Went to the Bowie location at 10201 Martin Luther King Highway. Don't know if they're meeting the health standards. Most sandwich shops lay a sheet of paper down before they put the bread on the table, at this location, a man just put the bread directly on the table and the table wasn't clean. then instead of having a separate person make the sandwich, the person who was at the register made the sandwich. I'M a regular at Jersey Mikes in Lanham at Marketplace Shopping Center. On Friday July 20th I stopped in for a sub. I ordered my sandwich , gave specifics to the person making the sandwich and went to the register to pay. When I got there I was met by a young Black lady who was texting on the phone. I thought ok she's finishing up a text. But, she didn't acknowledge me. The screen said wait on the cashier and I relayed that to her. She didn't acknowledge me but addressed the register. I left a tip and usually the cashier would thank me. She didn't. The receipt printed out so she gave me the bag and receipt but never took her eyes off her cell phone which was still up to her face. I was super annoyed so before I left I stopped and got her attention. She finally looked up. I told her that that was horrible customer service, that she needed to put the phone down and treat customers with respect. She finally looked at me with a very annoyed look on her face like-- why are you still here? Needless to say there was no acknowledgement or apology for her actions. I asked for the manager who wasn't there but one of the staff was filling in. So, I told him and I made the point that for people my age, over 65, that is extremely disrespectful and that her lack of customer service needs to be addressed. I'd venture to say that's not the way Jersey Mike's teaches their staff how to provide customer service and I'm hoping it can be addressed. This store seems to have adopted the McDonald's ice cream machine strategy of pretending like their hands are tied when they just don't want to provide customers with a service. My wife and I stopped to get some sandwiches mid way through a 10 hour drive; she is pregnant and needs deli meat to be heated in order to avoid the risk of listeria contamination and losing our unborn son. The employee working the meat slicer laughed upon receiving my pregnant wife's request, and said that she couldn't do it. I use to manage several Jersey Mike's stores before I got a real job, and I can attest that this is not corporate policy. Not only is it not corporate policy as the employee pretended, but it also violates CDC guidance (https://www.cdc.gov/listeria/prevention.html) for safe food preparation. I can't help but to imagine what other shortcuts this store is taking to make their jobs easier at the expense of their customers' safety. If you find yourself in the area, don't fret though! The Chipotle a couple doors down from this Jersey Mike's was great. Not only did they give a large scoop of chicken for my burrito, but the cashier even gave us a free drink and shared her experience as a new mom. So excited that this location is literally right behind my boyfriend's house. No more having to drive to New Carrollton or Race Track Rd. for our Jersey Mike's fix. I've been to this location twice and both times have been very busy. The first time, they were a little behind and unorganized but it was somewhat expected. They had just opened I believe a day prior and I'm sure this was the first time most of the staff worked at a sub shop and it was a learning experience for all. Today was my second time. Hair in my food! Horrible service! I will definitely avoid this place in the future. I ordered from this Jersey Mike's via Uber Eats. First, they didn't give my drinks to the driver. I called and spoke with someone who was less than helpful. She said I could come pick the missing drinks up if I wanted. Really? I just paid a delivery charge and service fee because I DIDN'T want to have to go out. So then she says she can have the drinks refunded. She'll "write is down and it'll get refunded later." Um okay??? I requested to be called back when the refund was completed. Then, I'm eating and I find a hair in my sandwich (visible in pics for anyone who cares to see). ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING. I call back and (after having trouble getting through, and calling multiple times) I speak with a manager named Brianna. She ignored me and put the phone down while I was talking!!! I was explaining the situation and why I was dissatisfied, and then I hear nothing on her end but noise from the restaurant. So I start yelling, "HELLO? HELLO?" She finally responds, plainly saying, "Yes?" I told her I was waiting for her to respond to what I said. She had no idea what I said and couldn't respond! She must've just put down the phone and stopped listening while I made my complaint. BEYOND RUDE! In the end, I'm working with Uber Eats to try and get a refund. Worst experience at Jersey mikes. Ordered 2 subs online and I arrived just at the time the order was supposed to be ready to be picked up. To no surprise the staff didn't even start on the subs and I had to ask about them after 10-15 mins of waiting. I ended up waiting about 15-20 more minutes to get my order. Mind you it seemed fairly slow and I didn't understand what took so long. I actually made a order trying to avoid a long wait and ended up waiting very long. Cool place. I got a Tuna sub with everything on it. I noticed the employees were very friendly, but a little unorganized. At times a bit unprofessional. Maybe because it was a busy lunch rush and there were a lot of customers in line? The sub is great. This place is kind of like Potbelly's but they don't have an option to toast the sub. Which sucks because by the time I got to eat it, the bread was soggy. It might be because I got everything on it (which includes oil and vinegar). All in all, nice visit. Great sandwiches and a great owner so I wish the place well. My favorite is a cheesesteak in a wrap instead of the heavy sub roll. I thought it would be messy and not as good but trust me, if you love cheesesteaks you will have a new addiction. They could enhance speed of service and accuracy of hot sandwich orders. When the gentleman who is the franchisee owner is there things move and it seems organized. The young people who work there are always pleasant and never rude, but seem to have deficient training when it comes to fulfilling hot sandwich orders. My orders have included items on the sandwich that I asked not be included like green peppers or the wrong type of cheese. Staff just needs to pay more attention and ask questions if my order is not clear (like no cheese on the cheesesteak sandwich for my son who hates cheese). I've been to other locations and they're pretty good. But I'm so glad this one is right by my house. Staff is extremely friendly. It's hard to find a solid place that gives consistently good food. The others did well too even though they were clearly less experienced - they knew when to ask for help, weren't causing any problems. The process isn't super efficient the way it's set up but the employees were definitely doing it as fast as possible, and obviously some speed is inevitably lost in exchange for the quality value of fresh sliced meat. Was on a road trip and excited to get a somewhat healthier meal from Jersey Mikes. Since I am pregnant I asked the worker to heat my deli meat on the grill as I've had this done back home on multiple occasions. She laughed and said no then called over a manager. He said he couldnt heat the deli meat on the grill due to "cross contamination". I have no other allergies that would make this an issue and you would think they have the ability to clean their grills in between orders. The Centers for Disease Control (CDC) advises that pregnant women "avoid eating hot dogs, lunch meats, cold cuts, other deli meats (such as bologna), or fermented or dry sausages unless they are heated to an internal temperature of 165°F or until steaming hot just before serving." Clearly this location is prejudiced towards pregnant women or just lazy. Do not recommend for anyone pregnant or who support pregnant women feeding their unborn child safely. read more

We approached the cashier to let them know that we are here and she instructed us to sit down and wait. They said they will deliver it to us. But it's 4:10 now and most customers that came in AFTER us has gotten their subs and left. I swear that at least four groups have Walked away with their subs. This was my first visit to Jersey Mike's. I brought my mom who's in a wheelchair and has dementia and from the moment we walked in everyone was very welcoming and accommodating. They were patient and checked on us. People criticize young people for being rude and selfish but Gregory, the manager, set a great tone. When I said I wanted to write a great review he wanted to make sure everyone got kudos. So in addition to Gregory, I want to thank Dalton, Daniel, Ahmad, and Breanna for being professional and kind and offering great customer service. Oh. I guess I should mention the food. My mom loves Italian subs. First she said she didn't like it. I'm not a fan of Italian subs but didn't want it to go to waste. So I ate part of her sandwich and enjoyed it. After we left she said she'd like to go back. LOL She's been in the hospital multiple times but I plan to take her back. And guessing by the steady stream of people, it's a good place. :) read more
