I miss their location on Belmont, but was happy to find this location. Didn't really find any street parking so I had to park at the little lot across the street which was $15. I guess to park that's not really that expensive but when you're just going in for a sandwich, it seems like a bunch. I ordered my Philly with onions and green peppers with the American cheese and it was as good as the one on Belmont. The place is a little dirty. The bathrooms are horrendous just as bad as the ones on Belmont you used to be. I don't know why it's so hard for people to use the restroom without leaving an extreme mess. So I would say the biggest downfall is how disgusting the bathrooms are. The place is older so it isn't the cleanest looking of places, but unlike the one on Belmont, I left and didn't get food poisoning. First, the Seasoned Fries. They reminded me of Arby's curly fries, but unfortunately, they were all small, broken pieces. Even worse, they were served at room temperature and seriously lacked salt Next was the main event: the Philly sandwich. Unwrapping it was confusing. Did I order an Italian beef dipped in sauce, or a Philly? That's how incredibly soggy it was. The bread was already deteriorated from the moisture. Flavor-wise, it was just... meh. I've had this place before and didn't even know until I recently was introduced to their buffalo chicken Philly, and I must saaaaaay it was so good! Ordered the wrong thing by accident on the phone driving there for pickup and asked to change it and would pay the difference for the inconvenience, I'm allergic to chicken and wanted steak instead as it was recommended for my food page and was highly disappointed. I don't like how little of the cheese they used to make the Philly, nor was the bread the freshest (i.e. the bread was tough to chew on the ends). This is IT! IMHO it's better than the couple of spots I've tried in Philly. They're a bit pricey but worth every penny. I used to go here for Philly cheesesteak pizza slices but this time I grabbed a slice of gyro pizza. The cucumber sauce under the meat with the cheese on top, babbbbyyyyy. Now on the cheesesteak, it comes with onion and cheese but you can have additions (like mushroom and peppers) for an additional charge (of course). No more TastyCakes. Walked away. The place is similar to other greasy spoons on the other side of Halsted, not inviting for a sit down. Food is a good representation of a Philly cheesesteak.
