and a drink but were charged the regular price, not the combo. After bringing it to his attention, his was response first was, "it's the same price". Which it wasn't. So after entering the restaurant i was greeted with such high energy. This is my second time there, this time a guy says hows your day? To which I replied, pretty crappy! Connecticut has no idea what a Philly Cheese Steak or any good Italian sandwich is. REALLY? If you are a foodie, which most folks are - stop consuming mediocre calories from a place like this. They don't even make their bread or fill a sandwich properly. Slim pickins' here and most places for a good sandwich in Norwalk!! Just like we recently sprung ahead our clocks, i feel as if i was sprung into the future with the taste sensations i've never experienced tickling my tongue as i bit into the #9 Sub from Jersey Mike's. This chain has been around many years, but it is truly the quality of the products that make it feel less like a chain and more like a locally run deli. Freshly cut meats and cheeses that are sliced to order, bread dressed with care in "Mike's Way" (crisp lettuce, tomato, thin sliced onion, oil, vinegar and oregano), and additional choices of hot pepper varieties -- what could be bad? The logo says that they have been around since 1956, and I've been around a few years longer than that. This reminds me of the way sandwiches, heroes, hoagies, subs, wedges used to be when I was a kid -- REALLY to order. Not sure what it is in the oil and vinegar, but something in the combination makes the mouth water. I ordered a giant #13 -- The Original Italian -- and it was superb.
