I'll admit it, I completely overlooked this place for years. I live maybe seven minutes away, but I usually avoid the Mineral Spring area if I can. For whatever reason, I also lumped Jersey Mike's into the same category as Subway, which I haven't eaten at in years. That assumption kept me from ever giving it a chance. I was wrong. After a long day at work, I wasn't in the mood to cook, and I didn't feel like sitting down at a restaurant either. I wanted something quick that actually tasted fresh, so I decided to stop in and finally see what all the fuss was about. The first thing I noticed was how clean and quiet the restaurant was. I was greeted the moment I walked through the door, and everyone behind the counter was genuinely friendly. There was plenty of conversation and joking around, but they never lost focus on what they were doing. It made the place feel welcoming instead of feeling like another fast food stop where everyone is just counting the minutes until the end of their shift. Watching the sandwiches being made right in front of you is part of the experience. Everything looked fresh, the ingredients were piled on generously, and nothing felt like it had been sitting around. The sandwich itself was excellent. Fresh bread, quality meats and toppings, and portions that actually leave you full. It was simple, but done well. The prices are reasonable for what you get, especially considering the quality. It's also in a convenient location that's easy to get to, although I could see the parking lot getting a little tight during the lunch rush or busier times of the day. What surprised me most was how quickly this place moved onto my regular rotation. It's exactly the kind of restaurant you want after a long day when the last thing you feel like doing is cooking. Coming here to say the food and service is top notch! I love the freshness of the subs. They slice the ingredients right in front of you! The management team here is also very helpful and professional! They had to deal with an irate and ignorant customer this afternoon. He decided it was appropriate to put his hands over the glass and point at what he wanted on his subs. Gross, dude. He didn't communicate with the staff well and blamed them for his mistakes, including the new employee that was training. He acted incredibly out of line, raising his voice and becoming belligerent towards everyone behind the counter. The management team handled this situation perfectly. This guy was a total fucking asshole and I hope he never returns to any Jersey Mikes location ever again! Pricks like that guy, they don't deserve to eat at establishments where they throw a hissy fit. Acting like this in a time where everyone has the capability to record video and audio with their phones is just foolish. I love hot grilled subs and Jersey Mike's does a great job. They have a large selection of options, even vegetarian ones. I am partial to the Philly cheesesteak ones. I love the taste of melted cheese on nicely marinated steak slices. I stopped at this Jersey Mike's and the guy behind the counter was really nice, pleasant and quick making my order. So, we have been ordering from here since it opened. We typically get two giant subs and one regular. One of the giants is gluten free bread. $70 for the typical order. Only to be treated like garbage. We picked up our order today and a girl who came over to us was so rude and barked "name?" And the then just about threw our order at us. Just no sense of how to treat customers. I hope the owner sees this. And to top it all off, the sandwiches are small and sloppy. We get extra meat in ours yet it doesn't look like extra meat. I am going to take my business somewhere else who can make proper sandwiches and treats customers with respect. None of this millennial garbage. The first time I visited I had some questions about the sandwiches. The young man sharply directed me towards the menu on the wall and suggested with attitude that I look at it. On a follow up visit, I got several sandwiches to go. When I arrived home were not made the way I asked. It contained ingredients that I did not want in the sandwich. It was late and cold outside and I tried calling the store to see if I could get a credit or come back another time. No one answered the phone, so I had to go back to the store. If I'm ever in the mood for a hoagie I usually come to a Jersey Mike's or a Firehouse subs they make pretty tasty sandwiches so can't really go wrong with this location I use the app to order ahead of time and they did have a pickup. At another time I did order at the counter and it took way longer. I think this storefront does better with the apps. When it comes to sub chains, Subway is (relatively) cheap, but boring. D'Angelo is relatively pricey, but quality has fallen off over the years. And, I'm not impressed with the local Ricotti's. That leaves the relative newcomer, Jersey Mike's, and it was time I finally met the new kid on the sandwich block, so to speak. Today's work flow called for a slightly early lunch; I arrived around 11:30 a.m. and was promptly greeted when I entered this Jersey Mike's. I was impressed by the speed at which the young man sliced the meats and made my sandwich, and his female coworker showed equal hustle at the register. Both were very polite and enthusiastic. I also noticed that everything appeared clean. I chose a medium sized Italian grinder, getting it to go. Everything - including bread, meats, cheese and vegetables - was fresh and of good quality. This sandwich easily outclassed the aforementioned sub chains, and was reasonably priced at $8.65. It also sat well with me after eating it. It was easily a 4-star sandwich, although the bread kept it out of 5-star territory. The bread was too soft for my liking, and a bit too thin, although it did have a well-balanced meat/bread/topping ratio. Still, it was darn good for a chain restaurant, and I would definitely return to try some of their other sandwiches. As with the sandwich, service was above-average. When I informed the employees that the soap dispenser in the men's bathroom was nearly empty, both acknowledged that information in a way that seemed sincere enough that I believed someone would refill it ASAP, and not just pay lip service. read more

All hail Jersey Mikes! I didn't realize this was a chain, but I don't care, their subs are goooooood. I especially like the tuna sub "mike's way" which is basically some oil & vinegar plus some herbs. It really adds a lot. I've also had the chicken caesar wrap and the ham & cheese melt wrap w/ the chipotle mayo and they're wicked good too. Sometimes I go there and the service is top notch. Today, it was absolutely awful. They close at 9, I walked in at 8:20. The open sign was off, I could see the guys behind the counter rolling their eyes. Wow rocket science! Nope just how you should make a great sandwich. Been here about 5 times, hope to go 5 more. Tip: a regular size sub is plenty, a mini just enough for lunch. Now I am not the biggest steak 'n cheese fan, so I don't have much to compare to. But I am a big Jersey Mike's fan. I heard about this place from a friend and then I went for lunch in between classes. They have something called a Chipotle Steak and Cheese which is amazing. Just thinking about it makes me want one. If I were to think of all the sandwiches i've ever eaten this would definitely be top 5. Inside is nice, and I've never seen it crowded. Everything looks very clean. One thing that earned huge points for me was the service. Everyone i've seen in here is very nice. Tried it once with a small group out of desperation. This is a mega-chain serving flavorless meats on bread that was made from old RIPTA seat cushions. They make a big deal out of slicing the meat. How slicing meat that's 70% water can have an effect on the flavor makes no f*cking sense. The meatball sub (which is blander than the worst meatloaf you've ever had) is heated in a friggin microwave. Nice. This is a place that's great for folks who are tired of Subway. I would like to preface this by saying the best sub place in RI is by far Pawtucket House of Pizza, but now living in N, Providence, it is too out of the way for a quick bite. So in comes Jersey Mikes. I walked in expecting the usually Subway type blah.. but it wasn't. Fresh baked bread, meats (cooked in house) and sliced to order.. for each sandwich.. no cold cuts that have been pre sliced at some giant factory and sat around for who know how long... and fresh looking toppings.... the best being a delicious and spicey red pepper relish. I have had a number of subs from here.. my favs are the steak and cheese with chipotle mayo and jalapenos.. so good... the roast beef is tasty, and of course the italian with red pepper relish is legit. So.. stop in grab a sub and enjoy. Oh, and the staff is great, and the place is always spotless. I have found the thing to order here - roast beef! They cook their own so it's not some salty, grisly meat. It's lean, fresh and delicious! My go to is a giant roast beef with mayo, lettuce, and tomato on wheat. It's big enough to get 2 meals out of it. Walked in to order a sandwich on Dec 3rd around 12:45. Walked over to the counter to order and was told to move to the spot that says order here which was 2 feet to my left, lol. Then was rudely told not to put my arm on the glass, Ok so I did and ordered my sandwich. 15 minutes go by and I'm watching people who ordered after me receive their order. I go up to the counter and ask about the status of my sandwich, counter help says "did you pay yet?" I said not yet. So I paid. 10 minutes more go by and I inquire about my sandwich again. She says it's on the grill now. I look over to the grill, nothing on the grill. I asked for a refund. 25 minutes of waiting and walked out without a sandwich. Absolutely horrible and rude franchise location. Emailed the general manager and he responds with a free sub offer. Really? I'll never go back there again. read more

Jersey Mike's Subs is the absolute jackpot for lunch. There are not many reviews on here (yet!!) but they were all 5 stars...and I can absolutely see why. The counter is set up like a deli, everything waiting to be fresh sliced just fro your order. The bread is fresh baked and dropped off in the morning, and anything pre-made (ie, tuna & chicken salads) is always tasty. All subs come 'Mikes Way', which includes vinegar and oils amongst other toppings. I don't know where vinegar has been all my life, but it is simply amazing. read more

The sandwich was very good and tasty. It gives the appeal of being a fresher sandwich, when the cold cuts are sliced in front of you. My complaint stems from the fact that the gentleman who made my sandwich also operated the register with the same rubber latex gloves he used to make my sandwich. What is the point of wearing rubber latex gloves to make a sandwich, if you are also going to use the same gloves to operate the register? It was not terribly busy, where he forgot to take the gloves off / he was rushing to keep the line manageable. In addition, very few of the tables were cleaned for other patrons. I came into Jersey Mike's for my first time after getting my nails done next door. Upon walking in the majority of the staff was in the back room and were chatting amongst themselves. I waited a bit, and 1 person out of the 4 came out. I ordered a small turkey and cheese with lettuce, pickles, and tomato. They sliced the turkey in front of me, which was pretty cool as that typically doesn't happen when you visit other sub places. The person who came out to help me was still trying to be involved in the convo in the back so as opposed to listening to me, he decided to continue chiming in on the convo. The sub was ok, but tasted a little off. I'm not sure if they were wiping the meat slicer with a less than clean rag or if it was the pickles... but not as tasty or fresh as i expected. Big fan of Jersey Mike's. I have tried restaurants cheesesteaks around here and nothing comes close to what is in Philly. Jersey Mike's thank god specializes in cheesesteaks. They add some nice touches to the cheesesteak that put their mark on their sandwiches. I am talking about the Chipotle Cheesesteak with chipotle mayo and the Big Kahuna with jalaps and more cheese!
