The cheesesteak was heavy, fresh, and good. The cheese fish was good with fish filets cut in half to fit in the sub. The fries were hot and fresh and with that side of brown gravy, awesome. They also have other sandwiches and subs and their breakfast options are good as well. There is plenty of off street parking in front if the place as well. All in all, a great place to grab a lunchtime sub or sandwich.

Now this place has seen better days, but this carryout has been here for a minute and we decided to go to see if the chicken boxes withstood the test of time. We placed our order over the phone: two 5 piece chicken wing combos with Western fries and a drink. We chose for our drinks the half and half ( iced tea and lemonade) and the triple mix ( iced tea, lemonade, and fruit punch). They also have a variety of snacks, sandwiches and fried seafood items, along with fresh salads and dessert items. We got there and we had to wait about 10 minutes before our order was ready. The lady at counter was pleasant and I swear, that could have been the same lady that's been here for a couple of decades. The ambiance was guarded, as this area is one you need to exercise caution when visiting, with a suggestion to visit as early as you can. We got our order and when we got home, it was still hot. The chicken wings were a nice size and fresh, crispy, well seasoned, and not greasy. The Western fries were nice wedges, hot and fresh, but did lack the seasoning that they had in previous years. The half and half and triple mix were good, but very sweet, even with the amount of ice in the drinks. All in all, a decent place to get chicken in the area.

I remember when it used to be a beauty supply store! There was plenty of off-street parking available on the lot. I called my order in: cheese fish sub with everything. I arrived and was greeted by an intimidating, but pleasant man to pick up my order. The ambiance was so expected for a carryout only establishment: small, orderly and fast-paced. I got my order and was in my way. The cheese fish was tasty. They used a whole breaded fillet, not the square shaped fish one that usually comes with a fish sub. Everything was fresh and I enjoyed it. My only gripe was that the fillet was thin and it would really knock this sub out of the park if it had TEW of them in the sub. All in all, I was not disappointed and will be back to try the cheesesteak sub and maybe the pizza.

Their house-roasted porchetta used a light layer of hot giardiniera, (marinated cauliflower, carrots, bell peppers, celery and Calabrian chili peppers), and it wasn't super-spicy. Perfect for me! They used "shaved Auricchio provolone", which happily had more flavor than average american provolone, and it melted enough to make a soft stretchy layer as a good replacement for more traditional stracciatella cheese. The star of the sandwich, the porchetta, was tender, juicy but not wet, very nicely flavored with tiny touch of its own peppery heat. The ciabatta had a nice chew, not crispy, not too soft. A very nice sandwich! The flavors could have been a bit more bold, and i wanted just a little more crisp on the pork. The whole sandwich was very pleasing. The "classic Italian" was very generously overstuffed with quality cold cuts: bright mortadella and capicola, thin tender prosciutto, flavorful provolone and romano. A good balance of lettuce, tomato, and red onion, lightly flavored with their savory herbed house vinegar & oil, and a light sprinkling of bright flavorful not-too-spicy crushed cherry peppers. Of course on their great fresh Italian bread. It was very tasty and satisfying. For the six-year-old we got a simple salami and mayo. It sounds ordinary, but it was a very flavorful super-thin salami and that perfect Italian bread. I was lucky the six-year-old saved me a taste :-) With a full little grocery store, we also added Berger cookies and several types of Italian cookies. The amaretto ones were especially light and well flavored. They melt in your mouth! Scittino's has a whole menu of sandwiches and pastas and chicken and sweets and salads, a nice selection of Italian soft drinks, and a full deli. We often get their giant 20-inch New York thin crust pizza! Tasty with a crispy-bottom chewy thin crust. This is a nice little corner neighborhood restaurant with a few tables and enough parking here and there. They make you feel welcome, and the food is good :-)

We were driving home through Brooklyn Park yesterday and I noticed the sign... a quick check on yelp and I added Linda's to my "want to go" collection. I had no idea that I'd be there the very next day. If you are bored, and look back at some of my reviews, you can see that we're on several food missions. One of which is to find a local cheesesteak that matches up to some of the masterpieces that we've had in Philly... HUGE mission complete today. First off, they have cheddar cheese sauce. None of this making do with the nacho cheese sauce they use on chips. Not labeled as Wiz but still exactly what we've been looking for... and they mix it in with the meat! So every bite includes cheesy goodness. They also mix in the perfectly grilled onions. I also got mayo and hots. The perfect amount... none of the fresh, soft, glorious roll was left wanting of condiments. The hots peeking out in little bursts of spicy and vinegar. Just... I mean... how many times can you say perfect?? Jeremy also got a cheesesteak and 10 piece Wings... and Linda's hit those out of the park, too!! The breading is crunchy, and so satisfying that you don't need any sauce. They came with fries, which were decent but could have used a bit of salt. We are sooooo totally coming back. FOUND OUR CHEESESTEAK SPOT!!!
