Crazy that I've really never tried Jersey Mike's, but the hubs randomly suggested that I try the #42 -- Chicken Philly (and one of his favorite lunch orders) and I wasn't disappointed. The sandwich was pretty tasty. I also like that they have Stubborn soda here! (Never knew JM's carried it!) That's a great draw for me to return. Fun fact and for those that don't know: Stubborn soda is made with natural flavors and without High Fructose Corn Syrup (which is huge), artificial sweeteners, and Azo Dyes-- and equally as important, it tastes good! Let's get to it. I don't usually do sandwiches especially on Sunday. (It's a southern thang). But today, I'm out and in rush so I dropped in on Mike, Jersey Mikes. So, the good is the sandwich. I got the#55, Big Kahuna Chicken Cheese Steak. It was delicious! Fresh bread, grilled chicken, real chicken and the extras made this a sandwich one to remember. The bad: Customer service. The order taker was dry. He seemed irritated, well, was irritated. I was third in a line eight and dapper delivery and Waitr we're there to pickup. I waited 20 minutes for my sandwich, 20 minutes. Delivery is first in line over in house customers. Yep, delivery. After the long wait, I get a "Sorry for the wait". All in all, I might do it again. The sandwich was good, yeah, it was really good. Horrible. This is the 3rd time to this location- same story different day. Cant keep stock, understaffed and horrible wait times with mediocre service. I wanted a ham and cheese wrap, waited in line for 20 minutes, ordered, waited again and then told we are out of wraps! 25 minutes in line for nothing- AGAIN! Had lunch here yesterday with a couple of my co-workers. They have a lot of great choices, both hot and cold subs. The reason for five stars? They'll also make you things that aren't on the menu. I just wanted a pastrami sandwich. Cheese, pickles and mustard and the even grilled it. It was made quickly, exactly what I wanted and tasted delicious. This Jersey Mike's location is one of my favorite places to go for a quick sub lunch or dinner. I always get the turkey on wheat and I have it Mike's Way with mayo, mustard and hot pepper relish added. My son gets the meatball sub and he always loves it. It was pretty busy coming into this restaurant around 11:10am. I ordered their famous Philly Cheese sandwich with onions and peppers. I must say, I was not disappointed. They made my sandwich pretty quick and it was still steaming hot till the very last bite. I can thank my brother for referring me here, it's a great place for subs that's for sure. I got the #17 (original Philly) on white bread. Deliciousness. Hubs got the #56 Cheese Steak w peppers, onions, mushrooms, and jalapeños on Parmesan rosemary bread. He loved his as well. Hubby and I dined in last night at Jersey Mike's. Neither one of us had ever been to one, so I can't compare it to past experience. First impression was how clean it was! The staff greeted us immediately and we took our time picking the right sandwich. We got a hot Philly Cheesesteak and a hot Chicken Bacon Ranch. Wow, the size of the regular is BIG and loaded. Reminded me of Parkway Tavern in NOLA when you order a shrimp po-boy and they put so much on the bread that the shrimp cascade out of the sandwich! Best advice is to make sure you are hungry before you try this one out! Sandwiches tasted fine! We will go again. read more

I ordered the regular and thought they had made a mistake on the size! The beef was lean and there was no skimping on that, as well as the other ingredients. Hardly anyone was in the store when I visited, but I stood in line waiting to place my order for five minutes. One of the employees, who had been sitting around when I entered, eventually got up and started taking orders from the people behind me in line. Dear 16-18 y/o dark haired boy working the after church shift on 2/25/18: I hope the 2 seconds of time you saved by not getting the gluten free loaf of bread was worth my next WEEK of stomach cramps. Having celiac, which is an AUTOIMMUNE DISEASE wherein my body LITERALLY ATTACKS ITSELF, I have very few options of where to eat out. I had a sandwich from here a few weeks ago and it was fine; nothing to write home about, and they forgot a few of the vegetables i had asked for but like i said, limited options; beggars can't be choosers. I am not bringing my business here again after today. I ordered online and called to confirm that I purchased the GF bread, as "normal" bread would make me very ill. I paid online, and had to WAIT IN LINE, even though the internet assured me that I would be treated express; got the sandwich and left. It only took me 2 bites to realize what was wrong, and I went back. I told the person who took my money what happened; he looked at a young, dark haired boy and said "was [this online sandwich] made on gluten free bread?" and I kid you not he SCOFFED and said no...so, I got my money back and left. i've already vomitted twice, and that's just the beginning of my symptoms. My mother and I went here for lunch last week and we were very impressed. The woman behind the counter was a sweetheart and even offered us suggestions on what to get. We've given this sorry excuse for a sub shop a total of 4 chances to just do the basic minimum and create the sandwich listed on the menu and have yet to have anything correct. The whole point of a chain restaurant is to create consistent quality and taste no matter which location in the country you go to. Maybe they don't quite grasp that concept. The attitudes of the employees are far below even the minimum expectation for having a job. The girls act like they couldn't care less how long it takes to get the sandwich and if it's not right, then oh well. As another person put it, they act as if it's the last place they want to be. Each and every time we have to remind them to put the ingredients that are supposed to be included on the sandwich (ex: bacon on the club), or they didn't add a requested extra topping (ya know, mayo, lettuce...basic stuff). Even when management is present, they don't really seem to care if they're doing a good job or not. This last experience will be my last. The chicken on the chicken parm was hard, fatty and chewy. Absolutely disgusting. I had to take the sandwich back and get a refund, not even interested to see how bad they can manage to throw together a new one. My advice would be go to one of the other sandwich shops in town, or Newks across the street is good, and for about the same price you get much better quality. read more

Okay, first time there I got the Chicken Parm in a giant size. It was okay, my daughter liked it more than me. Today I went there and ordered a giant #13 for myself and a regular Chicken Parm for her. I get home and so much vining at and oil was used it was soggy like a dog pissed on the bread. I saw that this was a new sub shop in town and decided to give it a try. I ordered the club sub and the beef philly cheese steak online. Online ordering process was smooth. When I got there my order was ready, just had to no less than a minute to pay. While there I saw one of the sub-makers drowning a sub with the oil and vinegar. I was thinking in my mind " I hope she didn't make my sub." Got home and my club sub seemed like it had a whole bottle of oil/vinger on it. Sub was so wet and oily I could not eat or hold the sub. My wife enjoyed the philly steak sub. I'll give this place another try since I know it just opened. Hope my experience is better next time. read more

Today was my first experience with Jersey Mikes and I will have to say "Never Again". First off the food is over priced for what you get and the restaurant was dirty. I've been to Jersey Mike's a lot in other states but now Mobile finally gets one. I'm a vegetarian so I only order the veggie sub and it's as good here in Mobile as it is any where else if not better. Subway is boring and bland, Firehouse is not an option and Jimmy Johns is just nasty and poorly made, just because it's fast doesn't mean its good. All it means is you just got a bad sub REAL QUICK. All the places I've just named can all take notes on cleanliness from Jersey Mike's. The place is clean, good and it just light years beyond other sandwich/sub shops in the area. First time trying this sub chain, and of the sub shops I frequent, this one is a tie for 4th place in Mobile. Staff seemed new, there is an option to add tip when using a debit card, and the girl fixing subs hovered over me till I made a selection. I was afraid I'd get skimped on food if I didn't tip. So I gave 10%. And I got 10% satisfaction. I worked in the food industry for 12 years, my father 38. I know all about pre-portioning, saving on food costs, and customer service. I ordered my wife a salad for $6.75. It was the size of a Wendy's side salad. I got a steak philly, son got a chicken. Another 2 family members got same as us. No drinks or sides. So 1 salad 4 subs, reg size, not giant, cost with tax and 10% tip, $43.00. This place will be closed within a year if this keeps up.
