I was really looking forward to a steak and cheese sandwich, but unfortunately this turned into one of the most uncomfortable restaurant experiences I've had in a long time. When I walked into the Jersey Mike's on Baltimore National Pike, there were three employees at the front. One young woman was cleaning the sandwich preparation area while the other two employees, a young woman and a young man were standing nearby. A fourth employee was in the back grilling and wasn't involved in what happened. I stood at the ordering counter for several minutes without anyone acknowledging me. It wasn't an incredibly long wait, but it was certainly long enough that I began wondering if I should just leave. During that time, no one said, "We'll be right with you," or even acknowledged that I was standing there. Then another customer walked in and was greeted almost immediately. Only after that did one of the young women ask if she could help me. She was standing near the register, so I walked over to her and placed my order. As I was standing by the register giving my order, the young woman who had been cleaning stopped what she was doing and walked back to the ordering counter where I had originally been waiting. She asked, "Can I help someone?" as though I hadn't already been standing there and placed my order. I walked back over to the ordering area, and she had me repeat my entire order from the beginning, even though I had just placed it moments earlier while she was standing only a few feet away. The interaction was extremely confusing and unlike anything I've experienced at a restaurant before. More than anything, it made me feel genuinely uncomfortable. At that point, I asked to speak with the manager, hoping he would listen to my concerns and help me understand what had happened. Unfortunately, his response felt apathetic and dismissive. There was no apology or attempt to understand why I felt so uncomfortable. In fact, he initially wanted to direct me back to the ordering area when I said (as he had been standing right there) I've already ordered. I was sharing a situation that Indidnt understand. When I asked for mayonnaise on the side, he simply tossed a packet into the bag. The entire interaction left me with the impression that he wasn't interested in my concern or issue. The one bright spot was the young woman who originally took my order and handled my payment. She was kind, apologetic, and even gave me a discount. I genuinely appreciated her professionalism and empathy. She was the only employee who made me feel like my concerns mattered. By the time I left, the experience had completely taken away my appetite. I ended up throwing the sandwich away without eating it and went somewhere else for dinner. This review isn't about waiting a few minutes. It's about how a customer is made to feel. A simple acknowledgment when I walked in, clear communication among the staff, and a manager willing to listen could have completely changed my experience. I've been going to Jersey Mike's for about two years now, and one of my favorite items is the mushroom, pepper, and onion sub. I order the Italian Sun (my way) and the Cheesesteak Sub. The sub meats are so fresh and delicious! The toppings are fresh which makes the subs superb! They spend time and love putting the subs together which adds to the beauty of your sandwich. It isn't sloppy but it is just right for good eating. I thought at Jimmy John the service is crazy fast. I experienced it myself at Snowden River Parkway, Columbia. But not this location. I ordered my sandwich online & had to wait for more than 15 minutes. Had I didn't ask for it no one is calling my name nor put my sandwich at the pick up shelf...what the heck?? I even late for my 2PM appointment because of it. There were only 1 black dude making the sandwich and 1 more in cashier taking order....how can 1 dude prepares orders lighting fast???? My girlfriend picked up two regular subs, with the Facebook coupon. I got the chicken cheese steak and she got a cold cut sub. I am well aware that this review is based on the food alone. But damn, I really miss Jerry's subs!!! My chicken cheese steak was a gooey mess, just how I like it, except....... The chicken was over cooked and dry as the Sahara desert, absolutely chewy and disgusting, as if they were chicken flavored Steak-ems!!! So instead I got half of my girlfriend's cold cut...... I've been here twice since they opened and I hope the service continues as is because it was great. We ordered during their fist week being open and everything was as we ordered it. We even got a free sandwich because they made an extra one by mistake. Second time we ordered catering boxes for a memorial we were having. They had everything ready when we picked it up. All the sandwiches were labeled and neatly packed. All the extras (napkins vinegar etc) were in the bag which isn't always the case these days. Overall we have been very happy with this location. Ive gone across the street to Jimmy John's and found the service to be horrible. So unless Jersey Mikes goes completely downhill we will be back. read more

Today was a really long day at work- it was busy from start to finish. The last thing I wanted to do was cook, so I went to this Jersey Mike to grab a sandwich on the way home. There is a where I encountered Nick! I received such a warm welcome from Nick who was preparing sandwiches behind the counter. He was so kind, attentive, and provided excellent customer service, not to mention a great smile! He was that way with every single customer. After receiving the wrong sub during a pickup order and not being refunded as promised, despite calling a total of three times about the problem over the past 2 weeks, we will not be returning to this Jersey Mike's, which is a shame because we live nearby. We ordered and picked up two subs on 10/21. When we unwrapped the subs at home, one was wrong (not even close--ordered an Italian coldcut and received some sort of cheesesteak/beef and peppers sub). The order receipt had a different person's name on it. We called immediately and spoke with a female manager who said that she would take the charge off our credit card. It's been 2 weeks and we have called twice since the initial call--once we spoke with a male who said he just started and would take our name and number for the female manager to call us back, and a second time when someone just said we'd have to call back (!). Order online it costs more, order in store it costs less but be prepared to stand inline for at least 10 minutes to order your food and then another 20 minutes for them to prepare your food. 30 minutes, no kidding that is how long it took to get a steak sub! read more

Personally, they're better than Jimmy John's. The subs I've had so far were great and they made them exactly how I requested. One complaint I had was the leaking and the packaging. I got a tuna once and the juices leaked through the paper bag and made my car seat stink. read more

The team there is a hoot---I'd say 90% of them are over the top friendly, which makes you feel welcome and energized as soon as you step in the door (the other 10% tend to be the younger/quieter staff). I used to be a Jimmy John's girl, but no more---the only thing JJ's still has on Jersey Mike's is online ordering is essentially instantaneous. They slice the meat fresh---I always get turkey and provolone w/ all the toppings, mayo and 'Mike's Way' with oil and vinegar. Yum. Their bread is fresh and good. Meat is high quality. Kitchen is always clean. Their brownies are ridiculoussss! :) My only beef is they're a Pepsi establishment, not Coke. Diet Coke all the way, baby. Keep it up JM's! I eat Jersey Mike's all the time but this is my first time at this location. I'm so glad this wasn't my first jersey mikes experience because if it were I'd never go to another JM again. My husband and I ordered 2 sandwiches. Mine was dressed incorrectly, no biggie I just asked for my dressings on the side to fix it myself. I let the "I asked you how you wanted it" comment slide because I understand everyone has a bad day. my sandwich was so sloppily made you'd swear the Tasmanian Devil himself assembled it. 80% of the cheese was stuck to soggy paper making it inedible unless you don't mind eating paper as well(at least I saved myself some calories lol) when I got home my husband's sandwich was the same way. It's like they laid cheese and meat directly on the paper and gently placed the bread on top. Literally the seam of the wrapper was on the bottom. He said the his chicken was abnormally dry as well. We order hot sandwiches at every other location and never have this problem where most of the filling is inedible because it can't be separated from paper. How is the paper so wet but the chicken is dry?? The chips were great though. Basically we paid $35 for disappointment. We went the first week they opened, a few weeks after that and we're going again tonight.
