This Jersey Mike's needs to do better with reading the mobile orders and their customer service. We ordered three grinders through the mobile app. One of them was a mini vegetable sandwich, one steak and cheese, and one BLT with no mayo. We got it home and the mini was actually a regular. They put mayonnaise all over the BLT. So we called back, they said that we had to bring the food back to prove to them that it was made incorrectly. So whatever because we were not going to eat it anyways, but I'm pretty sure it's a health code violation for them to ask for food to be brought back. We also let them know that all three of our sandwiches had extremely stale bread. They remade the BLT, but refused to do anything about the other two subs with the stale bread - which you could break a tooth on! To boot they were extremely rude. We asked to speak to a manager, but apparently they let a bunch of teenagers work at night with no manager on duty. read more

PROBLEM: After an apparent misunderstanding regarding an order, my wife returned 5" of a 6" sandwich that was not what we had ordered. My wife had tried to make the best of it and gave the sandwich a try, but couldn't eat the sandwich with all the wrong add-ons. The "gentleman" she spoke with kept asking, "Where's the rest of the sandwich? Why didn't you bring it back right away?" He kept treating my 74 year-old wife like a scam artist or criminal. Yup, for the 1" of missing sandwich. When my wife asked to talk to the manager, he said he was the manager. After a bit more dysfunctional exchange, he finally replaced the sandwich. But not without behaving in a disrespectful manner. SOLUTION: We normally spend about $20 a week at Jersey Mike's. No more. So, this "manager" just cost Jersey Mike's $1,000/year retail. I'd like to lead by explaining that this one-star review has nothing (NOTHING) to do with the staff. The staff here is REALLY nice. They were polite, funny, helpful, kind, and the sort of people you wish you encountered working at any restaurant. My issue with Jersey Mikes is really just a series of systemic problems. I'm guessing it's company-wide so I hate to pick on this one store, but c'est la vie. What it boils down to is that Jersey Mikes is essentially Subway except the quality is 50% greater, the sizes are 50% smaller, and the prices are almost double. If you're good at math you'll see that the price/size thing balance out, and ought not to result in a doubling of price, or you risk looking like an utter ripoff. For example - when I went to Jersey Mikes two days ago, I found the prices and sizes to be (roughly) as follows: $6.50 for a "mini" sub (3" wide, 4" long) $8.50 for a "regular" sub (3" wide, 6" long) $14.50 for a "large" sub (3" wide, 12" long) $3.00+ to add a tiny chip bag and small looking fountain drink I'm not sure if you can adequately picture in your minds eye the tinyness of these sandwiches. They're humorously small. They're small enough that when you see them, you wonder if the staff is confused about how to cut the bread properly... if you ordered them blind, you'd be angry when it showed up on your plate (if you had a plate, which you don't, because again this place is basically a Subway). The "mini" looks like something you'd give to a small child, and they'd still be hungry after eating it. The "regular' looks like 1/2 of a sub from an independent place. The "large" appears smaller than a Subway footlong. My first question upon viewing the menu was "Why are the hot subs only available in regular and large (aka $9 and $15, respectively) while the cold subs have mini as an option?" then the staff showed me the bread and I realized it probably wasn't worth the staffs time to try to fit, say, a half a meatball or 1/3 of a chicken tender on such a tiny roll. We ordered a "mini" cold sub, a "regular" hot sub, a single 22oz fountain drink and a single tiny bag of chips. It was $19.25... for about 10 inches of sandwich, one bag of chips and one small coke. My hot sub was a meatball; it seemed to have a single meatball in it, cut up and spread throughout - sloppy. My better half got an italian; it looked good, at least as far as the presentation and visual qualities of the meat went, but was miniscule in size. The bread, admittedly, seemed to be an improvement on what is usually found at chain sub shops, but it didn't make a big step toward justifying the pricing I've eaten a lot of subs in New Jersey. I don't know about Mike, but I know if I was trying to sell these tiny bastards down there (especially at these prices) I would get laughed at. This is marginally better Subway food, that's it. It's as good as the crummier of your handful local independent sub shops - this is New England after all. I don't understand your value proposition here. Sorry. You'll pardon us if we go LITERALLY ANYWHERE ELSE for our next subs... independent shop, chain, whatever. For that same $20 bill we can both eat a meal, rather than a kids meal and a snack, literally anywhere else. I hope that really hits home for you; if two adults go to Jersey Mikes, and each wants 1/2 of a normal sized sub, a tiny bag chips, and smallish coke, it's going to cost you about $30 after tax. That is INSANE. If an adult goes to Jersey Mikes looking for 3/4 of a normal sized sub, a tiny bag of chips, and a smallish coke, that's about $20. INSANE. LUDICROUS. Don't get me wrong, if this was an actual sit-down restaurant with table service MAYBE the pricing would be a little closer to on point... but even then, I'd think it misses the mark. This is a jazzed up Subway that costs a fortune; you walk in, you pick an overpriced sandwich or design your own at a little counter with lunch meats, and you pay and take it to a table wrapped up in paper and eat it over a plastic bag... oh, and you feel like you've been ripped off the whole way through. It's almost insulting. I was so happy to see Jersey Mike's was opening here. Being in Bristol, the selection of fresh subs is very limited. Especially with D'Angelo's closing their Bristol location. It's basically Subway, which I hate and Ricotti's which is so so. I love this place. Everything is made to order and fresh. Which is key when ordering a steak and cheese sub. Unlike Subway that microwaves their steak (yuck!) Jersey Mike's makes it right on the flat top. And it is definitely one of the best steak and cheese subs you can get. We had some complications when we were paying for our sandwiches, as we ordered 4 sandwiches but we were charged for 3. Not necessarily a problem for us (dont worry, we paid for the fourth) but I think that better organization is necessary for me to rate this tasty spot 5 stars. Especially because one of our sandwiches was wrong (receiving steak instead of chicken). Regardless of the mistakes that I expected for it being a new busy sandwich shop, the food itself was flavorful and tasty! I highly recommend the Famous Philly, I dont think you can top that cheese steak especially if you hit it up with some mayonnaise! Also, last night your employee Beth was berated by a crazy woman who had an issue with her order and decided that any and every option she was given to fix the issue wasn't enough, so she continued to verbally abuse Beth (who I see all there all the time and she's the nicest person and cares so much!) while everyone around her waited for her to be done. This location just opened. We ordered the #56 Big Kahuna Cheese Steak & #18 Chicken Parm. Upon unwrapping the subs I asked my husband WHY did he get 1/2 size subs ? Well...they weren't ! -their regular subs run very small compared to all other sub shops we go to and at a higher price. The chicken parmigiana was loaded... with sauce. I got 1/2 way through before I finally got a small bite piece of chicken. Then sauce... more sauce and finally one more bite of chicken. NEVER will I go here again. They messed up my order , when told it was wrong it was like , "What's the big deal?" Place is dirty inside, walked in with my girl friend for a quick bite after the gym (which is two stores down) could not find a clean seat. Three people were working, she ordered a steak and cheese ate a quarter of the sandwich to realize there were multiple pieces of hair in her sand which. First, I am a long time fan of the Raynham, MA location. I was thrilled to see that the Fall River location had opened up in the new Market Basket Plaza. Groceries, Starbucks and a great sub in the same plaza, love it! I'm giving this location a 5 start because while the employees are noticeably inexperienced, they are eager to get it right, enthusiastic and the owners were at the location the day I went actively training and moving the lunch line forward. The fact that they had a lot of employees working meant the slowness of each employee didn't impact the time it took to get a sub. The average Jersey Mikes only has 2-3 employees on at a time, but this location had at least 6 that I saw with 1/2 in training mode. Good luck guys, I hope you make this new location a huge success, also, my sub was delicious! I typically get the #8 giant and it lasts me 2 meals, the bread is hearty enough that you can eat the 2nd 1/2 the next day without it being soggy. Yum. read more
