This location operates like a well oiled machine. Came here for lunch on a weekday and there was already about 10-15 people in front of me in line. To my surprise, the wait to the front didn't take long at all. First of all, they have an assembly line of sandwich makers comprised of about 7 people. Everyone seemed to be on their ish as everyone operated with a sense or urgency. There was a woman dressed in a red shirt (everyone else wore black) who seemed to be the "line leader". She made sure the line was divided according to whether you were ordering a hot or a cold sub. She also made sure the other employees had the customer's order correctly written down, and basically just made sure the line was flowing smoothly and efficiently. My co-workers and I had somewhat of a complicated order in terms of payment and everyone showed patience, and wonderful customer service. I ordered the Big Kahuna Sub sandwich with chips and drink and that sucker was tasty and the regular portion is pretty large. The steak is cooked well and the cheese blends the meat in with the mushrooms and peppers. The only reason that I knocked off a star is because I got my hot sub sandwich like 5 minutes later than the rest of my party. But to their defense I guess it takes a while to cook the meat. Also, I've still yet to try their other subs. Also, the subs are a little pricey (about $9 for a regular). Lucky for me, the company I work for owed me lunch! But yes, I'll be back when I'm craving a nice hot sandwich.

Nice diversity of beverages=Diet Mountain Dew, Diet Pepsi, and health drinks.

Standard Submarine Sandwich.... Mike's Way is nice-but soggy after a day..so eat within 24 hours due to oil and vinegar=but delicious!!!!

#3 sausage, egg, and cheese on a plain bagel

I contribute my weight gain to this place :) I use to go here all the time and get the #3 breakfast sandwich (Sausage, egg, an cheese) on a plain bagel. I haven't been in a while, but I missed this place so I paid them a visit this week. Breakfast sandwiches will run you $5.50 (price increase from the last time I visited), but are pretty good. Reason for the 3 stars is because I'm not a fan of their lunch selection or sub sandwiches. Breakfast here is good though. Plenty of seating and if you go during the summer there is outdoor seating.

No sub is better than a Jersey mikes sub. Best sandwich in America and an awesome rewards program. These are my kryptonite.

The meat portion was very generous; the beef was thinly sliced but juicy and not dry or hard at all; the sausage had a rich smoky flavor, not too salty, and tastes a lot like Harbin red sausage. Al's Classic Hand-Cut Fries: They were piping hot when I received them, so touching! I couldn't taste the hand-cut texture, but there was a spice powder similar to salt and pepper, and the flavor was quite good.

Kinda skimpy on the fixings on the Chicago dog, but still gets the job done if you're craving a Chicago dog. Fries are the type that are greasy to the touch; not my fave style of fries but I know it's a well-liked one to others. Super friendly lady at the cashier (all smiles, patient, and offered menu help)! Also fast service (got my order within a few minutes). I visited on a Saturday late afternoon and it was very chill here (also shoutout to the early 2000's era music playing :p it was a vibe). Overall I'd say it's not a bad food spot at all if you want a quick bite and want to be a little away from the Magnificent Mile crowds.

Great lunch/breakfast spot with fast service and simple/fresh sandwiches…read more The oven roasted turkey sandwich was great, tasted like something my grandma would make me (in a good way). Will be back.

I really want to like them so much more than I do. If there were a continuum from hipster deli…read more(think Mile End) to traditional deli (Manny's, 2nd Avenue, etc) Schneider would on the hipster side of center. Two of us shared a half pound pastrami on rye with a side of hash browns. The rye was pretty decent but the pastrami was sliced far too thick and the meat was lean. That is not a good thing when it comes to pastrami and I attribute the lean meat to the deli catering to its hipster-ish audience. Although the flavor was decent, the sandwich was dry and difficult to eat. We disagreed on the generously sized pickle. One of us thought the flavor was just right, the other not so much. We both agreed on the hash browns. It's a no-go. They were well fried but entirely unseasoned. I understand the lack of schmaltz but there was no onion or salt or anything else. Waffle House has nothing to worry about. (IYKYK) Service was fast and polite. The space is tiny, but it works. Prices are okay for this area but if you want traditional deli in Chicago, go to Manny's.
