There are so many things here that should have tipped him off to clarify and ask again about the BBQ sauce to be sure if he thought I ordered a smokin BBQ without BBQ sauce. That's apparently the new gold standard: basic functionality. Not accuracy, not courtesy--just temperature. What made it worse was the complete silence from management. The manager stood there and said absolutely nothing, allowing this tirade to continue unchecked. No intervention, no apology, no attempt to de-escalate--just a passive endorsement of behavior that drives customers away. The assistant manager, to their credit, was polite and seemed genuinely concerned, but clearly had no authority to fix what is obviously a deeply rooted cultural problem. If this is the experience they're comfortable delivering, then it's hard to argue they should stay in business at all. When a place not only fails at the basics but actively disrespects its customers, closing the doors might be the most honest service they could provide.
