Jersey Mike's is my favorite sub spot. Price, freshness, efficiency. I ordered a number 7 today as I usually do and asked if I could get 2 less slices of turkey (because honestly I just like less turkey) and to add 2 pieces of bacon. The girl that took my order walked away and came back and told me that the substitute was not possible and I would still get charged for the bacon. I've been here about more times than I can count...I know bacon is an additional charge, I just wanted less turkey and told her I understood that. I checked out and got my drink before sitting down and almost immediately heard her talking trash about me to her other coworkers. Obviously she must've thought I left but maybe look around before talking behind my back LOL. The additional charge isn't an issue for me, heck charge me double for the inconvenience it caused you to slice 2 less pieces of turkey. A coworker told me about the Big Kahuna here. I was craving philly cheese steak and that sandwich hits the spot! I normally do not like sandwiches or sandwich places but I love philly cheese steaks. I have not been to Philly for the authentic thing yet so take my review as you do. I love the onions and mushrooms in there. They grill the jalapenos also so it's not as spicy. Before I say anything the food was awesome! I hate to say anything negative about a business trying to operate during this pandemic but I didn't have a very good experience a couple days ago. I ordered on Postmates for pick up. All of the employees were very very nice however, perhaps the manager or maybe just an overly aggressive employee was yelling at everyone including customers coming in to pick up orders. She accused me of placing my order at a different store without even asking her employees if someone was working on it, which they were and it was ready. She wasn't communicating with her staff efficiently. I felt very bad for the employees that had to work in that environment. It was a lunch rush and all she was doing was yelling at them. Really upset that this is now the second time i've ordered from this location since it is conveniently closer to my work than the one off william cannon which i love bc of the service there and the employees and the food. This location has now declined in their food making. I get the sub in tub philly and its been wrong twice now. Last timne they put l lettuce when i had specifically requested not too. had to reach out to favor for this mess up. now this time they forgot to season their meat and forgot to add the red and green onions. it was so bland i couldn't finish it even with the chipotle mayo I had used to drown out the flavorless meat. It's very hard to find decent sandwiches in Austin. I started to think Jersey Mikes could be the answer. I always thought they had more than one slicing machine because they handle varieties of products. Today I witnessed ham, salami, bloody roast beef and provolone cheese all cut one after the other on the same machine. Disgusting! Do u like a little blood on ur provolone. The first time that that I went to a Jersey Mikes was about 12 years ago when I live in New Jersey. At the time, I thought that it was good, but not great. Having been in Texas now for about 7 years, I have to say that either Jersey Mike's got a lot better, or Subway made me numb to good subs. Either way, Jersey Mike's makes one heck of a good sandwich. All of the deli meat is cut fresh to order, which at least seems to give the sandwich a fresher feeling. The staff have always been very nice (unlike some other chains) and I have yet to have anyone mess up my order (unlike some other chains). The bread is nice and fresh, coming in both white and wheat, and they have some nice combinations that echo more northeastern Italian styles of foods, while also having all the tradional stuff. Definately try your sandwich "Mike's Way" which has most of the regular toppings, but swaps out mayo for oil and vinegar, and adds some italian seasonings. On the downside, it's a little pricey compared to subway or quizmos, but in all reality it like saying that a burger at Freddie's is comparable to McDonalds. Also, the sandwich sizes are a little annoying because they only come in 4, 8, and 16-inches. I find that the 8 is a bit too small for me, so I usually end up overspending and overeating. read more

This was my preferred sandwich chain when I lived in Cleveland, so seeing one open semi-close to my workplace excited me! This particular location just opened a few weeks ago, so they're still working out the kinks, but overall it's a nice, clean spot for a very large sandwich. Jersey Mike's supersedes other sandwich joints in this town because the meats are sliced to order as you watch. Try the roast beef -- it has just the right amount of redness so you're not worried you're eating raw meat, but you're not choking on the dryness, either. The #2 (cappacuolo, ham and provolone) tastes pretty light while also giving you all the hammy flavor of a ham sandwich. I've received what tastes like day-old bread a couple of times, but that doesn't faze me. Sandwiches run in the $4-7 range, but they really are rather huge. The cold subs are fantastic. I can't vouch for the hot subs, though, as I don't generally eat them. read more

We went in early in the day, what seemed not that long after opening for the day. I was not really sure this was a good idea over the other food places in Southpark Meadows but I wanted something different. The man and I were greeted and were asked if we had been to Jersey Mike's before, when we said no we were given a run down of the basic offerings and what most people ordered. We chose to split a large Italian. The meat was sliced to order, and while we chose to have it 'Mikes way' we opted for mayo and asked for onions and tomatoes on the side. When the sub makers learned that one of us hated onions and the other hated tomatoes they made each of us our half of the sandwich how we wanted it. No eye rolling, no huffing, and generally more than happy to help. The counter was clean, and the meat slicer was like wise, having worked at a Schlotskys a while back I could appreciate fresh sliced meat, and bread that was made that day. Also you can tell when those style cutting boards are not clean, like when there are darker slashes from crusted previous orders, maybe we were early enough in the day, but I can say at some point bleach cleaned that board. If you are one of those people that are VERY SPECIFIC about your diet, or have an issue with more than one kind of meat on a slicer then a) eat somewhere else, and b) don't buy deli meat (they clean the slicers but not to the taking the whole slicer apart between meats and you do get parts of other meat and cheese in there, without taking the whole blade off you just can't sanitize a slicer back to kosher standards) Also Mike's Way was fantastic, I love me some red wine vinegar on a sandwich and Subway tends to look at me funny when I say "uh-huh I want more!', Jersey Mikes didn't even bat an eyelash. read more

as a long time denizen of the northeast, and the Philly region in particular, I have sampled hundreds of cheesesteaks from every type of shop, and truly can say that this chain does the best at the duplication of the classic in more ways than one. The meat is properly chopped, the grease from the meat is properly retained in the sandwich (very important), the bread is firm yet chewy, and the condiments be they peppers, onions, or mushrooms, are plentiful and cooked perfectly. The prices are a little high - but they are in the range as most Philly shops.' Only thing that would provide the fifth star is delivery to my house in the boonies of Hyas County, but we know that will never happen. read more

As a guy that grew up in South Jersey, hats off Jersey Mike's for a solid Italian Sub and Cheesesteak today. CS- good, crusty bread, meat was tasty and the team prepped it exactly as I requested. Italian sub was solid as well with freshly sliced and good quality meats. Get it "Mike's Way" if you want to experience it in true Jersey fashion. Only thing that kept me from 5 Stars is they put mayo on cheesesteaks unless you request other wise (whats-ah-matter-fa-you,eh?!)and an overall lack of "wow-ness."
