We also grabbed some potato salad and pasta salad from the refrigerator case - both were excellent. I always worry about the potatoes being undercooked in deli potato salad, but these were perfect. I had my eye on some stools at the counter, but the weather was too glorious to sit inside so we snagged one of a handful of picnic tables adjacent to the parking lot. The hot pressed French Onion Grilled Cheese had provolone, gruyere, caramelized onion jam between buttered slices of brioche. The sweet and savory flavors hit the mark. The hot pressed Pastrami Panini had thin slices of deli pastrami, dijon, gruyere, pickled onion between crisp slices of marble rye. This sandwich was also very good. I also realize that everything is made from scratch. But I don't know of any establishment that makes grilled cheese sandwiches ahead of time. Those are always made upon ordering, and it doesn't take over 45 minutes. This place can't handle live customers. They may be good with take-out, but every restauranteer knows the cardinal rule: you take care of the live customers first.
