The regulars also gave me a brief history about the place and told me that everything on the menu was fantastic. Leblanc's has a very nice family atmosphere and I even had a worker on the hot lunch line offer to check on my order after 40 minutes. The place was super busy so be prepared to wait for a while at lunch time. As the sign says, "it's good food, not fast food." It took 50 minutes to place my order and receive my food. During this time waiting I did become enticed by the hot lunch that had catfish and fried chicken. Visually their food on the hot lunch line appeared miles ahead of what's served at the Jett's Food Mart. The inside of the restaurant was pretty clean and well maintained given the storied history of the building. I walked away with a cheeseburger and fries with a vegetable plate containing broccoli rice, cabbages and okra and tomato. The burger patty was less seasoned than I expected but it was a good quality homestyle burger. They serve all toppings on the burger except ketchup. Nothing to complain about. The fries were also a great complement. There is also plenty of salt, pepper and other condiments that you can use to your liking. The vegetable plate was absolutely fantastic and flavorful. Cabbages were full of tender meat and the broccoli rice has visible onions, plenty of cheese and was very delicious. I have a feeling that this is the best hot lunch line in Zachary. I will be back.

Waited a little while to try this place out but have been going to the Baton Rouge location since…read moreabout 10 months after opening. We always eat inside, unless we are just getting a shake, then we use the drive thru. The service inside is always great, it's always clean and the food is typically brought you in a very timely manner for being cooked to order. The burgers are always juicy and contain a really good sear. The taste of beef and really good rendered beef fat is the flavor you get first. Which in my opinion, I want the great taste of seared beef and the juices to carry the burger. Not a sauce, not a bun, the beef. Shake Shack uses Martin's potato buns, which is the best bun for burgers. Other buns may work however, Martin's potato buns the best. This is the type of burger that doesn't even need condiments, however their shack sauce is good but very similar to other burger sauces. Their Chicken Shack has also been very good when I ordered it a few times. Chicken is hot and crispy. The pickles are good but the herb aioli is a must. Get extra on the side, it's really good with the sandwich and fries. I tried the limited time BBQ rib sandwich, it was also very good. However, not as good as the burger or chicken sandwich. It's a shame but also not horrible the best burger in Baton Rouge comes from a chain. It's disappointing because just like pizza, Baton Rouge does not have any great options. Shake Shack being the best available in Baton Rouge isn't a bad thing though because it's a really good to great burger and two, because of all the chain places it's arguably the best. You could argue Five Guys or In N Out, but I have had all three and Shake Shack is the best in my opinion as far as chains go.

The second time, I ordered pickup clearly staring the numbers on the menu. One of my party ordered a Philly steak - seemed pretty easy. The employee repeated the order correctly. When we got home there was a chicken sandwich instead of philly cheese steak. Two of the sandwiches were correct. I'm hoping the managers will correct these issues so this place can succeed.

I stopped going because of the major jump in price of the food especially the wings but they are not a big chain so I get it. Things are served à la carte here but on my last visit I got wings and fries. They charge 50 cents to put Tony's on top and call it spicy fries. Hard pass. The wings were good but not enough to stand out on the price point. I would say don't knock it til you try it though. Burgers also seem to be a hit here. The menu is massive. I ordered everything and took it home to eat with my husband. Service was realistically fast. I was there maybe 10 mins but I expected as much since everything was made fresh. Ordering did present some challenge between the speaker or the cashier I had to repeat myself a few times. Not sure why that was, it wasn't a terrible inconvenience just something I made note of. The Oreo milkshake was the first thing I noticed. It was thin and super melty when they handed it to me through the window. So already off to a bad start, milkshakes made thin are NOT my favorite thing. Especially since I was transporting it home. I was so excited to get home so I could dig in to my Philly cheesesteak fries. They looked delicious, but after the first bite I wasn't impressed. Very light sauce, not enough cheese, seasoning was lacking for the meat and fries, and the fries weren't fresh. My husband got a repeat order so we at least had that.....except the chicken cheesesteak wasn't as fresh or as flavorful as the first time. And his fries weren't fresh old and not great AT ALL. I gave Flayva a 3, because the first taste was FABULOUS. We are willing to try it again and hopefully I can rate it higher then. Definitely worth a try, or 3.
